  1. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 12:53 AM) For anyone that cares, Trayce Thompson will have surgery and be out a couple of months. Yikes, our two prospects that needed the most seasoning missing almost all of this season.
  2. Wow, that's just a stupid idea. Pierre, STOP BUNTING!
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 12:51 AM) Watch his left shoulder, it stayed perfectly shut. Yes sir
  4. BEAUTIFUL swing by Gordon. He definitely changed his approach a little there. Bonerlicious inning going so far.
  5. Nicely done by Vizquel hitting into that hole. Come on Gordon, have a productive AB.
  6. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 01:46 AM) 3:15 this afternoon. Well, for the record, there's no bigger fans of the leg kick than Darryl Strawberry and myself.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 01:42 AM) Yeah, and you gotta remember, one failed pick is a real dent on a guy who's supposed defensive addition is nearly always making the pick. I was being sarcastic!!!!! I even said in my analysis of Konerko's defense that he's good at picking the ball (even though almost all 1B are). The era of non-athletic sluggers playing 1B is coming to an end in the AL it seems, as the big home run guys are fantastic defensively (Tex/Pena)
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 12:40 AM) I don't think that was a good throw by Mark, but Alexei looks totally out of position there. Paulie probably should have had that scoop too. It was a bad throw to Alexei
  9. Another blown double play. Thanks PK for adding to my comment from earlier today. That was a routine pick.
  10. Harden throwing a good 5 mph faster than he did last time we faced him. Good AB by Pierre got this inning started.
  11. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 12:49 AM) Yet, if he was on the Cubs you would be saying he is about to turn the corner and he was quite a steal You're right, he has similar credentials to D. Lee and Aramis.
  12. If Teahen was a FA after this season, I would say good riddance and I don't really care that he's gone.
  13. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) I'm not sure I'm up for a "platoon" of Vizquel and Nix. That means Vizquel gets the majority of the at-bats, and I just don't see how we can be successful with a line-up that regularly features both of the Powerless Brothers - Vizquel and Pierre. Now while Nix isn't the most optimal selection, at least he offers some power to go along with some decent speed. I'd take my chances starting him most games and then use Vizquel for late inning defense. Can't you add Beckham into the Powerless Trio?
  14. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) It's saying a lot when I think Nix should be the starting 3B with Teahen out. Absolutely, except when we face Dempster next week, as Nix would have no prayer against him.
  15. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jun 2, 2010 -> 12:21 AM) Month is surprising, didn't seem like a major injury at the time. But putting this into some perspective rather than kneejerk emotional reaction: I will wager that a Nix/Vizquel platoon is worse offensively than Teahen. By how much? 5%? 10%? 15% I don't know. I do know it's not like replacing 2010 Rios with D. Wise. Nix/Vizquel are better defensively than Teahen. So we get an upgrade on defense at the hot corner, and we likely get some marginal decrease in our offensive production for 1/9th of the batting order for 1/6th of the season. This is less than a drop in the bucket compared to the relative importance of our starting pitching (which we expected to be among the top few rotations in the league), not being dead last in the AL with a 5.04 ERA. Honestly, I don't care as much about the immediate performance as I do that Teahen was looking better at the plate and we need him to continue to improve over the length of his contract.
  16. By the time Crede would be ready, Teahen will be back and the rest of Crede's buddies might be traded.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:41 PM) I don't put much stock into this. Teams still can't talk to FA's so if he says Chicago or NY, people would be up in arms. Agreed, nothing that he says will really matter once the market opens. He's been well coached about this for a few years now.
  18. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 10:59 PM) I like that the bottom half of the Rangers lineup sucks giant donkey balls. This bodes well for us. 1. E. Andrus, SS 2. M. Young, 3B 3. I. Kinsler, 2B 4. V. Guerrero, 5. J. Hamilton, 6. J. Arias, 1B 7. D. Murphy, RF 8. M. Treanor, C 9. C. Gentry, CF It did last time we faced them, and Treanor destroyed us. Too bad Smoak's not playing, as he sucks right now!
  19. Wow, out a month? Nothing says we believe we have a prayer in this division like playing Vizquel more. Hopefully Nix gets most of the ABs, but I'm not very hopeful about that.
  20. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 11:00 PM) Will you agree that it's fortunate that if we need Brent to play tonight, he can borrow the bat boy's uniform? The only thing that's fortunate is that Lillibridge isn't on the Indians, as he'd probably have a career day against Jake Peavy this weekend.
  21. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:34 PM) fathom is very agreeable today. Not sure if that's a good sign or not. Just saw this post after I agreed with you saying it sucks that Teahen is out right now. I don't know why I'm agreeable today. Maybe I need to go view another thread on here talking about how great Jordan Danks is.
  22. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 1, 2010 -> 09:38 PM) Mark was hitting .364 over his last 10, sad to see one bat that was appearing to wake up now on the DL. Completely agree
