  1. Anderson with another swing on the 0-0 pitch that makes you shake your head. Stoney's making a great observation about Meche opening up too early.
  2. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:14 AM) 2-16. His OBP in the leadoff spot is right around .310 even counting his amazing day in Anaheim. His new style of hitting basically makes it impossible for him to draw a walk. Lets just hope he can keep swinging the magic wand though.
  3. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 30, 2009 -> 11:06 PM) Podsednik sure is living off that one game in Anaheim. What is he, like 2-15 since that game with no walks?
  4. Stults getting roughed up yet again. If Kuroda doesn't come back with good stuff, the Dodgers might need to find another starting pitcher. I highly doubt Eric Milton will be sufficient.
  5. I said during the entire Peavy situation that I'd take my chances of one of Poreda, Richard, and Hudson (if he was included) being better than Peavy by 2013 when Peavy would have been making 20+million. I'd much rather have KW have some payroll flexibility for once and see what else we can add.
  6. If the Sox didn't take Broadway, they were going to take one of the local boys: Carrillo or Bogusevich. Broadway's actually been better than both.
  7. I'll say it: Richard should be untouchable right now. A lefty starter who can throw 94 mph with potentially an above average change and slider (holy cow, that thing was filthy) should not be traded. Poreda needs to be the chip we use in a trade.
  8. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ May 30, 2009 -> 03:00 AM) pointless trade He'll get 125 ABs for the Sox
  9. Anderson looks like he might have tweaked his oblique again. Hopefully it's nothing, but he took some awkward swings/follow-through
  10. The first time I read Tim Wheeler's scouting profile, I thought he'd be a good pick for the Sox. The recent mock draft has him falling to #32.
  11. Richard seems to be dominating lefty hitters lately (besides Teahen).
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 30, 2009 -> 01:46 AM) This was the first chance I've had to catch Strasburg live. Dude is even better than advertised. Virginia has one of the top 5 offenses in the country and they had no chance after the second inning. Strasburg single-handedly gives the Nationals instant credibility. He could definitely pitch and more importantly be effective in the majors right now. Yeah, I was impressed by him, and then even more impressed when I learned that UVa's offense is as good as it is. He made their hitters look like high schoolers.
  13. Give them someone like McCullough for him.
  14. Yes, Corky is awful. He gives us nothing offensively in the games he plays in. Considering we seem to be trying to rest AJP against any LHP we face, it's important we boost our LHP offense.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSox420* @ May 30, 2009 -> 02:48 AM) You have to look at every mistake Wise makes as an overall positive to the team, the more mistakes the less playing time I actually like Wise as a back-up outfielder. We legitimately need him on the roster right now with CQ gone.
  16. It wouldn't be a Sox game without the Sox walking the #9 hitter.
  17. Trying to fight the urge to complain about Anderson's at bat with runners on.
  18. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 30, 2009 -> 02:43 AM) Victor Martinez perhaps? David Ortiz?
