QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:54 PM) He may only average 24 ppg but hed prolly have 15 assists per game Yeah, cause the Heat have so many great spot up shooters. Ask D. Rose how easy it is to get assists when you have no one that can shoot the ball.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) I bet they do. Gonna be hard with all the tough Western Conference road games, as well as numerous games against Orlando, Boston, etc

Am I the only one that thinks in 2-3 years, Rose will be better than Wade?

QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) Guys, if miami gets Lebron, it's not a contest. That team would not lose. You may be able to shut one down in the course of a game, maybe 2, but just one of those guys can win singlehandedly. It's over for the NBA if that happens. MAYBE kobe/gasol can beat them. MAYBE. Role players won't make or break the Heat.

Brad Miller is the Heat's main target if they sign LeBron, FWIW

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:43 PM) I'd have a hard time saying no to that right now, although if you still feel Beckham can be what you thought he'd be when you drafted him, such a deal can't be made. But that's might tempting right now with how lost Gordon looks, even if you're getting a rental back for him. You can't do that right now, especially with Dunn not wanting an extension if he's going to be a DH.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:40 PM) GMAB, you think he detached his kneecap and then went and hit two homeruns while playing the field for the rest of the game? This is CQ, if he did something serious he would of been out right after he did his ninja roll after catching Hunters linedrive Check above, I was being completely sarcastic. Ozzie said he would hold him out until Friday. Now, if he's not playing tomorrow, that will be more worrisome.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:35 PM) As I said back on page 62, look ahead about 2 years. Chicago will be a contender due to the continued development of rose/noah/gibson. They've just added an all-star player and people don't think that's an improvement? You guys are nuts. Taj Gibson is 56 years old

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:26 PM) Good, then he should come in on the cheap. Not a chance, they still want the world for him.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) Kevin from "The Office". The basketball scene when Michael found out Stanley couldn't dribble was one of the best moments in the show's history.

QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:28 PM) How about "Lillibridge" why does every s***ty player that comes through town need to get a nickname? It also doesn't f***ing count if you're brainstorming nicknames, it needs to be an organic process that develops over time. Thinking up a "good one" for a player defeats the entire purpose. For me, I called him Lillibomb after he crushed that homer to center when no one was watching the Sox game cause the Stanley Cup finale was taking place. As soon as he has a few bad games, I will no longer call him that.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) IMHO he has huge upside as a hitter. He's 21 that's so young and he's already a masher against lefties. The pitchers will find out you can't pitch this kid on the outside corner because he'll just crush it right. Sooner or later he's going to take his walks when the pitchers learn how dangerous he is. By the time he's 23 he could be a another Pujols in the making. and boom goes the dynamite

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:17 PM) LaRoche + Haren would be nice..... Haren's looked pretty awful this season...tons of pitches up in the zone, and his velocity is down a few mph.
-
QUOTE (T R U @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:18 PM) Why do people keep saying this? The Lakers struggled against a Boston team who NO ONE gave any credit to here, now all of the sudden its different? If Miami gets LeBron they will be the best team in the league next year.. anyone who disagrees is either a bitter Bulls fan or a moron.. That Boston team was fantastic defensively
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) Yeah I don't think he'll be able to score much at all in the NBA, but they won't need him to. I still think they are a defender short in there though, it's their one weakness. Their defense needs to realize it's not all about blocking shots. They tried to block everything vs the Lakers, and it created a ton of easy putbacks, etc.

QUOTE (sircaffey @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) I may have missed this in the million pages, but apparently Rose has been calling and texting LBJ. I'm sure those are some literate texts.

OKC won't reach its potential until their big 3 decide to let the game come to them instead of shooting every time they get the ball. Someone also needs to tell Jeff Green that he's not Dirk Nowitzki.

We all know that Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian rule Miami!
-
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 05:07 PM) I think one of the two big points you made there is the minutes. I think the top 3 might have to play even more minutes than that for Miami, and they're all going to get fouled constantly because none of them are really jump shooters (even though they all can hit jump shots). The other is the issues they have inside on defense, and I'm not sure how they'll address those. Varnado can play defense in the NBA right now

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) I really like Butler. Is he even going to be ready for this year?
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:00 PM) The Nets. They're going after Tyrus Thomas next. wow
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:58 PM) I'll argue he was on said roll when he went down. In fact his last pitch this season was a great pitch with movement and velocity. He was cruising. Yeah, he was throwing as good as he had all season. We're one more injury away from really being in trouble now, it seems.

QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) Travis Outlaw got 35 million. Makes the Boozer deal look even better. VIVA BOOZER! from?
-
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:52 PM) The Thunder will be a real threat this upcoming season and many after that. Durant doesnt show any signs of slowing down and they have a bunch of young talent. Couple of picks and they could really make a charge. I do however think that the Heat picked up a few good pieces in this last draft that are being overlooked. Varnado was a great pick

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 04:47 PM) Anyone who says the "Miami Thrice" and crap players would win titles need only look at the 2003-2004 Lakers. 4 hall of famers on that team and they couldn't win. I think Miami will be a really good team with all three, obviously, but it's not guarantee that they'll win a bunch of rings. I don't think they'd be better than the Lakers with a healthy Bynum. I'd like to see how many injuries Wade would have if he tried to play 45 minutes a game due to their awful bench.
