For some reason, I've liked Fox games this year.
-
Nice defense by the Reds so far in the first inning. The Reds are probably going to finish this year 20 games below. 500. Good thing for them they didn't try to make any upgrades. And wow, does Cueto absolutely suck in the first innings now.

Cowley mentions Floyd being traded in nearly every deal he talks about.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 04:37 PM) Cowley was on 670 The Score and said that Dotel told him he could be included in a 3 way deal that would land the Sox Cliff Lee. He also talked about a possible deal for Dan Haren that could involve Floyd. I'd give up Poreda and a couple of other prospects for Lee. I just don't think he's worth Gavin Floyd. Cowley has no credibility when it comes to rumors.

QUOTE (CSF @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 02:16 AM) 'kay, Gameday & MILB both suck ass. Neither is updating the B-Ham score after the 8th. Last out recorded was David Cook to end the 8th. Is it raining in B-ham or something? Maybe there's a delay cause David Cook got demoted again?

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 24, 2009 -> 11:23 PM) I happened to notice Padres pitching prospect Matt Latos has made it to the majors. Prior to the 2007 I loved the guy and was hoping he wouldn't accept the Padres offer as a Draft and Follow candidate from 2006. Even though he probably wouldn't have made it to our position in the draft, it's interesting to see a guy I had a man crush on succeed so rapidly. With seemingly little minor league experience. Funky arm slot but great life on his fastball

Jones is from the South Suburbs. Born at Ingalls Hospital, where yours truly was also born.
-
I firmly believe Bellamy will be the first player from the 2009 draft for the Sox to make the majors.
-
Oh, and let's not forget the play that lost it, Castro dropping the throw at the plate.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 02:56 AM) Today was an absolute disaster, especially from a management standpoint. We got out managed, and that's just the truth. We probably get out managed more than any other team in baseball. I disagree with that. Whenever I watch Astros games, I'm amazed at how awful Cecil Cooper is.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:51 AM) Luckily I wasn't one of the many on Soxtalk yesterday who said they would never insult Wise again because of one catch. You called it perfectly. Absolute joke he played both games
-
Cardinals lineup is very impressive now. They just need to find a replacement for Wellemeyer. I honestly believe the 4 playoff teams from the NL will be the Dodgers, Phillies, Cubs, and Cardinals

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 02:42 AM) And I'm glad we didn't both substituting Getz for Quentin in the 9th. No, we wouldn't want him to get on his feet. Want to get pissed off? Quentin was healthy enough to play in a double header last week, but not healthy enough to play in a double header today. At least Wise got his ABs.

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 02:39 AM) I don't know... if he could get Haren some how some way...... I know he needed to be traded, but the Javy Vazquez trade hasn't worked out for the 2009 White Sox. KW better pray that Flowers pans out, or that is going to go down as a terrible trade. Javy could get the Braves a fortune if they traded him now.

QUOTE (JohnStamos @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 02:40 AM) And you were probably complaining when Ozzie left Colon in the 7th. Some times it works out sometimes it doesn't. What do you expect Ozzie to do? Never pitch Linebrink ever again in a close game? In case you didn't realize Thorton walked in a run with the bases loaded. In the one situation where he need to throw a strike he didn't do it. There's no guarantee he gets out of the 8th scoreless. You lost this game because you couldn't execute with runners in scoring position. Not because Ozzie put Linebrink in to start the 8th. 3 losses for Linebrink vs the Tigers this year. Obviously, he's not a good match-up.
-
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:36 AM) I know we could be well out of this right b4 the trade deadline.... So let's just pray KW sell the farm for a sinking ship. In no way am I saying it's sinking, but danger zone could be upon us. BTW, Dan Hudson should be untouchable.
-
Awesome...terrible hitting, terrible relieving, terrible managing. Got to split the next two, or the season could be in jeopardy. With our remaining schedule, 4 down is going to be hard to make up when they have Verlander and Jackson starting 40% of their games.
-
QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:35 AM) Hell this keeps up we will be 4 back in no time.... You see our schedule next week? Scary!
-
QUOTE (JohnStamos @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:33 AM) Thorton hasn't exactly been lights out lately either. Noone in our bullpen has been. Even if Thorton gets you out of the 8th unscathed you would probably have to bring in Jenks or Liney in the 9th and then what? You complain Ozzie didn't save Thorton? You play to get through the 8th and score in the top of the 9th. Go back and look before the inning, I wanted Thornton in the game to start the 8th.
-
QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:34 AM) the umpiring crew for us as of late has sucked Yet no one on the coaching staff says a f***ing word
-
Wow, PK with a day to remember. Stoney called that one brilliantly.
-
QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:30 AM) i was prepared for the perfunctory grand slam from Inge, so that's good. That was a good job by Pena in a tough spot.
-
Let Rodney get wild. At least Getz/Beckham might bat this inning.
-
QUOTE (JohnStamos @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:28 AM) Seriously who the hell do you expect to pitch in that situation? Thorton hasn't been lights out lately and Dotel threw 2 innings earlier. I think you would have complained regardless of who Ozzie put in there. Yep, I have been such a huge supporter of Linebrink this season. Thornton's been fine lately. If they can get a run off of him, I'll tip my cap.
-
QUOTE (Wanne @ Jul 25, 2009 -> 01:27 AM) Sorry...but I still can't get over how far off the line Beckham was. Runner on 1st in a tie game with one out. Geez-us...that's 101 right there. Somebody F'd up if they told him to play there...or he's not smart enough to know that (and the excuse of he's only been there a few months doesn't fly with me there)...you still know that IMO. That's the coaching staff. What pisses me off more is it was an inside fastball to Ordonez, which should easily cause Beckham to guard the line.
