  1. Lillibridge is batting 2nd again. Simply put, that's the dumbest managerial decision I've ever seen. You don't put an automatic out in front of your best hitter. By no fault of his own, Lillibridge is my most unlikeable Sox player since Jaime Navarro.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 11, 2009 -> 05:19 PM) I also read both teams were issued warnings before the game yesterday. It makes the White Sox offensive showing even more disgusting. Padilla was awful in the first few innings of that game, but we couldn't capitalize. He had no offspeed pitch, and his fastball was in the 90 mph range. There were only 3 hard hit balls by the Sox all game, and 2 of them were Quentin.
  3. QUOTE (SoxPride56 @ May 11, 2009 -> 04:24 PM) Then there is this... http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4157644 Ugh, he's going to get a suspension for this. If Ozzie would have just taken care of this in Texas, none of this would have ever happened. A player finally sticks up for his teammates, and Ozzie disagrees with the timing. BTW, Jenks should get warned every time he's on the mound, as he was really firing his fastball after the incident.
  4. We're the only team I know that needs to send a message that they were trying to send a message. I applaud Jenks for doing what he did (especially that it was low enough not to even threaten Kinsler's head), but there's no reason for him to publically admit he did this.
  5. Pass on any Pirates not named Maholm, and his asking price is way too much. Gorzelanny's on his way to being out of baseball in a few years, and Snell would have no prayer in the AL.
  6. BTW, Pods is out Monday and Tuesday. Please, please put someone in CF besides Lillibridge. If we lose with the best 9 players in the lineup that's possible, then that's a lot more understanding than a stubborn manager.
  7. What are all these injuries? We're only dealing with injuries at one position with our center fielders. We're as healthy as any team in baseball.
  8. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 10, 2009 -> 09:59 PM) Micah Owing just worked a beautiful at-bat (9 pitches) in the 9th inning with two outs, and then BLASTS a home-run. That's amazing...he really should become an outfielder.
  9. QUOTE (tommy @ May 10, 2009 -> 09:49 PM) Ozzie choking down the tears during the press conference. Explain?
  10. QUOTE (shipps @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:36 PM) that baby will surely NEVER get over this loss plus KW is now ripping off babies Yeah, at least it didn't rain like the first 3 games he tried to go to.
  11. Griffey just hit a 2 run homer to tie it at Minnesota, and he hit it in the hole for the Subway sign for someone to win $25k.
  12. What an awful game for my brother to take his new baby to for her first Sox game. As DAllen always says, KW is ripping off our fans this year.
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 10, 2009 -> 09:32 PM) Do you guys remember what he looked like in CF last year? I really can't. He's also having a hard enough time at the plate, I doubt it would help him. All I remember him is having a great throw to get a runner out at 2nd base.
  14. 2 of the 3 worst offensive performances at home I can remember in the same series. If we want to have money to afford more players, why not just not employ a hitting coach? I don't think things could get much worse if Walker was gone.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) Nix has a .261 career BA, 331 OBP and around 740 OPS in the minors over 8 years. He might be great defensively up the middle, but he's not an option for the outfield. He has to play 2B/SS. Ramirez might as well go down with Contreras...and he can take Lillibridge with him. Unfortunately, bringing up Josh Kroeger and Eider Torres isn't going to guarantee an AL Central title. Nix is giving you good at bats right now. That's what this team needs. No one said he's the option for the next 3 to 5 years. Right now, this offensive personnel is not working. Maybe Carl Everett can return and play CF?
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:22 PM) Drill him!!!! /poor sport I totally agree with you. I've never liked Ozzie, but at least when he was crazy, it would make you think he was bringing some passion to the clubhouse. Maybe Jerry Reinsdorf will have to put out a comment to the media to our players next.
  17. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:17 PM) Oh yeah, I forgot how he has been tearing it up so far. At least Alexei in CF allows you to open up a spot for Nix at SS or calling up Beckham. The big issue is that when Anderson returns, Pods will still start against RHP most likely.
  18. EASE HIS PAIN....send him down. A surprising 0-4 for Lillibridge.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:11 PM) exactly. Which is why even if this team did decide to wave the white flag and start making trades, i have little confidence in their ability to make good ones. It does help having Buddy Bell around, though. At least now we have a chance in philosophy and have removed some people that might have had mischevious agendas.
  20. Will Dotel throw at a Rangers hitter in the 9th? It would be fitting if we don't.
  21. And to think we put the fate of Tuesday's game vs KC in Broadway's less than capable hands.
  22. It feels like we've been blown out at home more this season than all of last year. Good thing we've won most of our close games, because we're not very competitive in far too many games. That's a sign of a TERRIBLE team.
  23. 1 hit through 7 innings. Padilla's allowed 2 hits in his last 15 innings.
