  1. Well, Broadway's warming!!!! And hey Ozzie, the 8th or 9th inning would be a perfect time for Broadway to hit a batter. We've been hit 6 times in the season series vs Texas, and they've been hit once.
  2. QUOTE (tommy @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:57 PM) Remember how Hawk was saying that Ozzie hasn't been this excited ever in the spring training, how this team has a lot of potential. Hawk also said Jose was throwing an unbelievable cutter. All that talk was to divert the general Sox fan's attention instead of asking: what exactly happened to our payroll?
  3. If the score holds, we've scored 1 run or less in 6 of Lillibridge's last 7 starts. He's our good luck charm, and it's not like the guy who would have been starting (Pods) is an actual MLB player either. Wily Taveras would have looked so good.
  4. This team can hit the hell out of the ball, especially with Hamilton/Young back next week. Pretty pathetic we went 2-4 against them this year with no Hamilton.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:50 PM) I'm just happy that my 2005 WS glee is still holding strong and I don't allow myself to get the same White Sox angst that I used to. Same could be said for KW and Ozzie.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ May 10, 2009 -> 07:49 PM) Unless...someone else is coming up. Egbert...Link... It could be Whisler, as Ozzie said he wanted a LHP. It won't be Egbert.
  7. This game's reminding me of the first game we had against Galarraga this year. You need to be able to stack your lineup with more than 3 lefty hitters when you're facing a guy with such drastic splits. The sooner DWise gets healthy, the better.
  8. Why are Stoney/Hawk making Padilla out to be a great pitcher? He's been really bad the past few years.
  9. Looks like it will be Broadway starting. I can't believe KW and Ozzie had a meeting and go "you know what, Broadway gives us the best chance to win a game as a starter". It's not like Richard and Carrasco are helping the Sox win games right now, as they only pitch in defeats.
  10. Carrasco is officially in. AWESOME, thanks KW/Ozzie
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxrd5 @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:36 PM) We like to have an average of 3 hitters in the lineup every game that don't have a realistic chance at the plate. Where's Andy Gonzalez and Luis Terrero going to bat?
  12. 1 hit through 5 innings...surprised? You can't put out awful lineups (on paper) and expect to win many games.
  13. QUOTE (fathom @ May 10, 2009 -> 07:34 PM) Alexei continues to look clueless. I really would like to know what Jayson Nix did (or didn't do) to stop getting at bats. Another great string of ABs by our PATHETIC 8/9 hitters. What does Ozzie and KW expect this current lineup to actually accomplish?
  14. Alexei continues to look clueless. I really would like to know what Jayson Nix did (or didn't do) to stop getting at bats.
  15. QUOTE (shipps @ May 10, 2009 -> 07:32 PM) Last year I felt horrible about this team at times like I do now....but boy that Blackout game was fun. I am not any less confident in this team as a whole over the longhaul than I was at the start of the season. I think it's more frustrating this year cause of expectations from last year. Going into 2008, there were no expectations.
  16. Cliff Lee vs Lance Broadway on Wednesday...any chance it rains?
  17. The worst part about this is Hawk will blame that close pitch on Andrus as the reason we lost (if we do). It hasn't been a strike all game.
  18. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:27 PM) i expect a response from this offense After Betemit, we have them where we want them. Alexei, Corky, Getz, and Lillibridge. BTW, I hope Ozzie didn't check the stats on Millwood and Padilla to decide who to play at catcher. Righties are significantly better vs Millwood, while lefties crush Padilla.
  19. And Carrasco is warming up. Holy f***ing s***, we're going to see Broadway on Wednesday. This season has been very frustrating.
  20. 5-1 on a high chopper. Nothing's going our way, which makes it seem like we suck even more.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 10, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) Richard in. I'm telling you, the options after Contreras are a lot worse. They should just let him try it again. Richard, right now, is a significantly better option than Contreras. I know you're a Contreras fan, but he needs to go to the minors and get some confidence in his forkball.
  22. It's the White Sox this year....everything they do they revert back on 2 days later. I wouldn't be shocked if Contreras is starting on Wednesday.
  23. Sweet, so we just went down another run and likely losing any chance to compete on Wednesday if Broadway has to start.
  24. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ May 10, 2009 -> 07:17 PM) Coop said on the pregame this was the plan. He also said that Richard has not been decided on yet Ugh, so they'll use Broadway instead? No reason to pitch Richard in relief here and then have to use Broadway, as that's hurting us in a future game when we're likely losing today.
