  1. Unreal....if the mound is messed up, get it fixed. If not, stop playing with it!
  2. Javy looks uncomfortable on the mound.
  3. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 12:25 AM) Not this s*** again. Well, there's one opportunity wasted. I heard earlier today that on Friday, the Sox had 10 at bats with RISP, and the Cubs had 1.
  4. Terrible...AJ's inability to do anything costs us a run.
  5. Our hitters just can't put the ball in play on the hit and run!
  6. QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 23, 2008 -> 12:14 AM) A rainbow in Wrigley Field? Nothing unusual about that.
  7. Looks like there's absolutely no wind at this moment.
  8. I wonder which minorities Joe Morgan will praise with hyperboles tonight.
  9. FWIW, Rodney's 135 ERA did make me laugh.
  10. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 10:43 PM) Until they go into another slump cause their pitching sucks it. Their pitching is improving by the day though, as more guys get healthy. Galarraga has been a godsend for them, and Verlander is starting to regain his ace stuff. Lost in the shuffle has been that Granderson is completely healthy now, and he's starting to put up his usual big numbers. Hopefully Dontrelle comes back soon!
  11. Worst case scenario is if Tigers are 5 back after tonight. Everyone keeps saying that if the Sox get swept tonight, this will be the series everyone talks about. However, it was the series last week at Detroit which could have turned the Tigers season around.
  12. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 07:44 PM) Weren't you saying not that long ago that he ought to retire and you never wanted to see him again? What changed? Paul Konerko being out
  13. Verlander has found his fastball again. He's consistently in the 96-97 mph range today.
  14. Wow, Twins are just amazing with RISP lately, as they got 5 against Webb in the 5th.
  15. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 07:12 PM) Is Chris Young just a CF version of Josh Fields?? Hard to tell...he's still very young, and he brings the speed factor. However, he would drive us crazy if we had to watch him.
  16. Chris Young off to a rough start today....6 pitches, 6 called strikes
  17. QUOTE (CWSOX45 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 06:31 AM) I love when Cub fans go out of their way to boast. I heard it from nearly every Cub fan during the 2003 playoff run....I had my revenge later that month when I came to school on Halloween dressed as Steve Bartman. Great story...when I was working as a Grad Assistant at NIU during 2003, another co-worker decided to leave the game we were working at halftime because the Cubs were leading in Game 6 against the Marlins. He was told that if he left, he'd be fired. He said that was fine, as he would rather be in the city for the NL Championship celebration. So not only does he go to the city only for the Cubs to lose, but he also got fired from his job and his girlfriend ended up leaving him.
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 05:17 AM) I think Coop is the best in the business in fixing mechanics and turning around guys with cracked psyches. Especially at focusing the pitcher on not being afraid to sacrifice velocity. Something we all overlook is his ability to keep pitchers healthy.
  19. Please do not use Jim Thome at 1b! One game isn't worth him possibly getting injured and being out for an extended period.
  20. Marcus Thames has put the Tigers on his back and is carrying them to a near .500 record.
  21. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 06:07 AM) I blocked streaming video and audio on Thursday night and then was out of the office on Friday to go to the game. Some of the voicemail that was left was pretty comical. Some douchebag Cubs fan at work today kept replaying the Len Kasper calls on all of the homers in the 4th inning. He was doing this for 20 minutes, and had it as loud as humanly possible.
  22. Can someone open up the positive game thread again? We were doing damn well with that.
  23. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 05:00 AM) I don't understand you worrying about this. You dont live in Chicago, its not like you run into those with the cubby chubby all the time. Just mention 1908 and move on. I could care less about that its the cubs, I worry more about the division getting closer. I would be just as upset if the Rockies were doing this to us. The only annoyance factor is some moronic cub fans who run their mouth at work. I keep this in the back of my memory and get my revenge when I block all those fools trying to buy tickets when the cubs tickets go on sale every year at my company. Why don't you bust everyone for excessive internet usage who followed the game yesterday?
  24. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jun 22, 2008 -> 03:23 AM) I was sitting in the left field bleachers and security was constantly telling sox and cub fans to sit down. I found this very odd as it is a sporting event and you should be allowed to support your team. I have been to a ton of other parks and have never heard of this before. Did anyone else have security hassle them this weekend? They probably didn't want people getting injured by flying baseballs in the 4th inning.
