Sounds like a rain out

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 03:47 PM) Who's that? Ronald Guzman
-
Read yesterday where KC is expected to sign the best International player on the market.
-
I just like how Milwaukee has Kotsay batting in front of Braun/Fielder (while Morgan's been great for them), and then has a batter that's 4 for his last 45 batting behind those two studs. And yes, the squeeze play was terrible.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) We finally seem to have him right again. The last thing we need to do is Nick Swisher him up by trying to make him do something he isn't going to be comfortable with. the whole reason Juan Pierre is still on this team is that he is the one guy who actually has hit as a leadoff hitter on a regular basis in his career. Just like plugging Dunn into the DH spot, there are mental adjustments that go with putting someone in that spot. We don't need to screw up another player trying to do that right now. That is why Kenny isn't forcing Viciedo into the line up right now. It hasn't got anything to with the idiotic notion that somehow Pierre is being rewarded by Ozzie for sucking. It is the same idea as asking your closer to go start a game. IMO, it has everything to do with Ozzie's desire to have a slappy, speedy guy at the top of the order. The switch to lead off hitter is a lot less difficult than Dunn's adjustment, as you only truly lead off once.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 02:23 PM) I hate to say it, but I think Rios is the solution to Viciedo coming up. If Rios continues his resurgence, I would lead him off and bring up Viciedo to play OF. Rios has done it before in Toronto, he is capable. The only question is whether Rios figured it out or if he is just having a lucid moment in a season of insanity There's two posters on this site that have proven time and again they have inside sources. One of them said the master plan is for Rios to lead off next season.

QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 14, 2011 -> 03:31 AM) Lots of wishful thinking until Ozzie decides to sit Pierre. In my opinion, this article was Kenny's way of saying that he wants Viciedo playing in LF but Ozzie wants Pierre instead. Just like last year, it's his way of putting Ozzie in the spotlight.

I see the Brewers continue to have an idiot for a manager. Playing Kotsay in CF, and then not walking Aramis with a base open? I feel sorry for Milwaukee fans.

Peavy trade due to ridiculous amount of money we have tied up in him. With Jackson the money wasn't the type to really impact your budget
-
No one said Padres didn't have money issues. There's people on this site that can confirm I was saying the same thing to them after the first near Peavy trade with regards to concerns San Diego had about how he would hold up. If Sox trade Danks this offseason I dont think anyone would claim it's a salary dump
-
Padres knew they couldn't sign him to an extension so that's why they got rid of him now
-
Gonzalez wasn't a salary dump at all.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 05:52 PM) Wennington, Joel Anthony, Dalembert, Magloire, and Todd MacCulloch versus Luc Longley, Chris Anstey, David Andersen, and Andrew Bogut. It's close. Todd MacCulloch is one of the greatest pinball players in the world.

QUOTE (kapzk @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) Ya the Padres were in a mess financially, but hey they felt that the White Sox offer was better than that of the Cubs and Braves whom were in the run for pursuing Peavy during the Winter Meetings of that year.(which looking back at the Padres would have certainly dealt PV to another team since considering they would have gotten far better talent). So they don't exactly win the trade as to this day Padre fans are bitter over the fact that Peavy was traded, so I dunno how you came down to the conclusion they won as they have lost a ton from ticket sales due to the drop in attendance after that trade. IIRC, the Cubs never made an official offer. And from everything I've heard, this wasn't just a salary dump for San Diego. They had concerns about how Peavy's arm was going to hold up after tons of innings/sliders.

To be honest, I like our 5 man rotation better without Peavy.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 05:58 PM) It looks horrible for us, regardless of whether the Padres get any production out of anyone we traded for them or not. That trade was not about players, it was about Jake's condition and money. It has been an absolute disaster for us to this point, regardless of how you view it. Amen!
-
Haha, that Heat huddle view was awesome!! Thanks Dallas

QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 03:38 AM) You really gotta credit Lebron for trying to get his teammates involved here...a Did Willie only have one postseason at bat?
-
Johnson has displayed a really good slurve. His change-up is about 8 mph slower than his fastball, but it's been up in the zone.
-
Hey ABC...thanks for letting us know during the flow of the game how many fouls each team has against them
-
Is it me, or has Chandler played very soft tonight?
-
Haha, that is an offensive foul 99% of the time.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 13, 2011 -> 03:21 AM) Does Miami look like they are quitting? Way too much time left for that. It honestly looked that way the last three possessions, but we all know Miami has another run or two in them.

Semien shows tremendous hands by driving an inside pitch off the fence.
