  1. Nix is playing himself out of the organization. Batting .150 with no power and terrible defense. I was a big fan of his, but he looks to have taken a few steps back from where he was last season.
  2. 13 errors for Lillibridge
  3. Floodgates about to open. I'd say I hope we get swept in order to force change, but I'm sure no one will be held accountable.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 29, 2010 -> 12:39 AM) I'm not a sample size person, but I believe the sox brass really s*** the boat on not just promoting the defensive Lucy who I'm confident can hit Castro's line last year minus power, but more speed. Still have no idea why we brought him back after a terrible 2009 season.
  5. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 29, 2010 -> 12:38 AM) QFT. No one apparently knows what patience is. We just are happy-go-lucky, first-pitch swingers. God damn it! This team sucks. It's not just that they're mediocre, but this team is f***ing boring as hell. We don't even have warning track power. It's hard to imagine how you could be more boring than the Sox.
  6. We have a team full of awful hitters, but no one has worse at bats than Castro.
  7. I thought the top of the 1st was a positive though, as Cora didn't have Alexei bunting with Pierre at 2nd.
  8. QUOTE (joeynach @ May 28, 2010 -> 10:35 PM) We need to start firejoewest.com The whole thing has been so blown out of proportion. It's good to see that MLB didn't punish Buehrle, even though he said enough in the media to likely get a suspension. If they would have suspended West, that would have been inappropriate as well.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ May 28, 2010 -> 10:04 PM) Not to mention it seems Ludwick rakes against the Cubs. I was thinking the same, seems like he does a ton of damage at Wrigley.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2010 -> 09:02 PM) I know, i know. Doesn't mean I can't enjoy it. that's fine, if it's the result of a Cubs loss, I'll take the bashing
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) WHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Well of course you came in after the Cardinals retired the Cubs in the 8th (with the tying run on deck). Check around, I wasn't the only person saying the Cubs were creeping back into it.
  12. Nice inning for Motte there. He has pretty filthy stuff now that he has better command.
  13. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 28, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) Balta 2 fathom 0 Well, Cardinals haven't scored any runs against the Cubs mop-up relievers in 8 innings, and Cubs are creeping back into the game.
  14. If you want to talk about rushing decisions, KW made almost all of his moves so early this offseason (Teahen/Jones/Vizquel/Kotsay), he put himself into a situation where he wasn't able to see how much the market was hurting players until it was basically too late with Damon.
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 28, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) I think the writing has been on the wall based upon my gut feelings from what I read/hear. I won't guarantee anything but I think Hahn will get his chance. It won't be KEnny getting fired or anything, he's a great GM, more that I think he is tired of the constant day to days of being a baseball GM, especially the way he handles being a GM. Like I said, just my 2 cents. And regarding Ozzie, the players started zoning him out last year so now that he has another year of more guys zoning him out, I think he'll end up going somewhere else. HE just doesn't have a style that leads to a long shelf life. KW said a few weeks ago that it's getting close to the time for him to relinquish his position and relax more.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 28, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) Well if you didnt watch the games then I think thats what you would use to evaluate him. Take last night for example, everything he hit was hard, but came up with one hit. Someone who hasnt been watching would say it wasnt a good game, when in fact he squared up the ball almost every time he made contact. I see him coming out of it this weekend to be honest. Like you said, I don't care what his batting average is right now. I'd rather he have a game like last night where he hits everything hard and gets one hit than a game where he gets two infield singles and strikes out the other at bats. The problem is that every time it looks like he's coming out of it, he'll have a 2 game stretch where he strikes out 6 times and looks overmatched.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 28, 2010 -> 12:45 PM) We never got all of the details for obvious reasons, but I got the impression that JR bailed him out financially more than once. KW sort of alluded to that stuff in his rant after 2005 when we let Frank walk. It wasn't gambling with Frank, it was failed business endeavors.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ May 28, 2010 -> 04:05 AM) BTW Kobe never makes GW shots in the playoffs. He hit a pretty memorable one against Phoenix a few years back. Game-winners or not, he's playing amazing basketball right now.
  19. That Ron Artest interview has left me speechless.
  20. QUOTE (Brian @ May 28, 2010 -> 04:35 AM) At a boy, Artest! HA The disgust in the crowd when he shot that was awesome!
