QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:40 AM) Teahen still finding ways to kill Mark Buehrle This made me chuckle. I'm excited to watch Peavy tomorrow.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:38 AM) Great pitching , been in almost every game , hitting will get better . Rios doesn't look as bad as last year. The lineup has guys capable of hitting 15+ HR's at all but leadoff and catcher. Jones might not be as terrible as we all thought. Pitching pitching pitching. Since I hear so much about the hitting. How is our pitching "great"? Danks and Floyd have been good. Buehrle's had one great start, and two not very good ones.

Awesome job pulling him Ozzie! Go back to chatting with Omar in the dugout.

Pull Buehrle Ozzie, he's not going to get the win.

Wow, finding new and not exciting ways to lose games.

Buehrle's lucky he didn't tear his ACL.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:33 AM) What is there to be so positive about, honestly? Tell me? And thats a silly statement, go to the gamethread for the last game we won, and see how many 'negative' posts I made. I've been around here long enough to give props when its due, but to also point out the glaring bad parts of this team too. Teahen looks a lot better than he did a week ago.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:32 AM) Baseball is filled with mediocre pitching. The AL is? It's pretty damn strong with pitching. Wait until we face Tampa next week.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:29 AM) You are mistaken . The post that started this off was one that said getting Gonzales wouldn't help , to which I posted "how absurd". It wouldn't help cause it's just not realistic, especially given how awful Garcia looks. People think we're the only team that is interested in Gonzalez, but unlike Peavy (in which KW was the only one really pursuing him), Boston would surely be able to give up more.

Nibbling like crazy, but this umpire sucks.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:27 AM) Nothing wrong with being a realist. Maybe I just like balance. Try counting your negative posts in a loss and your positive posts in a win. I'm just saying if you like the Sox most of the time I don't see it. Go back and read the game threads. I'm one of the only ones to comment on nice defensive plays, and I ALWAYS say nice things when players do well.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:27 AM) Quentin is just awful now too. He doesn't know how to take pitches apparently. He's doing what he did last year where he's either home run or nothing. He's going to be among the leaders in GIDP.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) So we're fans of the enemy because we're realistic about what to expect from a badly put together 'smallball' A.L. team? If Liriano is actually "back", the AL Central is over already. However, there's no guarantee he stays healthy.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:25 AM) We haven't hit much but we're in almost every game so adding a bat like Gonzales wouldn't help ? That's absurd. We've also faced mediocre pitching for the most part this season.

Awful at bats. Totally letting an awful pitcher dictate our at bats.

Beckham's had some really bad ABs with RISP so far this year.

Huge error by Choo after some great defense tonight! Bunt him over, get him in.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:15 AM) The pitching is great and the offense isn't . So what else is new ? For starters, this is the best Twins offense they've had since they became good again this decade. They can run away with this thing if we don't start hitting better.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:11 AM) .211 .268 .237 .212 .143 .238 .212 .147 .217 Thats the averages on this lineup this season after tonights 5 innings. I'm sorry...there is absolutely NO excuse for this garbage product, every f***ing year in April, from this team, regardless of who is in the lineup. and we always slump the last month or two of the season offensively

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 12:08 AM) It's absurd you can be so pessimistic this early in the season . Most of the time you don't even sound like a Sox fan. I would have said the same thing before this season. This lineup just can't contend in the American League. For some dumb ass reason, Ozzie thought he was smarter than every other front office in the AL. The Sox rarely very have players just come out of nowhere and have big offensive seasons. There were so many "we'll have a good offense IF" coming into the season.

QUOTE (Capn12 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:06 AM) Talbot is going to get into the "8-12 pitch innings" mode now, god I hate this team sometimes. It's so boring, as it's happened like 5 teams now already this season. It's such a self-fulfilling prophecy with the Sox lately.

QUOTE (jphat007 @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:06 AM) Why is that absurd? I think Gonzalez is good, but he's not going to make up for a lineup of below average hitters. And considering the holes this team has and how awful the farm system is, good luck giving Gonzalez 8 years, 180 million dollars and having any talent around him.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 17, 2010 -> 01:05 AM) How absurd. Absurd how? If you think this team is one bat away from being a WS contender, then you have a lot more confidence in Pierre gaining his speed and AJP not showing the typical wear and tear of catchers.
