Bringing Back Sox Supporters Section at Comiskey

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 06:29 PM) Did you miss the month of June? I was there for 3 of those games, and swear the loudest the crowd got was during the wave. -
.500, Schmive-hundred. We want winners, dammit

So Manny, Konerko, and Rios get the day off, yet Ozzie still manages to not play Viciedo! Go manage the Cubs you ass and get fired after a week for ripping on the gay clubs in Wrigleyville. -

QUOTE (joeynach @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 08:24 AM) While I like the passion and the fire I dont like this idea for white sox games. White Sox games to me and white sox fans are all about whats going on on the field. To me anything that takes away from the play on the field is meant for other sports or other venues. I think part of being a sox fan and going to a sox game is about being entrenched in an environment which is all about the game, teams performance, players, managers, etc. Dont take the purity out of the game and fan experience, leave the shenanigans to the soccer people who care more about marking a parade out of the bleachers. Hate to break it to you, but the most excitement I saw at the park this season in the 12 games I went to was the wave taking place in the crowd. -
QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 02:29 AM) If the whole purpose of this thread is continual b****ing about KW, I will close it. Sorry, I'm not intentionally singling you out, fathom. Your post is just the most recent. No problem knight, I totally understand. I expect this trade and the negative ramifications it will have on our payroll next season to be even more in the spotlight if Konerko leaves and then Jackson is turned around and traded at the deadline next year.

Daniel Hudson, why can't you suck? -
Another absolutely dominating start for Hudson. He's easily one of the best young pitchers in baseball in the NL now. Next time you want to make a trade KW...please don't!

This is like your girlfriend being so afraid that you'll dump her that she'll tell you she's going to date your best friend if you break up. Good riddance b****!

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 26, 2010 -> 01:02 AM) f***, Ozzie was just quoted this morning saying how he didnt want to talk about all of this because he didnt want the team and his wife and kids to keep hearing about all of this every day. SHUT THE f*** UP ALREADY It's to the point that KW or Ozzie has to go once the season is over, and according to Peter Gammons, there's not a chance in hell KW is leaving.
-
Please go to the Cubs, Ozzie. Talk about other positions when you're under contract with the Sox is f***ing pathetic.

Screw you ozzie for not playing Viciedo against a LHP (especially one he's hit well). Can't Manny just fake injury so we don't have to keep playing him? -
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Sep 25, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) If it turns out true that we passed on Melo to keep Noah, entire front office should be fired. Couldn't agree more, especially if the plantar fas flares up again.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 25, 2010 -> 04:14 PM) I'm going to the game. I'll be sitting behind the dugout seeing if I can get Ozzie to do a Ron Artest impersonation. I love you Ginger! -
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 11:19 PM) And back to 2005 for the last time. They didnt win in spite of Ozzie at all. That was clearly one of his best managerial performances as he played his cards almost perfectly from beginning to end, especially in the playoffs. Putting El Duque in against Boston, Bobby in early against Bagwell, leaving Cotts in to strike out the side, finding Bobby immediately after his blown save, leaving the pitchers in in LA, Geoff Blum, Willie Harris, aligning the rotation so Freddy pitched on the road, Dye in the 3-hole. He made alot of top notch moves that postseason and leading up to it, I am not sure how you can ever state the opposite. Great post Rock. He led that team to the championship, and he deserves a ton of credit for it. The reason I said 2005 shouldn't be taken into consideration is because any grace period needs to have been erased by now.
-
I hate how we can't even have logical discussion about this. When debating whether or not Ozzie should be the manager of the Sox in 2011 and/or longer than that, 2005 shouldn't even come into consideration.

Best part of Modern Family was when the little boy asked his mom what happened at the Rose Boewl, but the dad thought he meant what happened to his wife not looking as good as she used to in the picture from the Rose Bowl.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 04:33 AM) You don't think a cocky guy like Ozzie deep down looks down on Kenny cause he was a lousy ballplayer and Oz, though he tended to swing at every pitch which was maddening, was a good ballplayer? Big league ballplayers are cocky. That's why Ozzie doesn't give a f*** what the fans say. He'll win any shouting match with KW or a fan, cause he's ozzie. a giu spoiled by the life and money accorded a big league starter/huge contributor. He was a good ballplayer and I think you are naive to think Oz doesn't shove that back in KW's face. KW was a horrible ballplayer; Ozzie a good one. I'm not saying a bad ballplayer can't be a good GM. I think it's something Ozzie can scoff at Kenny during their "discussions" about teams. Yes KW is his "boss" -- sort of. Please stop acting like Ozzie was Barry Bonds. I've never heard a worse argument than the one you're trying to make about Ozzie not respecting KW because of their athletic ability. If he really is that arrogant, then why the hell would you want him managing your favorite team?

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 04:47 AM) Very rarely though do good signable prospect guys fall. It's usually guys who either want over slot money or guys represented by Boras. Yep, being higher gave the Sox a greater chance to get a guy that fell. In the 20-30 range, the Sox aren't likely to draft a guy that's falling because they're not going to go over slot.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 04:15 AM) I just don't see why a couple draft slots matter. There are too many examples of busts in the first round anyway. Wasn't Ben Davis a first round draft pick? I just can't believe you'd be foolish enough to continue to have this thought process after the early contributions we've received from Beckham and Sale the past few years.

Tribune reporting Floyd to see specialist L. Yocum...GULP! Not supposed to be serious, but who knows.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 11:31 PM) After reading Cowley's story, I don't see how anybody could want Kenny over Ozzie. Kenny sounds like an egomaniac with his restauranting and pretty boy attitude. His acquisition of Teahen was a joke and his trade of Hudson for a similar type pitcher was equally dumb. As far as Ozzie, he is an egomaniac as well. But at least he was a far better player than Kenny. Give Ozzie another GM to work with. Yep, there was a lot of hard hitting, indisputable evidence in that article about Kenny Williams turning into a diva. And as for you saying Ozzie was a better player than Kenny....well, I think I've heard it all now. But hey, KW's kids are better athletes than Ozzie's!
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 12:28 AM) A higher pick means nothing. There are too many variables in the baseball draft to think a spot or two matter. I'd think you would say Teahen "screwed us over" by maybe impressing somebody to not get rid of him this winter. Hopefully Kotsay simply won't be invited back. Thanks for the victory today, though, Mark and Mark. I'll take it. This team won't lose 13 in a row and tie for the all time record White sox losing streak. Oh great, posts like this again

QUOTE (elgonzo4sox @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 10:14 PM) Doesn't matter much today, since the next game is not until Friday night. Thornton will get rest, and since the games don't matter too much now anyway, he's not critically needed on Friday or any other game for the rest of the year. It's more about protecting Thornton, who had some health issues a month ago after extending himself in a game.
-
Nice comeback, but I hate seeing Thornton pitch 2 innings in a game.

QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Sep 22, 2010 -> 10:23 PM) That Boffie Bonser. What a guy! Looks like a Dennis Eckersley against us. I ike Morel's glove, but he needs work at the plate still His balance is really bad at the plate, and he's looked silly against slow and outside pitches.

9 in a row, here we come!! Yep, these boys haven't quit.
