QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:46 AM) There are a lot of things discussed on the internet with "people close to the situation." Like I heard Obama was a secret Muslim commie who was born in.... see what I mean? I have a hard time believing a guy is a mental midget when he joins a big league team less than a year after college and is able to stick in the big leagues. You just learn to trust certain people. Beckham's uncertain frame of mind was referenced numerous times by Walker in radio interviews, as they kept mentioning how he needs to believe in himself.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:44 AM) Why the f*** are we running into outs in the 9th inning I'm fine with Pierre trying to steal against a righty reliever. Just better managing by Girardi.
-
Great coaching there to call two pitch outs.

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:42 AM) holy unsubstantiated rumors batman! That was discussed on here quite often last year, and by other posters closer to the situation.

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:41 AM) small sample sizes are fun. Really though, for once I want to see this team go over slot on ANY kind of f***ing talent. But I know it's a pipe dream, what with the Selig/Reinsdorf relationship. Bud Selig is bad for baseball. Small sample size? Beckham's been in a slump seemingly 75% of his time here. Good thing for him is that when he gets hot, he racks up the hits or else his average would be in the low 200s.

So Grady Sizemore looks to have regained some of his magic. Always thought a team should have tried to trade for him when he was hurt and go with high risk/high reward player.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:39 AM) I thought I read somewhere that Gordon decided to screw with his swing after his first season to try and get better at hitting breaking balls and just hasnt been the same since. He's a mental midget who would call Greg Walker every day apparently after his rookie year to ask Walker if he thought he could make it in the big leagues. That's why once he started struggling last year, the s*** hit the fan.

QUOTE (Paint it Black @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:37 AM) Drafting better players usually does the trick Yeah, that's working wonders with Beckham.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:36 AM) Is there anybody in the sox system that can be a different voice for our young hitters? Need to bring in an outside voice. These guys have been hearing from the same people for too long.

Omar better be playing 3rd in the bottom of the inning.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 02:35 AM) Do you bring G back in the 9th? No
-
After seeing Logan try to field when he was here, Pierre better be bunting.
-
Have a feeling we're going to see Thornton in the 9th.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:27 AM) f***ing Gordon. Why do you think you are shanking that? It's like a 4 part swing. Funny how Dunn probably had 5 strikes thrown to him in that last AB.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:18 AM) I think a rookie is going to look overmatched at times. His effort and ability to take pitches to RF however shows that he's got the saavy to adjust to some of the big league pitchers he's facing. I think spelling him on occasion with Omar/Teahen is fine. This is the year to let him take his lumps because if you're looking for make or break production from the 9-hole then what kind of a season are you going to have anyway? Good argument ginger

PAULIE!

Oh for a 2 run homer

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:15 AM) Please tell me you knew I was joking. I've wanted to get rid of Walker since 2007. Sqwert...I'm your biggest fan, of course I knew that

QUOTE (Knackattack @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:14 AM) Gotta agree. I'd rather give Morel a full season to prove that he is worthless considering that Teahen already got that chance. One could say Teahen never got a full season with the Sox. I'm not a Teahen fan, but it's not like Morel is some can't miss prospect who is the future of the organization.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:13 AM) Dude, you're jumping on a rookie because he's not starting out of the gate hitting .300 and driving in clutch runs. Secondly, you think Teahen's better. I respectfully disagree. Strongly. I'm jumping on Morel cause he looks overmatched at the plate and has been nothing special in the field. With everyone else slumping, we can't afford to play someone who's struggling so much when Teahen or Omar is swinging better than him. This isn't the year to let a rookie take his lumps.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:11 AM) I'd rather have Morel in there. Teahen is worthless. That was a hotshot that Cano fields 50% of the time. Wait, Morel's not worthless?

For the love of Doug Eddings, FIRE WALKER!
-
QUOTE (since56 @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:06 AM) Why doesn't Ozzie start Teahen and let him get three at bats and put Morel in at the end for defense? Instead you have Morel getting three at bats and Teahen on the field at the end of the game. Morel needs to go to AAA and be told to pull every pitch he sees. No more of this NL pitching style bulls*** at the plate.
-
Juan has 2 extra base hits in 98 ABs. Morel has 3 in 66 ABs. That's just pathetic, especially when they bat consecutively.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 27, 2011 -> 01:02 AM) Hitting coaches don't make a difference. Anyone who thinks that way is an absolute idiot
