  1. Jeez Linebrink...first two reach. Jenks going to start warming up.
  2. QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 03:25 AM) Was watching the Durham / Charlotte game on TV tonight and Egbert took a nasty line drive to his throwing hand, and left the game. It didnt look good but who knows how bad it is. He had pitched 3 or 4 scoreless innings up to that point. On another note, Kroeger might be the most un-graceful player I have ever watched. The guy badly misplayed a ball in RF last night, made an error on a slow roller, and tripped over his feet going from 1st to 3rd. Now maybe these were random events that are unlike Josh, but I was very surprised how badly he looked in the field. Kroeger sucks in the field, that's been known for a while. Thanks for the observations though!
  3. So would that have been an easy double play if Nix had caught the throw? I was watching Manny's first AB.
  4. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:04 AM) Or maybe a second baseman if he's a stud. Or even a stud 3rd baseman if you decide to move Beckham to 2nd.
  5. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:03 AM) We should be careful what we wish for. I'd much rather go up against the Tigers down the stretch. Yep, but at this point, I'd rather just have it get bunched up
  6. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:54 AM) However, if KW did get a RH hitting outfielder with pop, that player would be guaranteed 30-40% playing time as the RH DH/PH for Thome regardless of what happens with Quentin and/or Pods health-wise. The worst thing KW could do is upset the chemistry that seems to be building. We already have a guy who can DH vs LHP if we need it, and that guy is Josh Fields. We're really beefing up our attack against LHP, with Alexei hitting .400 vs lefties, and Nix/Castro providing some spark.
  7. Nice to have some speed guys who can score from 2nd on a single to the outfield.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:48 AM) If they are signed for a decent amount of time, it wouldn't bother me at all. Agreed, sell high on both of those lefties. Haren't obviously the big gun, and KW has my blessing to unload any prospect we have not named Gordon.
  9. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:45 AM) With Allen gone, then we pretty much have to keep Thome somehow next season...don't we? It's not too hard, especially in this market, to find designated hitters for cheap.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:44 AM) Really, if KW makes any deal right now with how this team is playing its because he's decided to clear some space, maybe even for Allen. There really is no where for anyone to play that gives us a big upgrade. Honestly, unless we offer up Poreda/Richard in a package again as we acquire a big time starter, nothing makes sense.
  11. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:42 AM) Hopefully the biggest out of the night there after a small rally. You know very well how KC makes comebacks against the Sox.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:40 AM) Would like to see the White Sox make a run at Fukudome again and see how much the Cubs would be willing to eat on that deal...we wouldn't have to give up much. Prefer Fukudome to Rowand in terms of those contracts and future ROI, but both would be high-risk moves...even if we have the financial flexibility. Don't dismiss the idea of KW going after Pierre with Manny back in LA. Ozzie has the love for Pierre from his Marlins days. Where would any of those guys play?
  13. Biggest batter in the game here for Danks.
  14. My prediction would be a Josh Fields for Cla Meredith deal. Padres were interested in Fields in the past, and rumor is Padres will be trading Kouzmanoff soon.
  15. Unless it's a superstar 2nd baseman, I am puzzled as to what KW would be looking to upgrade on this current team. No reason to get a CF with Quentin's likely return.
  16. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:36 AM) Maybe we can acquire Kung Fu Panda He is going to be a monster in the NL.
  17. Carroll updated it to say it's not necessarily a deal between Sox and Giants.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:34 AM) Are you trying to hint at the Dye for pitching deal? Well, if the Giants and Sox are trading, it's not for the Giants to get more pitching. I just pray that KW doesn't have soft spot for Jonathan Sanchez.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:32 AM) Rowand's coming back?!?! Giants aren't going to be trading offensive players.
  20. Yay for 3 outs on the bases!
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:31 AM) That's news? Kenny is always trying to make a deal. It's be a big deal if he wasn't. The implication from the tweet was that something is brewing. Possibly with the Giants.
  22. BTW, KW is supposedly trying to make a deal very soon (according to Will Carroll)
  23. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:26 AM) So the Rays have the best run differential in the leagues. Didn't figure that. Holy cow, would have never guessed that. I guess Dodgers have so many one run victories. Tampa's pitching still seems real iffy.
