  1. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 11:26 PM) You could and that would be the correct thing to do, but if you tend to blame Walker when the Sox hitting goes south, you should blame Cooper when the pitching goes. Jackson didn't pitch very well but he didn't get any help from his defense today . Pierre made a terrible play even though he may have the error changed, and on the triple, while it would have been a good play, Rios took a route a cartoon character would have taken to that ball. These runs in the 6th were on Ozzie as it was quite obvious Jackson was out of gas. Jackson's stuff has been awful since the 120 pitch outing in the home opener. That move to leave him in that long sure paid off. He's given up a ton of hits in his last few outings.
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 11:22 PM) Huh? He's made it be known that his desire is to eventually be manager. This is 100% my personal opinion, but I always found it interesting he never looked for another pitching coach position. Thus, I wondered if maybe he thought he'd be next in line for Sox job.
  3. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 11:20 PM) The 2005 title probably did more harm to this organization than it was worth. OG/KW are now JR's "boys." OG was given a lifetime pass to be the worst manager in baseball, but hey, he won us a title! FALSE.
  4. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 11:19 PM) What's Don Cooper's excuse? Fire Coop, he can't fix 'em. The scary thing is that it's possible they'll promote Cooper to manager if Ozzie gets let go.
  5. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 11:18 PM) There is literally nothing about this team that gets me excited. Santos and Quentin are the most exciting players on this team.
  6. Edwin doing his best to match Hudson's ERA to benefit J4L's argument. You'd have to think we'll try to trade him at the deadline if we're out of contention. Balta, what type of FA would he be, A or B?
  7. Oy...we're sick of your s*** too Walker http://www.csnchicago.com/04/23/11/Walk-ta...&feedID=661
  8. Our hitters reacting like they've never seen a 93 mph tailing fastball on the outer half.
  9. QUOTE (oldsox @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 09:59 PM) Dunn is a classic zero tool player. We have him for another 600++ games. Yeah, no...his power is definitely a plus tool
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) I'm not sure they make much of a difference either but it sure as hell is clear that Walker sucks at helping hitters make adjustments. My point exactly.
  11. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) Our only players who have been above average according to UZR is Konerko (but UZR doesn't work well for firstbasemen) and Quentin. Everyone else is either below average (Pierre, Rios, Beckham, Alexei, Morel), or not qualified yet (Teahen, Vizquel, Lillibridge). Beckham's been very good this year defensively.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) Anyone have on of those memory erasers from Men In Black for Gordon can forget everything Walker has told him? At this point, you fire Walker with the hope of salvaging Beckham's career. I don't care if hitting coaches don't make a difference, but why not try before you eventually give up on Beckham after another 1,000 ABs.
  13. Perfect example that AB of Beckham's awful mechanics. He can't come close to getting the barrel to the ball on anything inside. He used to have great bat speed, not it's below average. Greg Walker, save him!
  14. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 10:47 PM) Am I the only one here that still thinks we get a W today? Only if we get to face Jenks
  15. Who would have ever predicted coming into year that Quentin and Beckham would be only respectable defensive players?
  16. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 09:23 PM) Didnt they sub him out and then back in for the last possession? Nope, he fouled Dunleavy.
  17. One thing with Dunn is that if he can't turn it around against a sinker baller like Penny, then it might be a while still before he gets going. Scherzer will probably overmatch him tomorrow.
  18. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 10:31 PM) No, the worst game was when they screwed it up against Tampa Bay and had five runs scored against them in the ninth to lose. We hit great that game and Crain looked fantastic. That team played with a lot of confidence.
  19. QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) so we're looking at being 6-7 games out by May.. lmfao. That's possibly optimistic. There is a report on twitter that says Peavy felt soreness taking off the microphone after his interview today.
  20. QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 10:31 PM) Thank you Dunn for coming off of your steroids before joining this team. Overpaid. Never heard one rumor about him being on steroids. Konerko and him are typically thought of as two of the cleanest players. Right now, he just can't hit the ball. He'll still end up with 35-40 homers and a lot of walks.
  21. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 10:30 PM) According to WAR, Carl Crawford is the worst player in the MLB this year. Rios if the 5th worst, and Pierre is the 7th worst. Lol, that's sooooo bad. And then there is Quentin who has been the 7th BEST player in baseball this year. Who's 2-3-4
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 10:27 PM) Yeah, you got the point. Sigh. Sorry, I'm just really frustrated by what I'm seeing on field today. Almost like they expect to lose. I'm trying to be optimistic that this is just a terrible slump....
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 09:26 PM) Oh come on fathom, you're more of an adult than this. He does have toe pain that he's complaining about. He's had it for 5 years, but decides to complain about it now.
  24. At this point, if we can put Rios on waivers and have someone claim him, you drive him to the airport. That's one contract that would be great to rid ourselves of.
  25. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 23, 2011 -> 09:24 PM) First triple of Alex Avila's life. Thanks, Rios. I'm almost wishing we had DeWayne Wise or Brian Anderson back, along with all the money KW's been wasting on Rios for most of the last 3 seasons. ALMOST? Hell, I wish there was a Scream 5 out for me to go watch and not have this torture on my TV.
