  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:41 AM) I don't live there, but aren't all teams besides BlackHawks afterthoughts? Nobody in their right minds can be excited about that Cub team? Bulls sucked and aren't going to get Lebron. Sox are 5th in the city right now with regards to popularity, I think we'd all agree. The Bulls/LeBron talk is pretty intense here.
  2. Wow, Washington managing circles around Ozzie here. Got Smoak in there to face the righty.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:39 AM) Ozzie fired, KW takes a President of Baseball Operations type role? We could only get so lucky.
  4. The key is to trade Buehrle while he's still considered a commodity and not an albatross.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 03:37 AM) All the Randy Williams slamming is warranted, and I wasn't in the thread earlier, but seriously what's up with Buehrle? He's been pretty awful for almost a year now. Agreed, some of us are clamoring for him to get sent to the NL.
  6. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 03:36 AM) Haha. I wonder how Peavy feels that his old team has the best record in the NL. Probably thinks they're a bunch of dirtbags!!
  7. Good thing we have that lefty reliever to retire lefty hitters. RELEASE HIM YOU DUMBASSES!
  8. BTW, John Ely doing well again. It's fun to root for him, at least.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:30 AM) Unless we put up some kind of run this month, people are going to be surprised at the level of moves that are made either this trade deadline, this offseason, or some combination of both. This payroll is not sustainable with this level of fan interest. Of course, it's the fault of the men in charge that a team with this much payroll is this pathetic. Agreed, and it's also why I think one or both of KW and Ozzie are going to get fired/re-assigned after this season is over. As someone called us on the radio today, we're the Chicago Afterthoughts!
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:29 AM) Oh goodie, a Randy Williams sighting. I keep hoping for an awful performance to get him DFA'd. We get the awful performance, but he still stays on the roster!
  11. It was over two weeks ago. Twins have played a tougher schedule than we have, and now they have Kubel starting to heat up. Plain and simple, they're a better team than the Sox.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 03:26 AM) Less people at the Sox game tonight than the Hawks game last night, probably haven't had something like that happen since the mid 1990's. Yep, less than 20,100 people on a great weather day (outside of rain for 10 minutes) with no other games in town and some schools out = PANIC
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 03:21 AM) 5.1 for his career, 3.5 so far this year and 3.3 in his final 13 starts last season. I don't feel like his fastball is significantly slower this week. He doesn't pitch inside nearly as effectively as he used to. With him feeling like his stuff is fading, it could be a mental thing as well.
  14. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 03:20 AM) I'll keep Buehrle rather than save 10mil and "gamble" on a couple Wouldn't it be more like 20 mil we'd save if we trade him in the next month?
  15. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 03:17 AM) Since the perfect game: 24 GS 5-12 4.81 ERA 1.45 WHIP 3.45 K/9 2.17 BB/9 1.59 K/BB Yikes! That K rate is way low it seems
  16. Funny that Hamilton tripped over the white line there. Irony!
  17. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:07 AM) At least Gordon's hitting; this game isn't a total waste. And Quentin hit a bomb and looks to have altered his approach! Too bad about the injury to Trayce though.
  18. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:08 AM) And you have far too much faith that the 10+mil saved will be free to spend and not just shrink the payroll Well if the payroll is only going to be a certain amount, then I'd rather it be spread out a little better instead of having an expensive pitching staff with 2 guys showing huge signs of decline.
  19. Who else remembers AJP bombing a 3 run homer off of Chris Ray in 2005? It was 2 days before Palmeiro got suspended.
  20. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:06 AM) If we could get Allen Craig and Tyler Greene from the Cards for Mark, i'd be very pleased. Doesn't Greene suck? He went to GT, and he's a utility player in the majors.
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 02:05 AM) Whoever acquires Mark is going to consider it a good contract. He can still pitch. Of course he can, just watch the 2005 DVD and you'll see how good he was. Face it, he's been pretty awful ever since his perfect game.
  22. BTW, 4 straight losing months for the Sox, and I believe this is the 14th game out of 15 we've lost after a win. It's hard to have any confidence in this team.
