QUOTE (Brian @ May 13, 2009 -> 02:44 AM)
Julio Ramirez territory for Lillibridge.
Julio Ramirez was a hell of a lot more talented than Lillibridge. The funny thing is he has such low hopes by all of us, and he underachieves even those. It's ironic that Crede is heating up just as Fields is struggling to keep his job.

Are we through yet? at least for today? Carasco comes in and can;'t get the first batter out and now has to int. walk the hitter and load the bases
Probably should have started the inning.
QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2009 -> 01:33 AM)
Is Sizemore still up?
I see he got a hit. Pretty disappointing start for Richard. 10 recorded outs, 9 base runners. Next?
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 13, 2009 -> 01:22 AM)
I'll let this start slide with Richard getting his feet wet, but I still think the problem the Sox have replacing an ineffective Contreras, is they have nobody who can outperform his badness. Hopefully, Contreras can get his act together quickly in Charlotte.
I'm thrilled with Cooper's comments though. I was sick of hearing his stuff is there but his confidence isn't. His fork ball is his main "stuff" pitch, and he had nothing on it so far this year.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 13, 2009 -> 01:20 AM)
If Ozzie truely believes Lillibridge gives him a better chance to win than Ramirez right now, its time to really worry about Ramirez.
He doesn't, and that's why Ozzie's stubborness is infuriating. Hell, when he's disagreeing with Joey Cora about Alexei's ability to play in CF, that pisses me off even more.
Way to hit the ball in the air again to right Lillibridge. Nothing like getting the leadoff man on board and having two of the worst players in baseball hitting after them.
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ May 13, 2009 -> 01:13 AM)
Just give Poreda a f***ing chance, already. How many more games are we going to go with Carrasco, Richard, etc. until we try? Even if he fails miserably, atleast we know. We already know what we have in the guys currently on the roster.
Just remember...if we see Poreda or Beckham this year, we're in trouble.
Richard's brought this upon himself by walking so many hitters.
QUOTE (Heads22 @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:02 AM)
Josh is not fun to watch this year.
Yep, he turned into a power threat at the plate to a slap hitter. If Fields can't hit a soft tossing lefty, he's never going to hit. That's the type of pitcher he killed in 2007.
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 12, 2009 -> 11:58 PM)
At this point, it's difficult to imagine how Lillibridge won't go down this weekend.
Are you challenging the Lillicurse? Jermaine, Pods, Getz, Fields, Nix, and Alexei should be extra careful.
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:57 AM)
If anything, his hot streak could finally rid us of having to watch Brent Lillibridge when BA is ready to return.
Unless CQ goes on the DL, and I'm sure Pods would get hurt then.
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 13, 2009 -> 12:55 AM)
Why is Getz swinging at the 1st pitch?
He's in-between right now. It's ok, consider it a learning opportunity. He'll probably get tomorrow off, and that's fine. I think a lot of us forget that he's a rookie, and we expect a MLB caliber leadoff hitter.
