  1. QUOTE (Brian @ May 12, 2009 -> 12:43 AM) Floyd was a fluke. Sorry, its true. Too early to tell about that, but it's funny how the three players every expert said would regress are making them look pretty smart (Gavin, Alexei, CQ).
  2. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 11, 2009 -> 11:41 PM) Aj did a piss poor frame job on that one. I noticed that too...thanks for not making me feel crazy. Worst fundamental team I've ever seen. BTW, another walk to the #9 hitter.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 11, 2009 -> 11:38 PM) An 80 year old relative in my house asked why Dye wasn't at 3B on that hit...said Choo wasn't even going to throw the ball, just wanted to keep the hitter at 1st. We really can't afford to give up any runs, even against Cy Pavano. The Sox aren't playing hard this year. It's disgusting, and we seem to get outhustled every game.
  4. QUOTE (JustWin @ May 11, 2009 -> 11:38 PM) Please keep it close, Gavin. I still feel like the offense will get to Pavano. I'd be willing to bet that Gavin's fastball this year has been hit harder than anyone else's fastball in the majors. This f***ing sucks, cause if we lose it's one thing, but if Gavin can't be relied upon to be a starter, it really hurts the future of this organization.
  5. AJP flies out to the fence...how in the hell wasn't that gone?
  6. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 11, 2009 -> 11:33 PM) Mmmmm, station to station baseball. Seriously, how in the hell did Dye not get to 3rd on Thome's single? He wasn't even running hard into 2nd.
  7. That's just a horrible AB by Konerko. Chases a pitch a foot off the plate into an easy DP. This team is getting more painful to watch by the day.
  8. Two nice singles for the Sox. Our two best hitters this year coming up.
  9. No offense to JPN, but we simply don't outbid other teams for free agents (besides our own PK). With the economy this year, there's not a chance in hell of the Sox getting in a bidding war and winning it against Boston, Yanks, etc.
  10. Gavin needs to keep us in the game and record the 5th out of the inning.
  11. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ May 12, 2009 -> 12:16 AM) I am still trying to figure out why Ozzie won't move Alexei out to CF and have Nix play SS.... I am trying to figure out why he's the manager, as he's basically done nothing this year.
  12. Holy cow, this team f***ing sucks. Dye misplays a liner right at him.
  13. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ May 11, 2009 -> 11:14 PM) That's ridiculous by Ramirez. That needs to be turned. His footwork at SS is comical
  14. Trailing 1-0 already....can we at least play an entertaining game and not be out of it by the 5th?
  15. Hell of a play by Getz to get one...Alexei unfortunately couldn't turn the DP for some odd reason.
  16. Ugh, Gavin looking like 2009 Gavin so far. No command of his fastball, and then gets forced to throw it over the plate and gets hit hard. We look flatter than the Olsen Twins yet again.
  17. QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ May 12, 2009 -> 12:06 AM) Shouldn't Ramirez be hitting second? (1) More fastballs hitting in front of Quentin; and (2) If Getz is on, it might get him focused on going to right field, instead of trying to pull every pitch. That would make a whole lot more sense than Lillibridge. Of course, we've had a terrible fastball hitter batting 2nd most of the season.
  18. Strong 2 pitch AB for Lillibridge. One thing to watch as the year goes on is if Getz can stop flying out weakly to LF. He makes far too many outs on that same swing, and Hawk is getting very upset with it.
  19. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 11, 2009 -> 11:39 PM) Is anyone a bit worried about how bad fields looks most of the time? I'm hoping its just a slump, but he hasn't exactly lit the world on fire since his hot start. Extremely worried, especially since a lot of his hits have been flares to right field. Just look at his swing. Not only does he still have the hole in it on anything towards the inner part (fastballs), but he has a ridiculous follow-through. Batting him 2nd was beyond idiotic if it's lead to him changing his style.
  20. With the way Bay is playing, there's going to be about 5 teams that can even afford him. Pass
  21. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ May 11, 2009 -> 10:32 PM) Thanks well than I guess there are no other options for CF as it would be down right cruel to move Ramirez to center. Why cruel? Alexei's lucky he has a patient manager. Alexei should be very, very worried that he's struggling and the best Sox prospect in a decade is a SS.
  22. Not only that, but what kind of message is it sending to the team where Nix comes in, gives the team good at-bats and great fielding, and then gets benched for 3 straight games?
