  1. Rasmus was pretty freaking good last season
  2. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) Oh, he's got an attitude? He really is Alex Rios: Part Deuce, just like I said in the other thread. Ugh. Yes, horrible
  3. QUOTE (FlySox87 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) If we trade what I believe to be our best pure hitter since Frank Thomas and a guy who's only getting better (and I am notoriously cynical of prospects) for a guy with a .258 career batting average, I'm gonna quit. Well, no...I could never quit on this team. I'll probably just cry like a b****. But seriously, this is so stupid. No deal for Rasmus should include anything more than Thornton. If Viciedo goes, we're the stupidest team in baseball. Rasmus has way more value than Viciedo does
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 04:21 PM) They must really like Santiago if they are willing to part with Matt. Or it means Sale is in the bullpen for the long run.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 04:20 PM) Interesting. I wonder what that means for Rios. Right field, with Quentin getting moved then
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) I'm calling BS. Why would they trade Rasmus for an impending FA and a 35 year old reliever? Because they think Rasmus is overhyped and they hate his attitude and other character concerns.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) I'm calling BS. Why would they trade Rasmus for an impending FA and a 35 year old reliever? Think of this...if they get Viciedo from us, then they can trade him for Heath Bell. Since John Jay has been far superior to Rasmus this year, this trade makes them a hell of a lot better this year (which is definitely their "All In" season also).
  8. The good news is that as long as it's not Viciedo, I really don't care which of our minor leaguers we trade.
  9. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 05:13 PM) It's obviously not April Fools day. I think Dayan is gone. Rasmus for Viciedo/Thornton/Jackson is far too much from our end.
  10. So Humber's getting his start skipped. Doesn't sound like he's too happy about it. Too bad we don't skip our worst pitcher instead of the guy who's been our best this year.
  11. Rasmus for Jackson/Thornton and a lot of salary relief makes a ton of sense for both teams.
  12. That sucks is was postponed. Had a good pitching match-up in our favor and it's one less game to have team win/lose prior to deadline.
  13. Looks like we'll miss Beckett next weekend as long as Boston doesn't have any rainouts.
  14. I doubt Cleveland's in a rush to get this game in tonight with Huff on the mound for them.
  15. Is that C. Jones guy on Rome any good? Seems old to be playing in A ball
  16. They're expecting another big front to hit Cleveland soon. My uneducated prediction is an 8:45 CST first pitch.
  17. QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 12:27 AM) What's wrong with B grade prospects? Getting past the fact Carlos is a poor defender and has sustained an injury in pretty much every year of his professional career, are going to be tough hurtles for a team to get over in order to offer elite talent. Plain and simple, he should have way more value than Beltran in my opinion.
  18. I really hope we don't have to trade Quentin, as at least he's productive (despite being streaky). Be a real indictment on Kenny if we have to trade one of our few productive players just to clear payroll so we can hang on to the albatross contracts of Peavy, Rios and Dunn.
  19. QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 11:48 PM) I think you can get a B level prospect, but I doubt anyone is giving away their top of the line guys for either. People really underrate Quentin on here, jeez
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 11:05 PM) EJ and CQ are playing there last full weekend in a Sox Uni. Insight or just a guess? I don't think Quentin is going anywhere.
  21. Pierre has had far from a NICE season. Sorry greg
  22. Dunn's timing looked good all night. Good swings, just matter of him squaring the ball up and remembering he's Adam Dunn and not Mark Teahen.
