No. Burrell's homer was just an inside fastball that wasn't inside enough. Gross' HR was on a cutter that didn't cut enough.
I really liked his curve, and think he should use it a little more.

He's done well enough (so far) to deserve a win. Our offense has just been asleep all night.
Agreed...did he give up both homers on the same cutter?

We have nothing to lose with the way the bullpen has been going. Let him stretch it out as much as he can. Have them ready, but no reason to pull him yet.
Got to get him out now. Everything continues to be up in the zone. Good effort by him.

Phegley has got to be getting tired of these 0-fer games, yeesh.
I know it's early and all, but it was an overdraft and you wonder if he'll ever get better with wooden bats?
Might be time to get the pen up. Torres has been up in the zone with a lot the last 2 innings, and it would be nice to get him out with a good start under his belt.

he reminds me alot of brad radke with a couple mph on the FB
He's not even using his change-up a lot tonight. Mostly fastball and curve.
Crazy to think of some of the possibilities after this weekend. We could either be up a few games or potential down 8 games in the standings! I just really hope KW waits until after Sunday before making any big moves.

I never really thought James Shields was all that good. His ball must move more than I can see on TV since we aren't hitting much hard off him.
I thought we usually hit him very hard. There's just something missing from our offense right now.
Shields is just hitting his spots, and Tampa sure seems to have a good scouting report on our hitters. Definitely not the time for our offense to go into a funk.

Ryan and Schumacker have been pretty solid. With only Ludwick and Rasmus producing in the OF, I'd have to disagree. I know they have put their toe in the water about Holliday.
As of yesterday, Ryan was in a big slump
Damn, bad pitch selection...can't be throwing Burrell inside fastballs. Our offense really has to pick it up. Since Friday, it's really been a struggle to score.
