  1. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 21, 2010 -> 03:04 AM) cubs probably have the best bench, hitting and pitching coach in baseball...and the worst GM Duncan is better than Rothschild. Seems like each year, he transforms a washed-up starter into an above average pitcher.
  2. Andruw's season is following the exact same pattern as his season last year.
  3. #2 hitter usually needs to take a pitch or two when leadoff hitter gets on. Also, well done Alexei!
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 21, 2010 -> 02:01 AM) Real good since that disaster against the Brewers. And Ubaldo is 1-hitting the Astros through 6 tonight. Look for Lincecum to SO at least 15 guys as he's up against the Diamondbacks. Strasburg might make his ML debt June 4th. Say what you want about the NL, but the arms are filthy. Agreed, the unders are set so low in the NL these days. I saw where a scout said that Leake is his favorite young pitcher...until Dusty ruins him.
  5. Beckham's first move of his swing continues to be flying open. Him and Quentin look the same up there....the Bust Brothers really could use a new hitting coach.
  6. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 21, 2010 -> 02:55 AM) i like that you watch the game with the radio on - I don't blame you. Don't usually do it, but wife is cleaning so it's hard to hear the broadcast.
  7. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 21, 2010 -> 01:54 AM) Thank god for Extra Innings. Gettin' ready to watch my true love Clayton Kershaw. How's he been looking lately? U. Jimenez is the most filthy pitcher I've seen all year.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 21, 2010 -> 01:53 AM) C'mon now. Of all the things you could criticize Kenny for having no balls is certainly not one of them. He's all talk, he keeps saying that if the team doesn't play better, people will lose their jobs. KW picked an awful time this last offseason to let Ozzie take over the organization.
  9. I wish Quentin didn't get a hit on that swing. As Farmer was talking about, he's flying open way too much. Getting a bloop hit on a pitch the old him would have crushed isn't going to make him change his AWFUL mechanics.
  10. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 21, 2010 -> 02:44 AM) What changes can be made in reality...fire Walker????? guillen does not give a s*** about OBP and as long as he is running the team OBP will not matter KW/Ozzie/Walker all need to be fired, and Cooper's not exactly kicking ass this season. We look like the Mariners/Orioles of a few seasons ago where there's 100 million dollar payroll with just too many mediocre players.
  11. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 21, 2010 -> 02:41 AM) Like from being terrible to below mediocre-that's about the best it will get. Get rid of them all...if firing KW is what's needed to have someone with the balls to make changes, then get rid of his ass.
  12. If it makes people feel better, even Farmer is saying changes need to be made. This team is just so boring, every offensive game is the same.
  13. QUOTE (JuiceCruz16 @ May 20, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) Well Knox's uncle has spoken to the rumors. He confirmed that Knox was not at Ga. Tech this weekend as some reported, but said that Knox will not make a commitment at his press comference today either. He is reported as saying earlier that Carolina is the favorite after his vist to Chapel Hill for whatever that's worth. This is getting hilarious he has 1 freakin year of eligibility left and only averaged like 5 points and 3 rebounds for Alabama last year. And his uncle is 100% wrong. I don't know who's paying him to say what he is, but three different GT players posted on their twitter accounts yesterday how they were hanging out with Knox. I agree it's funny he's getting this much attention, as he's a very mediocre player.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 20, 2010 -> 08:54 PM) About 2-3 weeks ago it was obvious on air that Beckham was flying open on everything. It's so true, and Beckham has grounded out weakly to the pitcher it seems so often this year. Even the drive to right field last night wasn't a very smooth swing. If you want a fun promotion, just tell everyone to go down the right field line when Beckham is batting, and all 250 people at the game will catch a fly ball. He has probably driven fewer than 5 line drives to left field all season.
  15. What's with the delay in the Cubs game?
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 20, 2010 -> 03:07 AM) I wouldn't say they stuck with everybody. Dye, Thome, Crede, Uribe, Pods, Garland, Contreras, et. all, there are others are long gone. Most teams probably would have fired the batting coach by now. I doubt teams with similar postseason history as Chicago would have fired the manager by now. Jeez Greg, do you get royalties every time you mention the Sox won the WS? At what point do you move on? When complete apathy sets in?
  17. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 20, 2010 -> 03:43 AM) One guy had a legitimate chance for the MVP; another was 2nd in the ROY voting and the other was basically an overnight sensation last year. I've never seen such a drastic fall by 3 guys on the same team in such a short amount of time. This organization is in a lot of trouble right now. I don't care if we lose every game the rest of the way, as long as Beckham/Quentin start turning it around.
  18. Wow, what a pathetic AB by Ramirez. Great pitches to hit, and can't do anything with it. I wonder what tomorrow's closed door meeting will be about?
  19. Hitless game for the bust brothers (Beckham and Quentin)
  20. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ May 20, 2010 -> 03:29 AM) you ask whats going on and its quite easy. There pressing and it's like walking on egg shells on the team. The confidence isn't there and when you press the mistakes will happened We hear that all the time. Either get tougher players, or find a manager/hitting coach that can relax the guys. I'm sick of hearing that f***ing excuse.
  21. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ May 20, 2010 -> 03:23 AM) I've been invisioning best case scenario for this offense...and it's still not good enough to compete IMO. Well, during the offseason, we talked about this and there were just too many "ifs" needed for things to go very well.
