QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 10, 2010 -> 08:03 PM) please get collins out of there, he can't make any throws. This is insane, he should get cut tomorrow. If you're going to cut Anderson due to performance, then you have to get rid of Collins.

PUT HANIE IN! Todd Collins is the worst QB I've ever seen in the NFL.
-
Ok Love, put Hanie in!
-
I really thought Taylor scored on that play. Forte and Peppers playing great, but it's inexcusable for Collins to be playing over Hanie. As my brother stated, Collins throws like he's a punter.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 10, 2010 -> 01:36 AM) What's better is that we no longer have to hear the most repeated sports factoid of the last ten years. No, that would be that Nick Smith is the tallest player in Illini history! -
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 10, 2010 -> 12:22 AM) You must don't watch him often? Dude is electric. I've really only seen him in this game, vs the Twins, and vs the Sox/Cubs this season.

Why did Washington pull O'Day to let Feliz face Bartlett? Also, every time I watch Feliz, he's extremely unimpressive.

Pitt vs ND had a battle in the 2nd half of which coach could make dumber mistakes. Kelly really makes some baffling coaching decisions. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) We had one prospect on the AA list in Morel and he was the last quartile. Wow. Could our system be worse? Granted, I am liking what I have seen from Morel/Viciedo, but man, we have no depth. Their is some glimmer of hope for some offensive players in our system, but if you don't consider Sale a prospect, the pitching in our system is easily the worst in the majors. Even a team like the Astros has Lyles blow up this season.

Stat gurus, did Joey Votto ever end up popping up on the infield this season?

Denard's racked up the passing yards because the other team continues to use one or two spotters on him, thus allowing a lot of single coverage and broken defensive assignments (I love the fake dive and then pass to the slot play). I've seen him miss a lot of deep passes, but I'll give him credit, in the games against ND and Indiana, he was sensational passing the ball on the final drive. -
One of the worst collapses you'll see in the postseason.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 10:34 PM) Thome wasn't very good against LH pitching this year and has had to face two really good left handed starters in Sabathia and Pettitte plus Mo who just kills lefties so his struggles aren't a surprise. Good point, even though I thought Thome's AB vs Robertson in Game 1 with 2 men on was terrible!
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 10:13 PM) This could very well be the case. Or it could be they just don't match-up with a $200 million dollar all-star team. Funny thing is Liriano is their best "postseason-suited" pitcher they've had since Johan.
-
Biggest difference between Twins of the 2nd half and Twins thru first 2 games is Mauer and Thome were two of the best hitters on the planet since the ASB, and they've both been awful vs the Yankees so far. I'm pretty sure Mauer led the AL in hitting since the ASB, and Thome led the AL in OPS.

Shouldn't be with him being guilty of PEDs
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 05:41 PM) If they can keep it up over his hands, they will be fine. The same Paul Konerko that was the best fastball hitter in the majors?
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) We should start compiling a list of players that fit that profile so we know what king of garbage we'll be picking up. Carlos Beltran
-
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 05:24 PM) Wouldn't it be fun to see him and Thome bash our brains in next year? Ugh I'm sure Bobby Jenks or whoever is pitching would continue to give him fastball after fastball.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) They'd have to be blown away to deal him. He's still cheap and under control for two more years. He's only 26 and even though he's underachieved his skill-set, in particular his speed/defense, is rivaled by very few in baseball. And his power picked up considerably towards the end of the year. I'd kill for either him or Kemp. These are the kinda guys you take major gambles on. The possible reward far outweighs the risk. Give me Kemp over Upton any day of the week! Upton is nowhere near as good as he could be, and he's going to get very expensive very soon.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 11:52 AM) If they acquired Crawford, and I believe that is a gigantic longshot, the Sox have not given another team's FA more than $20 million total in 14 years, I think he would play LF, Pierre CF and Rios RF, assuming that didn't mean the end of Alex Rios with the White Sox. Oney hinted in his tweets the White Sox may get what he termed a "real" CF. I thought Rios was fine, but apparently Ozzie projects him more as a RF. Oh hell no....that means we're going after Torii Hunter
-
QUOTE (LVSoxFan @ Oct 8, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) Since it came up, if Paulie's not coming back, who would be the leading suitors for him? Boston, LA teams, Arizona, Twins (if Morneau can't recover)

Tampa gets burned by pitching Chad Qualls, who really has no business being on a postseason roster.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 7, 2010 -> 01:37 AM) I seem to recall Martin being tied to PED's earlier. He went off them and lost a bunch of weight, and this past offseason he regained the weight (and I don't think it was regained in muscle). Martin was tied to alcohol and excessive partying. After watching him last year though, I want no part of him.

With the Reds hitting so many line drives vs Doc, it feels like a pretty weak no-hitter....NOT! It's amazing how that final play could have been such a fluke hit based on the ball hitting the bat.
