  1. QUOTE (Maxwell @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 12:37 AM) Milton Bradley has been amazing. It seems like out of all the options we could have possibly had to play CF, the one we got has been the least productive.
  2. This is just a nightmare ending to the first half. It would be capped off by getting swept and having the Twins sweep.
  3. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 12:35 AM) He can over throw the ball, who says he is gonna make a good throw. The way the offense is going, you need to take the chance and force the issue. One run in the 2nd inning isn't going to make a difference in this game. I'd rather not take the 10 pct chance of scoring.
  4. Ramirez swings at a 2-1 pitch at his eyes, and then makes the 3rd out. His eye at the plate is getting worse as the season goes on.
  5. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 12:33 AM) Really? Hamilton has a gun, and was playing very shallow.
  6. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Jul 13, 2008 -> 12:32 AM) Konerko blows, big hit and we have cement wheels on the base paths. No one in baseball scores on that.
  7. Good grief, the offense is looking like it did yesterday. This team really needs new life at the top of the order. Move OC to 2nd, and put AJP in between Swisher and Crede.
  8. Joe Nathan deserves Cy Young consideration.
  9. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 10:01 PM) They are the best team in the NL, but there's no way they are the best team in baseball. As for Marmol, I wonder if they will seriously consider sending him down. Who would you say is the best then?
  10. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 08:07 PM) Marmol meltdown! Funny thing is that Marmol was still getting a huge zone from the home plate umpire.
  11. Wow, what a meltdown by Marmol! I can't believe Piniella left him in for so long.
  12. Harden didn't even look that good, as the Giants lineup today had 3 guys who should be starting in the majors. With that said, there's little doubt the Cubs are the best team in baseball. I'll be rooting like hell for the AL on Tuesday.
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 03:04 AM) Do we ever have a good game plan against pitchers we've never seen? We looked like bIind peopIe at the plate. Gavin pitched like a pussy, what a surprise. You might as well started Carrasco. He's done nothing this year for you to say this.
  14. Not a very good start for Poreda. I can't help but think he could be used as trade bait in the next month.
  15. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) instead of saying this team is dead after every single loss...do people ever stop and consider that maybe its losing that makes a team look dead, and not the other way around? Tonight more than any other game, it seemed the players lacked focus. How many 3-2 pitches could they chase that were way out of the zone? They seem very fatigued, from the starting pitchers on down. I'll be ecstatic to go into the break with a 1 1/2 game lead.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 02:55 AM) Tried to hit it 740 feet. He hit it hard, but not that hard. Ballgame. Actually he put a terrific swing on it.
  17. Another terrific game for PK. What a buzzkill he is.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 03:27 AM) Well I hope nobody expected .310 with a .500 OBP along with 45 HR and 140 RBI. He's a lifetime .250 hitter for God's sake and his BA is going up. He'll more then likely probably finish around .250 with a pretty damn good OBP. He's been consistently in the .237 range for a while now. Between that and Crede's 40 pt plummet over the last 40 days, it would really help this offense if PK either picks it up or gets benched.
  19. As DAllen stated earlier today, Swisher has been just a huge disappointment. I hate having him and Crede bat consecutively in the order.
  20. Bench PK the rest of the wknd, and give him 6 days to relax and get his head right.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 03:12 AM) He had duffle bags? He is a bigger idiot than I thought. It will be interesting to see how many people get brought into this. The two guys who wrote this story are the guys who were all over the Bonds investigation, so you can guarantee they'll continue to try and discover information. General managers should be very concerned that Jim Bowden is being looked at.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 03:07 AM) espn.com has an article up now that Jim Bowden and Jose Rijo are being investigated in that Dominican Republic/Dave Wilder probe. In the article it said Wilder was stopped going through customs returning from the Domincan with $40k in cash on him. What a dope. The FBI was called in because they thought the duffle bags were full of cash from drug dealings. However, that's not where the money was coming from.
  23. QUOTE (tommy @ Jul 12, 2008 -> 03:00 AM) In after work.. Is Texas that good or was Gavin that bad? Gavin was that bad. It could have been even worse, as the Rangers left them loaded twice in the first 3 innings.
