haha, this is comical. Andruw Jones is a clown on the field the last month or so. -

Holy crap, Peavy has nothing tonight. Cleveland is putting great swings on him. His slider is about as bad as it's been all season. -

Peavy just laid another meatball there to get hammered. Another game where everyone's just going through the motions. Hey Jake, the #9 hitter in the AL can actually hit! -

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 25, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) This is starting to feel like a "tip your hat" game. I don't like it. Shocked that there's been one hard hit ball, and it was by Rios. -

Talbot is striking out way too many hitters for being a non strike out pitcher. Sox hitters are taking way too many strikes. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 25, 2010 -> 11:31 PM) I wish Carlos Quentin would go back to 2008. Maybe he can star in Lost II, and go back to 2008. It's amazing how much he struggles hitting hanging offspeed pitches. -

Bill Melton was really ripping on Andruw Jones in the pregame. He's pretty much lost at the plate right now. -

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ May 26, 2010 -> 12:20 AM) What do ya know? Teahen with a nice defensive play. Is it just me or does it look like he palms the ball when he throws to 1st? Yes, it's strange. He's so over-the-top with his throwing mechanism. -

Peavy has an excellent fastball so far, but he's throwing too many pitches over the plate. That 2 strike pitch to Branyan was meat. How did they give Choo a hit? -

QUOTE (joeynach @ May 25, 2010 -> 10:45 PM) Slumping Paulie hitting 4th >> .190 Hitting Kotsay Clown Batting 5th Not really, Kotsay's putting much better swings on the ball right now than Konerko. Konerko's body language at the plate has been awful, so it's a good day off with a very early game tomorrow. -
Jermaine Dye is one of the most respected offensive players in Sox history on this board. A lot of us were even willing to overlook his tank job during the 2nd half last season, as well as his poor attitude, and welcome him back this season. Dye, IMO, is the most significant free agent signee in Sox history.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 25, 2010 -> 06:34 PM) Yeah, July 5 down 4-3 in the 8th, he hit a 3-run bomb vs. the Rays. Also, one week earlier he hit a solo shot in the 13th inning off Rodney to win in Detroit Haha, I remember that as well. I'm pretty sure a lot of us were complaining that Frank was trying to hit home runs every time up. I'm also pretty sure that was the game where we all realized Pods couldn't play CF.
-
Frank's walkoff bomb was against the Twins the year before I believe, and that was the day after we acquired Alomar and Everett...and the day before the Koch/Crawford implosion. Frank didn't have any walkoffs I can remember in 2005, but he did have a huge 3 run homer against Tampa Bay around the ASB in the 8th inning.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 25, 2010 -> 04:34 PM) Hermanson did contribute. He gave up the game-tying double in the 8th inning of WS Game 3. If he didn't do that, then Blum would have never hit his GW 14th inning homer, Widger would never get an RBI with the bases-loaded walk, & Marte wouldn't have gotten the win in that game. Hermanson blew a lead, just to allow 3 other players to contribute in that game, who otherwise really did nothing in the playoffs. Marte was one routine grounder away from being an absolute hero in that game.

I don't think I've ever been as angry in my life as when Hermanson was brought in instead of Jenks in Game 3.

Cincinnati would be a great fit

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 25, 2010 -> 02:33 PM) What's really amazing is that almost every player on the playoff roster did something pretty big at some point in the playoffs. The only guy that I can't recall doing anything in the postseason was Timo. Timo and Dustin Hermanson. Besides those two, everyone contributed.

Need to keep finding ways to get runners on for Rios. Also, stop bunting in front of him so the opposition can set up the double play with an intentional walk. Ozzie needs to realize PK and Jones have cooled down, and Rios is our biggest threat.
-
Nice play PK!!
-
15 errors from the left side of the infield already!
-
QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 25, 2010 -> 12:55 AM) Who's pitching the 6th? Santos
-
What's Pierre success rate on bunts this season? Can't recall more than one or two he beat out.
-
Teahen actually made that play a lot more difficult than it should have been, but still up 3 going to the pen.
-
Teahen has just horrific footwork at 3rd base. 8 errors for someone with no range 40 games in is pathetic.
