QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 05:13 AM) And talk about an anti-climactic ending. Seriously, all in all a terrible game. And every message board you visit is claiming that was a bad call and the wrist hitting the ground = play is dead.

Well, looks like the 2010-2011 Championship will be vacated in a few years.

Those that had Auburn +1.5 in the 2nd half have got to be pissed.

Where were the Oregon defenders up the middle on that play? Did they really think Auburn was going to do anything but set up for the FG?

Someone needs to tell Chip that anything up the middle isn't going to work against Auburn's defense.

This game is back to being pretty mediocre. I still don't understand why more teams don't do a qb sneak on 4th and inches at the goal line.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jan 11, 2011 -> 02:42 AM) The 43.7% kind of sucks for a big man like him, although he does shoot some 3s. I'm pretty sure that percentage is his 3 point shooting. Terrible half for the Bulls. Taj must have suffered another concussion, cause he kept losing his man on defense.

There was some joke in "Shameless" about how one of the young high school guys being gay was almost as bad as being a White Sox fan.

2011 TV Thread
"Shameless" on Showtime was a great pilot, despite the joke made about White Sox fans! "Episodes", on the other hand, might have been the worst pilot I can recall ever watching.

Garza to the Cubs.
Garza should do great in the NL, but that's a lot to give up for him. Gives the Cubs maybe the most unlikeable 1-2 starters in MLB history.

Is 2011 make or break for Ozzie?
QUOTE (Ranger @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 10:58 PM) As for the Kotsay thing, it really isn't why they lost the division. They started the season slow on offense (April and May weren't good), but a single hitter wouldn't have changed their fortunes, unless it was Pujols. Plus, there's no guarantee Thome would've even hit during those months either. By June, they were a decent offense and got even better in July and August. Where the Sox really failed last year was pitching issues in August. Too many games and leads blown. They gave away far too many games in the late innings last year, which was not the fault of the offense. Couple that with losing the closer and both setup men to injury at various points, and then the team had real problems. The slow start is what prevented them from running away from the competition and getting a double digit lead when they went 26-5. Kotsay's ineffectiveness during that early part of the season, especially with men on base, had a negative impact on the team.

Nationals broke deal on Dunn/Jackson
QUOTE (scenario @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 07:10 PM) Anyone remember the context of Rizzo's comments on B&B the day after the deadline? My memory is hazy but I seem to remember him saying there was no Dunn deal in the works. Rizzo all but stated he wanted Jackson and Viciedo in return for Dunn, and KW wouldn't even consider trading Viciedo.

Arkansas player blew it by diving on the loose ball after the blocked punt. Should have been an easy TD.

Bill Carmody is a very overrated coach. Well on his way to missing the tournament again, and his coaching in the last 30 seconds of tonight's game was awful.

Tolzien played a really bad game, as he showed no field vision and didn't handle the clock well at all.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 11:17 PM) When we try to acquire a guy who has an NTC clause at the deadline. When that player has a choice of what contender he wants to go to, and he says "I'm not playing for the White Sox and Ozzie Guillen. That guy runs a freaking soap opera over there." It'll happen, and it may not be something that is recognizable at the time, but it will happen. Players pay attention to stuff like this, and it gets talked about. Our own captain talked after he re-signed about how it was a distraction last year.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 04:15 PM) I remember saying at that time that there was more to that story. It was never really explained, which struck me as really odd. Absolutely, and he was never the same after that.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 29, 2010 -> 04:39 AM) Nobody thinks that the other players on the Sox are sitting there thinking "Man, I'm glad someone finally said that s*** about Bobby after how he was acting"? yes, especially the much more conservative players.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
I hate to see this come true, but I called this a while ago. If Oney was right and Jenks started drinking again and was having marital issues during the season, it explains the bereavement leave as well as KW and Ozzie said they were disappointed in Jenks on and off the field. There's still a lot more to this story, so Jenks needs to just be quiet. However, Oney is so ignorant for airing this dirty laundry.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
I think KW gets mad because the organization covers for some of these athletes so much, and then they act like they never did anything wrong on/off the field when they were here and publically question the organization's decision making.

Bobby Jenks to the Red Sox
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 28, 2010 -> 08:11 PM) lol. Fathom predicted this months ago. I'm not even going to comment. I wish Bobby well. Just like when Swisher, Thomas, and others left, I'm sure KW is going to have to bite his tongue about what he really wants to say.
