  1. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 04:44 PM) Certain players will just never go away. Yet Willie Harris makes so much more sense!!
  2. If Quentin was out, I'd understand it. The problem is that Pods is just terrible in CF, so not only are we getting a mediocre offensive player, but also a mediocre defensive player that has lost 2 steps since 2005.
  3. Christmas come early for the fat female teenagers of Chicago.
  4. This is like a bad dream. PLEASE PLAY WELL BRIAN ANDERSON!
  5. People favor Crede over Dye because he came up in the organization...we had heard about him for over a decade. I think the White Sox fan base is fantastic with race relations.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 02:19 PM) Were you responding to my post, or someone else's? I said it shouldn't make AS MUCH a difference as it does - not that there would be no difference at all. Unless the fences are 100 feet closer, the difference shouldn't be as dramatic as it is, consistently, for their power hitters. It was just a thought out loud, not in reference to anyone specifically.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 02:14 PM) It shouldn't make as much of a difference as it does though, I don't think. I am not 100% convinced its going on, but I am leaning that direction. Maybe their park makes them into a lot better hitters than they actually are? Thus, when they're on the road, they have a lineup full of mediocre to average players?
  8. They score a ton of runs at home because it's the best park to hit at in all of baseball. The infield is like concrete, and the warm weather allows the ball to carry to all fields. They've had a lot of turnover with their team over the last few years, so I'm sure someone would have snitched by now. Don't you think DeRosa would have said something when the Cubs played there a few years ago?
  9. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 14, 2009 -> 03:26 AM) That's funny, given that he had multiple good years, is considered to be a great guy, and has shown very little that suggest he was ever on drugs. Ok, how about just don't trust anyone that comes from the Oakland organization when it comes to PEDs.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:37 PM) I think Twins fans have seen a bit of how much Crede has eroded in the past few years. I've seen him strike out three times in clutch situations late in the game already this year.
  11. Any chance this is played? Looks like showers all day in Detroit.
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 11:34 PM) Charlotte has had a horrid start. They have 1 guy with a batting average over .250, and 1 guy with an ERA under 4.50, and he's pitched 2 innings. Kroger is 0 for 9 and Owens is 1 for 7 with 3 k's. One scout said it's one of the worst IL teams this decade
  13. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 09:57 PM) and tell ya something why not get edmonds Absolutely!
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 10:26 PM) I ask this because i'm curious: what affect would Ted Lilly throwing a no hitter have on anything? Carlos Zambrano threw one last September and it really meant nothing other than being a nice achievement for him personally. Nothing...doesn't mean I won't root against it happening. I love no-hitters, and will always turn a game on if a pitcher has one going into the 8th. However, not when it's the Cubs.
  15. TED LILLY HAS A NO-HITTER AFTER 5 INNINGS!!!!!!!!!!
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 08:39 PM) He said Ozzie said the only way it won't be Owens is if KW makes a trade before tomorrow. Get the Nationals on the phone immediately!
  17. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 08:35 PM) Cowley is reporting (2 minutes ago) that Owens is getting the call. Gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kind of a mood killer coming on heels of 3 game win streak. Hopefully Anderson gets majority of the playing time.
  18. What happened in bottom of the 7th?
  19. Don't throw Inge any fastballs!
  20. What happened on the Wise play?
  21. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 07:52 PM) This is hilarious For those not able to watch live, please try to add a description. Thanks!
  22. QUOTE (CryptviLL @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 07:48 PM) figures, leadoff walk.... Ozzie's going to give him a lot of rope to try and qualify for a win. How about a rare double play?
  23. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 06:40 PM) I don't know if it is the Lasik, or two years under his belt, but his pitch recognition is way better now. He doesn't swing and miss nearly as much as he used to. He never did chase a lot of poor pitches. It was more he just would swing and miss at any and all decent fastballs thrown towards the plate. Last year was a wash, as he had no power in his knee.
  24. Just an awful game for Floyd. He can't be walking guys when given a big lead.
  25. Great job PK! One more hit to break this game open.
