  1. I can't remember the last time we had so many "pitches" to win a game. This is one of the most shocking losses we've had under the Ozzie era.
  2. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 03:44 AM) The same goes for you! You two probably both have stomach ulcers from all the gloom and doom you prognosticate on a daily basis. Or else you have raw genitals from all the masturbating you do when things are going poorly for us. Either way, when you or Greg are posting s*** like "oh, they are definitely going to score now. Sergio can't get anyone out," how the f*** is that refreshing to anyone other than yourselves? Personally, I don't think the bolded part is a big issue on here. That's at least talking about the game. Saying "we're never going to win again, this franchise sucks" is probably a better example. Just one pessimist's opinion.
  3. I don't worry about the team heading into a spiral as much as I think it impacts the fan base. Let's face it, 21k at a Friday night game is PATHETIC. Our fans only show up for winners, and the more losses we have like this, the more our attendance will struggle.
  4. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 03:36 AM) Viciedo will be traded. That's the only logical reason he isn't up yet. There will be an epic meltdown on here if that happens. However, I disagree that it's destined to happen. Ozzie just wants Pierre in the lineup instead of him.
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 03:35 AM) This board has some of the more patient people in the world. Wish my business accepted failure like you guys do. Heads would have rolled in the real world by now. This team is a joke. A total joke. I don't get people saying the season is over. However, more than 2 months into the season, this 2011 team is still finding creative new ways to lose games. That's not a very promising theme to have. I have no doubt that the offense is improving, but they're still in a hole behind the Indians/Tigers due to their late inning struggles.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 03:32 AM) I don't see this at all. This game was over if AJ doesn't try and get cute. No one out and up 2 runs with an 0-2 count. Throw the f***ing fastball. At least come back with it on 2-2 instead of tripling them up with it for ball 3. Then the pitch selection to Matsui was curious too. Even the A's announcers were describing it as "questionable." This one is on AJ more than Serge as far as I am concerned. I've noticed AJP seems to be more stubborn than ever with regards to attacking hitters. Just like Crain vs Cabrera from last week, AJ and the pitchers need to do a better job of setting up hitters.
  7. I'm suddenly scared we'll trade Viciedo and numerous others for Heath Bell.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:28 AM) It would certainly be nice if they could respond well to it. They didn't respond well to these losses earlier this year. We won the Saturday and Sunday after the horrible Friday night loss to Tampa and the two games after the awful loss to the Dodgers.
  9. QUOTE (OilCan @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:27 AM) Or the same ones who would have said SEE I TOLD YOU THEY WOULD COME BACK if the Sox actually did come back. Relax everyone. It hurts, yes. Santos missed his location. Second game in a row, yes. But the posts about THE BULLPEN IS IN SHAMBLES or other stuff is ridiculous. Good night. Feel better tomorrow. Wait, you don't think the bullpen is in shambles?
  10. QUOTE (chiguy79 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:26 AM) Not the end of the world...but every 10 days it seems we turn two very winnable games into losses..it is getting old. I can only imagine Ozzie is going to go off the handle after this one. I think the thread should just close with the bolded part. I highly doubt anyone disagrees.
  11. Biggest issue with our blown saves is that it seems like we've gone on to lose all but one of those games. At least we can say that when Sergio goes bad....he really goes bad.
  12. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:20 AM) The game tonight is not indicative of anything on its own. Even the best teams in baseball have nights like these. We controlled the game throughout and then got done in by some hit batsmen and two hits in the 9th. Don't let the 9th be indicative of the whole night. Our weak point has been offense this year, and today we provided some. Our weak point is clearly our bullpen right now.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:17 AM) "This game won't matter much in the big scheme of things." /ranger He was talking the other day about how Buehrle struggled to start 2006 due to the extra innings he pitched in 2005. I guess he didn't realize Buehrle was great the first 3 months.
  14. Reason this is a terrible loss is we might have faced the worst pitcher to start a game all season, and then we had about 10 pitches to win the game. This is so similar to the Tampa debacle on another Friday night where they had a long losing streak. Oh, and you suck Juan.
  15. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:17 AM) The same people who are b****ing that the season is over now will be the ones screaming that real fans (like themselves) can't get tickets to the post season games Shouldn't you be giving Bobby a sponge bat right now?
  16. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:14 AM) Sergio has been really solid all year. Just because it hurts right now doesn't mean you start thinking of him as the worst pitcher in baseball. He's had 3 blow-ups in about 2 weeks. He looked like someone with no confidence at all tonight.
  17. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:13 AM) Maybe JR better get off his ass and fire Ozzie and Kenny The bullpen is in shambles, and I blame KW for leaving the unreliable Pena on the roster coming into the season. The fact we have two righties in the pen that even should sniff a big league roster is usually a bad sign.
  18. I would also like to know why AJ called for a change-up to Suzuki after the previous one almost hit him in the dick. Santos didn't throw a single change-up that inning that didn't tail hard towards his right.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:11 AM) I can't think of a single part of this franchise that doesn't suck right now. Our general manager sucks, our manager sucks, and our players perform below expectations/suck. Meanwhile, the owner continues to sleep as the team tumbles deeper and deeper into irrelevance. I wonder what it'll take for change. Konerko and Quentin are pretty awesome.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:09 AM) You know full well Terence isn't a manager in baseball who would have pulled him before the double. Totally disagree. It was clear he couldn't get anything but a fastball over. I really think Crain would have been brought in if he wasn't "overused".
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:08 AM) He had Willingham 0-2 and AJ decided to get cute. Sergio is fine. He's getting squeezed and then it just snowballed. He had no offspeed stuff tonight and his fastball is straighter than anyone else's on the team.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:06 AM) And that's a White Sox season. Sergio hit the wall about two months earlier than he did last year. So we're down to....nobody reliable in the pen.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2011 -> 04:06 AM) Ozzie?? How bout Sergio s***ting the bed???? Of course Sergio s*** the bed, but there was no excuse to have him still in the game. Maybe KW should get off his ass and get us another righty in the pen.
  24. We had something like 9 pitches to win this game. As big of a choke job as I can ever remember.
