GT - 7/2/10 - Sox in Arlington 7:05 CT
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 05:14 AM) I remember in '08 you said Hamilton might be the most talented player in baseball. I thought you were huffin' paint. But it might be true. As long as he's sober, of course. I really wanted the Sox to trade for him, but then I was scared to death when the Cubs were trying to "re-acquire" him. My brother was around Hamilton a lot a few years ago, and has some very fascinating stories about him.

Can Beckham hit a rocket back to the pitcher? That's about the only suspense remaining.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 05:12 AM) The DH in the American League has a higher impact to the offense than a sophmore 2nd baseman. We decided to retard our offense by putting a subpar hitter in an offensive position. SSI, stop picking on Kotsay/Jones. That position won't make or break this offense! And if it does, don't worry, it's SUPER easy to obtain offensive help at the deadline.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 04:11 AM) Only the Sox could make an 11 game winning streak not 100 percent enjoyable. Just pray KW doesn't sell the farm for a team that needs way more than one addition.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 05:10 AM) Josh Hamilton has lumped himself right in there with Miggy, Morneau and Cano in MVP discussion. Morneau won't win, as his power numbers won't be high enough.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 05:08 AM) Man I have a feeling I'm going to feel sorry for all of our SP in this stretch. This is a typical Texas game. I think it was fathom who said he wouldn't be surprised if we lost by 1 run in 2/3 here (the other game a blowout from whomever) which is usually the case. Mark, your probably gonna lose that bet... though other than Greinke being left in too long, and Greg..... you haven't had a good couple of weeks and your posting has been unbearable to read in game threads lately. I pushed a bet tonight that was awful...under 7 in Atl/Florida. Two blown saves took away a sure win.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 05:08 AM) You mean somebody like Vlad? JGage brought up a good point....we were never going to get Vlad after the awful experience OC had here.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 04:07 AM) Well said. Bosh is acting like this is 5th grade recess or something. Very annoying. Bosh is a tool. Going back to his days at GT, he was always worried about his image while being a total prick behind the scenes.

This whole small ball, no home run approach is really boring. Watching Josh Johnson pitch tonight was a hell of a lot more entertaining.

Ugh, I hate stealing on the 2 strike, 2 out pitch. With our mentally fragile hitters, it almost always results in them chasing a bad pitch.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 05:05 AM) Beckham's performance this year has seriously f***ed this team over. The offense would look so much better if he played up to his ability. agreed

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 05:03 AM) I have no freaking idea how this team went 15-3 against the NL. I know the NL sucks (although not as badly this year) and we had some weak competition, but this team just does not have the offense to put up stretches like that. Certainly not against AL offenses because we just won't get the pitching against them that we did against the NL. If we're going to add a bat, it'd better be a big one and we'd better do it soon if contention is on our minds. We played 4 series against terrible teams, and we played our best series of the year against the Braves (who are much better at home).

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 03:58 AM) fathom, have you gone to any games this year? If so, how do you handle watching this team in person? Been to 5...I'm very calm at them, to be honest. They're also 4-1 at the games I've been at.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 03:57 AM) Well not only that, but there is a lot of unhappiness among important people in our organization right now. This is not the season for an 81 win team. Either have them in contention all season, or let them fall out of the race in the next few weeks. Crap, looks like Quentin forgot how to stay balanced at the plate.

Garcia's doing all he can to keep us in this game. Feels like we're going to need a home run to tie this.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 04:52 AM) If it's possible for an organization in the middle of a pennant race to be a mess, we've pulled it off. We're headed for baseball hell...78-83 or so wins

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 03:48 AM) I think it's pretty clear there is more pressure on KW within the organization than there is on Ozzie. I'm a little concerned he'd overpay to try and make it look like he's giving Ozzie the tools to win this year. Then again, with KW moving to a different position after this season (all signs point to Hahn taking over), KW doesn't have as much responsibility to keep the future intact.

wow, that's a soft grounder! pretty pathetic offensive effort so far, as Lewis is topping out at 91 mph.

Hawk trying to become Pierre's agent tonight? You'd think Pierre hit 3 of the hardest balls in baseball history.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 04:43 AM) You gotta admit. Sweaty Freddy is a pretty good No. 5 starter. He'll give up 2-4 runs through 6 or 7 innings. Not bad at all. Should Rios have had that triple? I only saw it briefly. Would have been a great play. He seemed to stumble a little about as he went for the dive, and might have messed up his vision.

QUOTE (IamtheHBOMB @ Jul 3, 2010 -> 04:41 AM) fathom, KW knows he can't dump those guys without a significant return. That would totally screw this team going forward. Then again, if Flowers, Hudson and Sale are bad -- we are screwed anyway. Yes, but what KW considers a significant return might be different than what we would (ie: 3 months of Adam Dunn is not a sig return)
