Watching Beckham's AB from last inning, you have to wonder why in the hell is he playing? It doesn't take a doctor to realize he's not close to 100%. Gavin continuing his awful stretch run. Both Danks and Floyd have so much ability, but neither has been able to avoid the trend of way too many unwinnable starts.
-
Yay, finally someone has the balls to question the Sox approach on offense, and it's Hawk of all people.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 01:36 AM) I agree I'd rather see somebody young, anybody really, play next year instead of Juan and Omar and AJ. But why blow up the rotation? Cause they're due to make more money than the GDP of third world countries.
-
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 01:35 AM) The point is ... What the f*** does rebuild mean?? Finishing 20 under for 5 straight years instead of 10 over? We need to ride out this pitching staff and change the lineup again. "On paper" our starting pitching and bullpen is supposed to be special. Admittedly we have not seen that on a consistent basis. This starting pitching is not special, and hasn't been for a complete season since....you guessed it, 2005.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 01:34 AM) Uhh... not watching the game but I look at the box score and I see inside-the-park home run? To RF... geez, f***ing Quentin It was a bomb, definitely cleared the fence.

A topic someone asked me about today: was the 25-5 stretch the worst thing that could have happened to the Sox organization? False sense of having an actual chance in the division/American League, and then we lose Hudson and add a big contract for next season were some of the points to consider.
-
QUOTE (daa84 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 01:32 AM) you pitch aroudn him in one inning and it works out for you...then you fail to do the exact same thing 20 minutes later?!? Mauer's only the best hitter in baseball against RHP, IIRC. Steve Stone for Sox Manager!!
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 02:31 AM) Blow it up. This is pathetic. All with two f***ing outs. Seriously, Beckham's throw might have been the worst I've ever seen by a 2nd baseman. He basically needed a cut-off man.
-
Haha, 3-0. Nicely done Gavin and Beckham. Also, how come everyone in the park knew that Span was going to be stealing on the 1-2 pitch besides Ozzie? Even Stone called for a pitch out.
-
Holy cow, Beckham looked like he was 43 years old on that grounder. That was just a pathetic attempt.
-
QUOTE (WinorDie88 @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 02:26 AM) He hit it hard just happened to be right at Valencia. Omar's having a good series offensively so far. Two at bats with runner on 3rd, less than 2 outs, and he hasn't hit the ball out of the infield.
-
Omar with a great game at the plate so far....yuck. It's crazy how similar our offense fades down the stretch every season.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 12:45 AM) Now that's a guy I wouldn't have minded trading Hudson for. He's got serious 5-tool potential and is only 26, I think. It's comical how Hudson is now one of the most untouchable young pitchers in baseball. Even Brewers fans are frustrated they didn't trade for him.
-
Beckham's hand injury must still be bugging him, as he's swinging with no authority at the plate. He hasn't hit a line drive in ages.
-
Fans are going to boo the Sox like crazy if Beckham cannot drive runs in. Ozzie, please give Morel or Viciedo a chance at third.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 01:32 AM) What do you think about Matt Kemp? Word is they're seriously thinking about dealing him. I cannot see the Sox ever bringing him into their organization after the fights he got in with their minor league affiliates. Also, unless we traded Danks, I'm sure Dodgers could get a much better package for him. I will say that the more I watch Quentin, the more I think he's finished with this organization. Hopefully some team views his '08 stats and thinks they can fix him.
-
Haha, watching Quentin face a LHP is just comical. How can Ozzie and Walker even justify putting this guy on the field against a lefty?
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 16, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) who hits 3rd in '11? Probably someone awful like Carlos Beltran
-
Seeing how Pierre has really struggled down the stretch, Ozzie needs to sit him a little more often next season. Juan's not 25 years old still.
-
Another reason to hate Nick Swisher...he's engaged to the delightfully hot Joanna Garcia.

Twins vs Sox 7:10 Start---Liriano vs Danks

QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 04:08 AM) I hope the Twins beat the Reds. Keep it in the Midwest and have the Twins f***ing win it and maybe next year other teams will get fired up to play those dull pieces of s*** for a change. Why the hell would anyone root for our rival to win it all? Also, I'd rather not watch the WS games in that pathetic, boring park -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 04:00 AM) Reds/Rays would be the perfect World Series. Reds/Rangers would be better. I don't like the Rays this year, for some reason. -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 03:58 AM) I think White Sox fans know better. With the exception of one "lucky" post-season game (because of the coin flip, a rule later changed), that's the ONLY possible reason to have hope...but yet here we are with another late-season, second half home game against Minnesota "choking" it away with the bases loaded and the relievers blowing up in innings 7-9. The real concern is that the Twins are showing no signs of slowing down in the coming years. With their increased revenue, strong farm system, and Mauer already signed long-term, the only chance for them to fall down in the AL Central is if Morneau never returns and guys like Duensing, Slowey, and Gibson can't produce. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 03:55 AM) s***, forgot about Morel. After this series ends, Ozzie better not think of playing the 43 year old "phenom" over Morel. Maybe Manny will just fake another injury again, and then Viciedo can DH.
