  1. Yay for leadoff walks by our pitchers. Can Yost bail us out and bunt?
  2. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 01:13 AM) This game is horse****. SCORE SOME GOD DAMN RUNS. BRUCE CHEN IS THE DEFINITION OF GARBAGE AT THE MAJOR LEAGUE LEVEL. Ugh. Mike Huff just said that Josh Fields is a very good defensive player.
  3. Manny might as well start taking PEDs again and just try to get away with it. It's sad to see the type of hitter he's turned into. He used to be the type of hitter you stopped what you were doing to watch bat. Now, Josh Fields seems to be more dangerous.
  4. QUOTE (Wanne @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 02:07 AM) Seriously...they can't find anybody better than Huff to sit in with Stoney?!? It's insulting to Chicago White Sox fans. Huff is terrible...Frank might be bad, but at least Sox fans care about him.
  5. Ugh...that guy just owns Buehrle. Probably shouldn't have given him a good pitch to hit with an open base.
  6. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 01:51 AM) Carlos Quentin has got to be the single most frustrating player to follow on the team. So much potential and not a lot to show for it. I wonder what his problem is? I don't know, but he's such a liability in the field and on the road and against LHP that I'll be totally ok with it if we trade him this offseason.
  7. QUOTE (WinorDie88 @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) What does it mean to clear your hips when hitting? If he has no chance, we should just start Jones against lefties. Basically, he has no flexibility in his swing. He can't pull the ball with authority against LHP because he's swinging against the weight of his entire body. At least against righties, he clears his front side and can pull the ball with authority. I would play Andruw over CQ every game against LHP, no doubt.
  8. QUOTE (WinorDie88 @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 12:44 AM) Did Carlos forget how to hit? ugh. He has no chance against lefties. His approach is horrible against LHP, as he doesn't clear his hips. Thus, he swings all upper body.
  9. QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Sep 11, 2010 -> 12:43 AM) No one gives a s*** anymore. The Sox crapped the bed once again in the 2nd half. What do you expect? It's true, this crowd is dead. Sadly, we have to listen to Mike Huff, who's just atrocious as an announcer. And it never gets old watching Quentin look clueless against LHP.
  10. Wow, crowd didn't even really react to Manny coming to the plate for his first AB. What a change over the last 72 hours regarding the excitement level.
  11. Nice job by Buehrle of pitching over Alexei's best Rashid Davis impersonation.
  12. Jeez, the bad baseball continues. Didn't know Pods was back on the Sox.
  13. Yay, we have the Joe West crew. Crowd is pretty small tonight.
  14. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 08:47 PM) outside of this year, Garland has been pretty meh since he left the Sox. Dude, he won a WS ring in '05
  15. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 05:57 PM) Come on Fathom...you were one of his harshest critics in the game threads...we can't always play revisionist history here... I was saying his slider was awful compared to reports of it being his best pitch. I was always impressed with his change-up, but he definitely had control issues with his fastball.
  16. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 10, 2010 -> 04:00 AM) Wouldn't that be something? Thome and Konerko both go North and end up beating our brains in. Ugh. Konerko LOVES Thome, so it wouldn't be a ridiculous idea.
  17. One of the more under-reported stories during ST was that Konerko said he thought it would be time to leave the organization after this season. I was amazed there wasn't a lot of talk about it in the media. Due to his success this season, I say its 50/50 if he returns. I'd love to see him back, but if he's going to get 3/30 this offseason, I wish him luck.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 11:02 PM) We acquired him too late. Sox have a lot of work to do in the offseason. Will be hard to improve the team if we don't trade any of our starters and I assume we still want a rotation of Mark, Jackson, Floyd, Danks and Peavy which on paper will be very good. Man with Sale and Thornton and Putz and maybe Jenks ... on paper that's a worldbeater staff. But we know how on paper doesn't mean s*** when it comes to the White Sox, who can't beat teams in their own division. Sale won't be in the bullpen. He'll either be starting with the big league team or starting in the minors. I would be surprised if he's not projected by the Sox to be starting in the majors next season with one of the 5 starting pitchers traded this offseason.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 08:42 PM) He has been the bullpen in the last couple of weeks. That has more to do with it than anything. And one could argue that the reason he had to be "the bullpen" was due to early health issues and ineffectiveness with Jenks causing Thornton and Putz to have way too much put on their shoulders.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 08:46 PM) Manny's been here for like 27 seconds and he's already been a waste of 4 million. Not singling him out or anything. But our season is just about over and he hasn't even had a chance to make a legitimate impact. If the Sox try to bring him back next year, it better not be for anything more than 5 million or so. Watching him play all season, he just doesn't have the same bat speed he once had. He's still such a smart hitter with a great approach, but to pay him as if he's an elite run producer would be silly.
