That wasn't a difficult play. I hate having players with NO power.

Another just dreadful AB with RISP. Teahen's hot streak to start the year seems to be over...way to keep him in the lineup when he's going good.

Alexei's actually showing much better patience at the plate it seems. Now or never boys!

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 12:41 AM) Ozzie has them fired up! I hope we see Ozzie and fired in the same sentence more. We go winless on this road trip, and I'm confident we'll see a new manager next Friday in Chicago.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 12:39 AM) I'm shocked that we have zero runs. This is the worst baseball we've played in a long time. So flat and really unfocused.

Humber doesn't look good at all again. I can't believe Kotchman is messing us up. Way to get the third out guys!

QUOTE (DukeofChicago88 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 11:54 PM) Does Rios have any real power? That ball looked good off the bat but it barely reached the warning track. Nope

DJ was blaming Cox for the first inning. Also interesting that he was bashing Beckham's mechanics as well.

This Padres offense is so freaking pathetic. 16 LOB, not a hit in sight with RISP. And just like that, Cubs win. They're getting no hitting lately, but still won 3 of 4.

Peavy had rotator cuff tendinitis
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 08:46 PM) So wait, there are people that are happy that he's feeling discomfort because it's in his lat? It's Jake Peavy dude! He could be pissing blood, yet we'd get articles titled "Jake Peavy urinates, says blood in urine is just normal soreness" and people would be happy.

2011 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 07:58 PM) The Padres lineup is just atrocious 4 of 8 starters under .200, and their leadoff man with an OPS below .400. The offenses in the NL are worse than ever.

BTW, I love the Brewers philosophy of putting a .500 OPS hitter in front of Braun and Fielder. You don't want Fielder's RBI totals to be too high and allow him to get an even bigger contract.

Cardinals giving Westbrook that extension looks like a terrible move. He has nothing!

Indians
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 04:37 PM) I think they're more on the "they need to show up in order to support the existence of the franchise" level. I have not heard anything relating to the franchise being in trouble. Isn't Roger Dorn still the owner? Anyways, for those saying we haven't ripped their attendance, that's false. The second game of the season, there were a handful of posts amazed by the lack of fans in the stands.

What is Going Wrong With the Sox
And if you have one during the 3rd week of the season, who knows how many more you'll have the rest of the year.

2011 MLB Catch-All Thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 05:36 PM) Especially with how young that team is, I don't think that's foolish at all. They have the luxury of playing for time and pretty much expecting to get better, not worse. And even if they struggle this year, with Wainright out, the NL Central is totally winnable for them. Like I said, I felt they overachieved last year. Everyone was concerned about the innings Leake and Wood threw, and they probably would have been wise to invest in a set-up man instead of Masset.
