White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 01:17 AM) At least Peavy shows that he cares. Who cares

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 01:14 AM) Rios is ending up to be one of KW's worst acquisitions. Peavy's in the driver's seat for that. As J4L says, the summer of 2009 was very bad.

How many more years is Rios under contract?

Rios pulls ANOTHER outside pitch. Just DL him!

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
Dunn with good contact again. Damn the Yankees positioning.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:59 AM) I vote for bringing up Dayan and telling him to learn 3B, really. Either that or stick him in right, put TCQ in left and put someone else at leadoff. This lineup needs some punch and yes, we make way too many easy outs... I'm all for that also. If Viciedo was so untouchable last season, it seems odd that the plan was to keep him in the minors all this year.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:58 AM) Morel had an ISO of .183 in AAA last year. .185 in his brief stint with the Sox. Those are decent marks that represent a 15-20 home run hitter. Morel looks like he might hit 1 home run all year right now. The best observation, in a serious tone, I've heard all year was when I was at the Cell and a fan literally asked "why is Humber batting" when it was Morel up.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:56 AM) I'm pretty sure he does have power. The problem is that he's on the 2009 Josh Fields hitting routine right now. How does Fields go from hitting 23 homers in about 300 ABs in 2007 to becoming a power-less below .400 SLG hitter in a matter of 2 years? Sure, his 2008 was pretty bad, but I don't see how a player's ability to hit for power can be killed that easily unless he was hurt and is still hurt. It looks as if Morel is on the same road. He had a lot of power last year and had a couple of home runs in a very limited stretch. Then he comes into this year hitting nothing but singles and ground balls. Something's gotta give. I'm not saying Morel is anywhere the power hitter Josh Fields was in 07, but it's just a weird trend that I see. AND WTF, STOP WITH THE f***ING BUNTS! He's never hit for a lot of power. At best, scouts projected 15-20 in the majors. But yes, it's pathetic how awful Walker is with young talent.

3 outs made that went about 10 feet in the air that inning. Not sure I've ever seen that.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:52 AM) this lineup just makes tons of outs...tons of EASY outs It's insane, isn't it? So easy to pitch to our hitters. This is the worst team offensive slump I've ever seen. Are you f***ing kidding, 2 bunt outs in an inning in this park?
-
White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
Well, that was a pathetic at bat by Morel. He'll be back in Charlotte by mid May. You really shouldn't be playing in our park with a corner infielder who has no power.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
That was impressive by Humber. BTW, great swing by Dunn last inning!

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:38 AM) Aaron Boone nails it - Beckham and Rios are getting started too late. Everyone sees it but our manager, Greg Walker, and our players. DJ and Farmer have been RIPPING on Beckham's mechanics for two weeks now.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 12:35 AM) And that is why you bunt sometimes. Cause Rios couldn't move the runners over. FAIL Yep, bunting in the 2nd inning against the Yankees with Humber on the mound is a great recipe to win a game. It would also take a perfect bunt to get Konerko to 3rd.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
So what is everyone's take on Rios having no power anymore? Even when he hits it well, it's going like 300 feet.
-
White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
Awesome AB Rios...that 2-0 pitch was over his head. Rios is well on his way to being worst player in baseball now that Crawford's doing better.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 10:19 PM) Do they consider his change-up to be an offspeed pitch? Tampa had a handful of meatballs on those pitches from him in his last start.

White Sox (Humber) v. Yankees (Burnett) 6:05pm
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) Hope Humber is up for the challenge of Yankee stadium and comes out and has the game of his life. Over/under on home runs by Yankees is 2.5. With Humber's poor control and his tendency to hang offspeed pitches, Jeff Gray and Tony Pena are going to get a lot of work tonight. Hopefully our offense ends their hibernation and wins this game.

Sick of the negativity
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 12:13 AM) Oh, so drafting trout would have been a "Fire KW!" move. I have no problem at all with the Mitchell pick (as you can tell by the thread).

Sick of the negativity
No one wanted us to take Trout cause BA a few weeks earlier said he was a grinder in the Rowand mode.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
How about Josh Johnson? I believe that's 4 starts this year that he's had a no-hitter into the 6th. Also, Stanton's 8th inning homer is an absolute blast.

This year will end before the trade deadline with a firesale
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 10:33 PM) A very interesting name that popped up during the off-season was the Cubs. Apparently with the contracts they had coming off of the books in 2011, they were hoping to backload a deal. The Cubs were Dunn's first choice, but they decided against him. At this point, they're full steam ahead for Pujols or Fielder.

White Sox vs. Detroit 12:10 on WGN
Did he really think Morel and Lillibridge were going to do anything at the plate today? QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 06:59 PM) I can't believe more people aren't calling for his head. He's just going through the motions now.

White Sox vs. Detroit 12:10 on WGN
Ozzie's not even trying anymore. I can't believe he let Lillibridge bat there.
