  1. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 02:41 AM) Speaking of Manny, anyone notice that he stopped hitting the day that Stoney said that Walker was making suggestions to him about his lack of power? I was wondering why the Sox were making so many comments about Manny's lack of power. Everyone in baseball knew that he had turned into a different type of hitter once he got off the PEDs.
  2. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 02:39 AM) Good riddance to Torres. I never want to see him again. f***ing pathetic. If it makes you feel better, Ozzie hates him.
  3. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 02:38 AM) Yeah, hate to say but I'm losing faith. And that makes me sick. Unlike the last decade though, I don't feel bad about losing out to the Twins. In the past, the Sox were the more talented team. This year, that's not even close to being the case. They're 25 games over .500 without Nathan all season and without Morneau for almost 3 months. You tip your cap to them if they end the season with 95+ wins.
  4. Wow, PLEASE let this be the last time Torres ever pitches for the White Sox.
  5. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 02:34 AM) So we lose a game in the divisional race, the wild card race, and possibly our 5th starter. Awesome. And maybe our DH for a few games and our 2nd baseman for possibly an extended period.
  6. I've always wondered how bad the hitters in the IL must be for Carlos Torres to get them out? He throws that terrible 87 mph cutter every pitch and it's consistently up in the zone with little movement.
  7. Looks like Torres was supposed to hit Wells there. Hopefully it's the end of Torres in the Sox organization.
  8. Ozzie better have Torres throwing at a Tigers hitter.
  9. Worst thing is this just means Kotsay will find his way into the lineup tomorrow with Manny out. And please, don't bat Teahen 5th. One of the weaker 5th hitters in the AL in a long time.
  10. 4 batters retired, 3 homers allowed for Manuel. Is he in the Majors due to a Make-A-Wish agreement?
  11. Ok Ozzie, even if it's not intentional, STICK UP FOR YOUR PLAYER
  12. QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 01:19 AM) Is Kotsay the worst in baseball? Without a question... Funny thing is he's gotten enough hits to not have an abysmal batting average. However, he does a lot of stuff that hurts your offense. He can't hit with RISP, he's a horrible base runner, and is allergic to having productive outs.
  13. Is Kotsay and his .175 batting average still the worst in baseball with RISP?
  14. Haha, R. Manuel of Boston gave up a homer to the first batter he faced tonight. Worst pitcher I've ever seen in the majors.
  15. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 01:04 AM) Sometimes I think that Carlos Quentin sucks. Sometimes I think that Carlos Quentin is pretty good. He's a weird dude, and a weird baseball player. It's the road...of course he sucks. I do think Boston should trade for him, as he'd be a great player at Fenway.
  16. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 01:01 AM) Here's the point. On their current pace of losing about once a week, they're going to win around 100 games. Anyone think the Twins are a 100-win team? No. What goes up . . . will at least level off. We just need to keep winning. Why aren't they a 100 win team? They're good in every aspect, and have nearly all of their players performing well. People really underestimate how awful their schedule is the rest of the way.
  17. Well, 4.5 games back...hell of a run to keep it this close.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 01:54 AM) That's a hit. Crede, Uribe, Vizquel all make that play routinely. KW really needs to be looking to trade Teahen this offseason. He's an awful fit in the AL, as he'd be much better off playing in the NL.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 12:45 AM) you guys make it sound like they won't lose again I'm sure they'll lose again...but it would be nice if they lose more than once a week. Their starting pitching is doing an amazing job of keeping them in every game and allowing their offense a chance to win the game. Can't believe they're all the way up to 24 games over .500
  20. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 01:37 AM) while it would be best to be 3 or less down in the loss column, that series and the one to close out the season (us vs. indians, them vs. toronto) will be huge even if we are 4 out. Blue Jays are very good. Blue Jays are going to be shutting down Cecil, and they've already shut down Morrow.
  21. Harrell's offspeed pitch isn't good enough for Little League. He needs to just throw 100% sinkers.
  22. Twins winning....made me vomit hearing KC announcers go on about how much Thome has meant to the Twins
  23. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 01:34 AM) How many bad jumps has Juan Pierre gotten this year? Jeez. Pierre would have 25 CS if not for his ability to slide
