Nice job by Alexei on the sac fly. Adam Jones is so graceful out there in CF.

QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 12:52 AM) boy i'll be glad when we see dwise out of the lineup It just makes no sense for Quentin to not be up with the big league team. If he still has soreness, then don't play him in the minor league rehab games either!

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 01:49 AM) Danks looks like s***. Nothing he is throwing looks sharp. Lots of just misses so far by Baltimore. Danks doesn't have that power change-up which makes him so effective yet.

I just really hope that KW waits until after next weekend before making any big trades. I'd hate to see a blockbuster trade if we slump out of the break and we're 6 or 7 games out.

Danks just totally lost his focus in that AB, and Markakis hit a very cheap homer. Roberts dominates us more than any other leadoff hitter. Beckham or the coaching staff fell asleep with Roberts up to bat.

No WTP there. Konerko looked awesome that AB, as he was swinging as free and easy as I've seen in a long time.

Warning track power has carried over from before the break, I see.

QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 18, 2009 -> 12:19 AM) I agree on that wholeheartedly. Webb would likely be a target in the offseason. Also, I'd have to think another name or two could be available in the offseason that's not on the radar now. Pitchers are overpriced in terms of talent it would take to acquire them right now. It's very possible Webb is a FA this offseason. There's also reports his injury is much more serious than the organization is stating it is.

My favorite moment of the game was McCarver saying Youkilis might be the most valuable player in baseball due to his production as related to his relatively low salary (6 million). Meanwhile, the next guy up makes a little over league minimum and has better numbers this year while playing numerous positions (Zobrist).

QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 15, 2009 -> 03:13 AM) I'm thinking Halladay will end up in Philly....I am just hoping Detroit doesn't go out of their way to try and get him. They don't have the prospects to get him. I really think Philadelphia is where he'll end up.

QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 15, 2009 -> 04:05 AM) i think a deal of Richard, Poreda, Fields, and another prospect would get Halladay. That's 3 young guys who are already at MLB level and an upcoming propsect. That's rumored to be more than what they are looking for. You don't think Toronto could get more than that? I can't wait for Halladay to get traded.

Not sure it's been reported on here, but Buehrle is going to be the 2nd pitcher for the AL. Also, Hanley Ramirez has some gigantic arms.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 09:26 PM) I don't believe this to be true, but I will say, and it goes along great with this thread, that Hedi and Spencer are really genesis, and it goes over the head of too many people in Hollywood. What they have done with their 15 minutes has been incredible. Yes, he's a great "bad guy". He knows how to push everyone's button. The reason "The Hills" is a great program to watch is that it's a great conversation with the right out of college girls at work.

QUOTE (DC23MVP @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 10:27 PM) I think that a Floyd, Beckham, and Alexei for Halladay deal is pretty good for us, but I don't think we need to do it. We'd have a whole at 3B and at SS that would be hard to fill, and I think it wouldn't be worth it. Yeah....no!

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 14, 2009 -> 10:16 PM) Title IX is a joke and needs to go. Awesome! Couldn't agree more, when I worked in the Athletic Department for a big-time Division I school, it's ridiuclous the impact it has on everyone.

Top Sox Moments So Far
Every year, I try to make a thread like this at the All-Star Break and at the end of the season. This season has been pretty bland, all things considered. Here's my top 5: 5: Thome's 3 run homer on opening day against Kansas City 4: The Sunday game in Milwaukee featuring Buehrle's homer, AJP's clutch single, and the first "Hell Yes" 3: Jenks getting Span to hit into a double play to end Saturday's game in Minnesota 2: Dye and Konerko going back-to-back to both hit their 300th home run 1: Gordon Beckham's walk-off single against the Cubs
