  1. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 16, 2009 -> 08:32 PM) Thanks Scott Linebrink Thanks everyone. This should have been a shut out for Toronto. Nix probably had the best at bat of the game.
  2. The Jays really are the 2005 White Sox. That might have been the worst game of the year for the Sox at the plate.
  3. So Quentin's that injured he can't even PH?
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:05 PM) The Brewers, Cardinals, Reds, and Mets all have similar records to the Cubs, and until you tell me how the injuries are going to work out or which teams are going to be buyers at the deadline (the Cubs have nothing to offer except money), it certainly seems like they're no where near as far ahead of the rest of the league as they were last year. Wouldn't you agree though that the Cubs offense to start the year was about as bad as it was going to be? Lee and Bradley aren't going to hit under .200 all year, and it's likely Soto will pick it up. The Cubs aren't as good as they were last year, but none of the teams in the division are.
  5. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:24 PM) You're never as good as you look when you're on a roll (Toronto), you're never as bad as you look when you're in a slump (White Sox). Outside of 2 games against the Twins and that series in Tampa, we've looked really mediocre all year. I just hope Quentin's ok, as he's really the only reason to watch our offense now.
  6. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:22 PM) Just waiting on the Kenny Williams meltdown. KW won't have a meltdown...he should just thank his stars that he's not the one being called out for having this mediocre roster after the offseason. Everyone knew it was a terrible offseason for the Sox with regards to helping out the big league squad, and we're paying for it now.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:22 PM) Jesus people, we'd rather lose every year and stockpile draft picks than win the damn division? Yeah, that was just a head shaker.
  8. QUOTE (SnB @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:19 PM) good lord, just bring back luis terrero and call it a season. He'd get hurt right away and Lillicurse would take his place.
  9. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:18 PM) Lawl, we are the worst team in all of the major leagues. No doubt in my mind. We really might be. The Nationals offense is far superior to ours. It could be a battle between the Sox and Padres for first pick.
  10. At least the pitching match-up favors the Sox tomorrow.
  11. QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:16 PM) Well, if we're gonna be bad, we might as well be bad enough to know we can be sellers. Completely agree....the worse thing in the world would be for this team to go 77-85 and end up 10 games out of 1st. If they're going to suck and go through the motions, let the record reflect it. We absolutely didn't deserve to win this game today.
  12. So tell me more about this Bryce Harper? This team might end up with a worse record than 2007. Please fire Greg Walker just so we know someone in the organization cares!
  13. And we're tied....this team is just awful. Good thing we just let Wells walk into 2nd on the steal.
  14. Lind is all over him right here. A walk wouldn't be bad.
  15. Even Hawk and Stoney wanted a pitch out there.
  16. Linebrink has to be careful...can't throw BP to these hitters.
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:06 PM) If we screw up any of the hitters on the Barons and sabotage them Isn't that Greg Walker's job?
  18. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:05 PM) I'd have no problem with that. Give the Barons a chance? How much worse could it really be? Normally I disagree, but I find it hard to believe the Barons couldn't put up more than 3 hits against Ray.
  19. Where does this rank among the worst offensive outings of the year? Considering our run was on a throwing error, this has been worse than the game against Eaton (who has an ERA near 8 now).
  20. Hawk's pretty desperate right now. Saying Alexei hit a ball hard into right center when it was a 300 foot routine fly out. I love Hawk that he's going through the same frustrations we are.
  21. Um, might want to challenge Millar at 3rd. I can't believe Ray's still in this game.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 16, 2009 -> 07:53 PM) I'd say there's plenty of question of that. Who else? Cardinals have come crashing down to earth, Brewers just don't have the positioning, and the NL East beats up on each other. I was shocked to see the Marlins around .500 after their amazing start.
  23. Wow, looks like he got him with a slider on 3-2. Well done AJP
  24. Still puzzled by our defensive positioning with Chavez up. With Thornton's fastball and Chavez's slow swing, why do you shade him so far up the middle like Getz was?
