  1. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 04:31 PM) Well after reading what he said in the article, I am kind of pissed at Hudson, to be honest. About him trying to nibble on the mound with the Sox? It's still kinda fascinating to think how one lazy effort by Beckham at Oakland might have caused this trade.
  2. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 04:27 PM) Decent my ass. He's dominating at 19. And my reign of terror will be godlike if Hudson shuts us down and Jackson is his usual mediocre, I need 100 pitches to get through 4 1/3 innings, self. One game doesn't mean that much to me. I think it's safe to say everyone is in agreement is was a horrible trade by Kenny and one I feel like we'll never totally understand what the end game was supposed to be.
  3. Don't forget going from the worst arm in baseball to supposedly a plus-plus arm
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:12 PM) I have no idea who you are referring to? I'm guessing Heads. Seeing how well Holmberg's doing yesterday is the perfect appetizer heading into Friday. Hopefully Jackson throws a lot of sliders, or else Arizona will tee off on his fastball. That team can hit.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:07 PM) I predict 150 posts by fathom alone. Sorry, I won't be around. And if you think I'm the one who will blow up about Hudson vs Jackson, then you've mistaken me for a few other people. As much as I hate that trade, there's others on here that are significantly more upset about it.
  6. Greg, there's a huge difference between Rios/Dunn and Pierre. Rios/Dunn are locked up for numerous more years with the Sox, so they're obviously not going to be DFA'd, etc.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:42 AM) I don't know about that. I think a lot of this is human nature. Rios is still considered "full of talent" by many and I think that makes him immune to criticism in some's minds. It's a weird phenomenon. I know SOME people on here rip Rios and Dunn, but really not many. For some reason a lot of people think Rios and Dunn are decent members of the team when in reality they in their own way are as bad as Pierre. Those are 3 very weak links in our order. Also, Mr. Ground ball/Can't throw anybody out AJ is a weakness along with Beckham. How anybody can consider us a true contender is beyond me, unless 3-4 of those five get going. I worry about you
  8. Would Holmberg be our #1 pitching prospect?
  9. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:27 AM) The bad trade continues to be bad. Most short-sighted, ridiculous trade KW has made.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:04 AM) I'm sure you probably already know this, as you're as big as fan of the guy as I am. But Andrew McCutchen is 4th in all of baseball in WAR. He's the anti-Beckham. Andrew gets better every year while Gordon continues to regress. I had no idea, that's shocking as last I checked, he was having a subpar year. I love the guy though. I read today that Josh Bell won't be signed.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:53 AM) The Sox are just mentally weak. There is no other explanation. Tonight was just a lack of focus and game plan at the plate. It was like the Sox were machines batting that were unable to adjust.
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:51 AM) When the Pirates with a win tonight are over .500 and the Sox are not even .500 there is a huge problem with this team! I'm loving the rejuvenation of the Pirates. Hanrahan is a stud, and someone I wanted the Sox to look into last year along with Matt Lindstrom (I'm a sucker for hard throwers in the Futures Game).
  13. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:49 AM) Well you guys say I am one of the top three homers around here, and if I'm down on the guy, then his best days probably are well, well behind him... As well as docsox saying it
  14. The funny thing is that people probably think I hate Peavy. He's definitely not someone I dislike, and really hope he can be a big factor for the Sox the next year and a half.
  15. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:38 AM) is that really where you're going? come on dude, you're a better poster than that.... when you're not in first place, and you're playing against the team who is nearly double digits ahead of you in the loss column in May, and you show up the way Peavy did, kudos to him... i have yet to see Peavy 'choke' as a Sox starter. I know he's been hurt, but it isn't his fault and some of the vitriol spewed around in his direction on this forum just pisses me off dude wants to pitch, he wants to compete, he wants to help this team, and when he's had the opportunity he has helped us flame away, i just hope i'm not the only person on this forum that feels this way because it would be pretty f***ing sad if that's the case Well, fair enough, I was referring to postseason games.
  16. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:31 AM) Uh what? Like that CG 1hitter this year against the team that was in first place? He was dominating the tigers before he got hurt in his last start too No f***ing way I compare him to Javy Vazquez Wait, games in May are considered big games?
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:25 AM) As much as I hate Peavy's brittleness physically, I sort of agree. I think he'd welcome grabbing the ball and facing the Twinks despite the fact they own the Sox. Except ... It'd be 0-0 after nine with Jake and we'd lose in 10. Oh my god, this makes me want to throw a computer. I wonder how the Peavy Praisers would react knowing he has a Javy-esque reputation for pitching in big games.
  18. QUOTE (Real @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:23 AM) be honest none of you thought we had a prayer in this series right? the fact that MIN has the f***ing rochester red wings taking the field makes no difference only way we had any shot in this series would have been if Peavy and Humber were the starters (imo, the two guys in our rotation who i trust to get a win, too bad Peavy is in Charlotte...) I thought we'd win both games to be honest. This Twins lineup is pathetic, and I thought Dunn would crush Pavano tonight.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:21 AM) I want to get mad, but I think it's good that I don't care that much anymore. Prevents stress. Someone on here said it best after the Santos loss last week. Until they get to .500, there's no reason to even be disappointed in losses. Sure you can get mad, but we're not talking about a contending team right now.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 02:21 AM) I wonder what tomorrow's complaining thread will be titled "Greg Walker Needs To Go"
  21. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:20 AM) I'd have to list the games Thornton pitched in april My gosh, the Santos loss to the A's might be the most shocking loss I can remember.
  22. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:19 AM) Read my next post. True, but the Twins get a LOT of lucky breaks, too. They did?
  23. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:18 AM) Worse loss of the year to me. Pavano give me a FN break. .500 a long way off. This doesn't rank in the top 10
  24. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jun 16, 2011 -> 03:17 AM) Someone in the Twins' offices is getting his dick sucked by lady luck. Huh? They should have won this game by 5 or 6 runs.
  25. Hey, that's our #5 hitter! Awful performance tonight.
