  1. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 28, 2009 -> 04:12 AM) Shouldn't a catcher recognize a bad pitch when he sees one? It's not like it was 2 ft off the plate. Fuentes gets a lot of hitters to chase his bad pitches due to his funky arm angle. I'm more pissed that Anderson went after such a bad pitch on the 0-0. He seems to be struggling in important situations (and he always has).
  2. AJP swung at a 3-1 count with a runner on down 2. That's perfectly acceptable. He chased a bad pitch. It's not the first time and it won't be the last. We didn't do enough to win this game, so let's be happy we won the series and enjoy tomorrow.
  3. What in the hell was Anderson swinging at? He acted like he was down 0-2 in the count. Really, really disappointing last two games for Anderson. He's not going to do himself any favors with Ozzie.
  4. Anderson's going to pretend like he's facing the Mariners if he gets up to bat.
  5. This was definitely a game where our veteran players had decent ABs, and our young players really struggled against Weaver.
  6. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 28, 2009 -> 04:54 AM) I think he signed a two year deal. Dunn signed a one year deal and will be a great July trade for someone. Mackowiak turns Vlad's line out into a triple. Great game for Floyd. Dunn signed a 2 yr, 20 mil.
  7. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 28, 2009 -> 04:51 AM) The sad thing is, he is exactly what they need if he had any consistency at all. Honestly, what this team needs is Chone leading off and playing 3rd base (for this particular team). The big concern with Pods is he's not walking at all right now, so when his bat cools off, he's going to have to find a way to be more patient with his new approach. It's not a real big concern though, as anything he gives us is gravy.
  8. Is Abreu a FA after this season? I'd be shocked if he's not on the Sox.
  9. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 28, 2009 -> 04:47 AM) Has this team ever come back in a game this year? That was pathetic. I think the only game we've come back to win after trailing from the 7th inning on was game #1 vs KC.
  10. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 28, 2009 -> 04:46 AM) Only a matter of time until he's down to about .260 Will someone start a thread about that saying they were wrong for saying people were wrong about Pods being wrong for the Sox?
  11. Jeez Pods, take a pitch! Terrible game for him.
  12. Gavin's been excellent in 6 of 7 innings. I'll take this performance every time out. I've been very impressed with the Sox this series. We look significantly better than we did during April and into the Toronto debacle.
  13. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 28, 2009 -> 04:37 AM) 20-1 ain't close but I get your point. Just seeing if anyone was paying attention.
  14. Swing the bat Nix! I'm thinking Nix is probably better suited to only face lefties. The Beckham era can't start soon enough.
  15. Whatever happens tonight, I hope all of us enjoy tomorrow's off day. We've just won 3 straight series, and even the losses in those series were close.
  16. If it makes anyone feel better, Peavy had a similar blow-up today to what Gavin did. Damn Brian, you're going to open the door for DWise.
  17. Gavin playing a game of how many hangers can one throw in an inning. A great start is now on the verge of being another 5 run outing by Gavin.
  18. Can we just list every starter and keep it in one thread? Who's going to start the Cliff Lee thread?
  19. Gavin really s*** the bed this inning. Hung two different curves with 2 strikes. Floyd is absolutely miserable out of the stretch.
  20. I'll gladly take a tie game after this inning. The #9 hitter really seems to be a rally starter vs the Sox this year.
  21. Damn, leadoff single. Extremely tough inning now for Gavin.
