  1. Just awful by Pods. The league has figured out his style already.
  2. Another real good AB by Fields. Time to do something Pods.
  3. Damn, Getz is just horrible on that down and in pitch. The league knows it's his weak spot. Another fine example of our poor development of players.
  4. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:12 AM) Bad swing by Brian. How did he look during his first AB? Terrible...defensive swing on the first pitch in the AB on a fastball off the plate.
  5. Just an awful AB for Anderson. He's going to have a fun time sitting tomorrow.
  6. Nice play Josh. Let's see if the 3 young guys can produce a run.
  7. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:07 AM) Honestly, I rather not go with either unless we're talking about $5 million per. The thing is, CQ might end up having to be the DH if his plantar fascitis continues.
  8. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:04 AM) I don't know. His OBP for the last three years certainly isn't good for a DH. Even at his age and being labeled as "finished" or "done," Thome puts up better numbers. Who do you trust more though in the next 2 seasons?
  9. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 30, 2009 -> 11:59 PM) I LOVE Jermaine Dye with a bat in his hands, he's a treat to watch. I really hope we offer him a 2 yr contract extension with plans of making him our DH
  10. Positioning has killed the Sox so far today. This has been extremely disappointing so far, as this Kansas City lineup is AWFUL
  11. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:51 AM) We could have had him for a bag of balls prior to Manny's injury. Now, he is indispensable for them until Manny returns. Give him 20 more games...he'll be batting around .300 in no time.
  12. QUOTE (Paint it Black @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:49 AM) ...and nor far behind is trading for Juan Pierre. It will be interesting to see who KW goes after, Pierre or Chone.
  13. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:49 AM) Another terrific at bat by Podsednik. Just because he stopped striking out doesn't mean he's giving you good at bats, it just means he's being more aggressive early in counts. This last PA was a perfect example of just that. Needless to say if Pods played the whole year for the Sox, we'd have the winner of most outs made in baseball in consecutive seasons.
  14. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:44 AM) If Josh can still play left field, you gotta bring up Beckham for third. Pods is just horrible. Are you kidding..I'm worried we'll give Pods a contract extension.
  15. Give me Wise over Pods in LF any day. At least he gives you a little power. That was really disheartening right there. Shades of how we were playing 2 weeks ago.
  16. First pitch pop up by Pods. The magic for Pods is completely gone.
  17. Fields just missed a homer foul, and softly lines out to 2nd base. Not a bad AB at all by him. Get him in Pods.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:40 AM) It's really hard to tell a jump from TV unless you're actually at the game. I actually haven't seen Anderson play in person until earlier this year, I had to take everyone's word for it until then. I think it's fair to say he has almost as much range as Adam Jones (someone I get to see a lot). Adam Jones is excellent already, and looks to be a top 10 player for the future. He reminds me a lot of Eric Davis.
  19. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:35 AM) Yeah I figured it had to have been hit away from Anderson if it was a triple to center with him playing there. It's rare that he actually misplays a ball. I personally couldn't tell if it was a bad jump. He was playing way too shallow though, and Buehrle pitched away from the defense by leaving a change-up over the inner half.
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 31, 2009 -> 12:24 AM) What happened on the triple? Bloomquist hit what should have been a pretty routine fly to center, but Anderson was shaded way over to right and extremely shallow. Anderson made a big dive for it, but missed it. Stoney was critical of Anderson's jump.
