QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 03:23 AM) Actually Uribe had some pretty good ABs tonight. That one was a horses*** one. But you know, this offense has had so many opportunities to score runs and we piss it away. Agreed, at least he swung at a good pitch. The biggest AB of the night was when Griffey had the bases loaded against a pitcher he should absolutely destroy.

OC has 4 extra base hits in his last 30 games. That's not going to make him money on the market!

QUOTE (tommy @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 02:19 AM) Man on, good start indeed. And Uribe decides to swing at the first pitch.

I love having someone with Swisher's ability to walk in the 8th spot in the lineup.

QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 03:14 AM) No it's not he just can not make a big pitch in a crucial situation he always gets burned. What plus-plus pitches does he have now? If you listen to people on this board and in the organzation, you would think he has an arm like Josh Beckett.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 03:12 AM) Someone needs to sit his goofy ass down and have a man talk. I am thinking about our playoff rotation. And I was wondering how quickly could you get warm in the middle innings if we need you in the playoffs. Oh, you thought you were starting. Well I took a look at your stuff and I am impressed. Then I look at the box score and then resist the urge to be stupid. His stuff is so overrated.

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 03:09 AM) What -- no 8's? He's fine. Patience...if he stays in, a homer would give you 8

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 02:07 AM) He has a lot of K's. His apologists are still happy with his performance and think the 5 runs are all luck. This seems like 2006 where every offspeed pitch he throws is just begging to be crushed. I can't believe Ozzie is leaving him in to die right now.

4, 5, 5, 4, 5, 3, 6, 3, 6, 2, 5 in his last 11 starts for Vazquez

What a shocker, a 5 run game for Vazquez (isn't that right DAllen?)

Why in the f*** are you trying to steal 2nd base? Some very bad decisions being made tonight.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) The Cy Youngification of Minor is happening by Hawk. Pathetic...Griffey's had great pitches to hit all night.

Griffey is trying way too hard right now. I've never seen him so jumpy at the plate.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Aug 8, 2008 -> 01:50 AM) People I don't want to see out of the lineup. Ramirez, Quentin and Dye. Mix and match the rest of the DH types to get Griffey in. Taking one of those guys out screws our offense up. I want to see more of Wise against righty sinker ballers. He has the perfect swing for that type of pitch.

Just got home from work. How many times can we get burned this season pitching to Cabrera with a base open and 2 outs? GMAFB Ozzie.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:09 PM) I really don't have the speed to play CF anymore. Everett-Mackowiak-Griffey-NorthSideSox72 This reminds me of Edgar Bennett-Tillman-Enis-Salaam

uh, White Sox winner
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:52 PM) So we have the 1st, 4th, and 6th place home run hitters in the AL and 5th, 6th, and 12th guys in OPS, with Thome 3rd on the team in both categories. That is as imposing a 3-4-5 as you'll find. Thome's rebound has been incredible though, he was absolutely horrible for two full months and has just been great since the beginning of June. I know everybody goes through slumps, but it was odd to see a hall of famer be unable to hit for two months, however Jim is back where he has been for a long time now, as an elite player. The funny thing with Thome is that he still can't hit the inside pitch at all. However, he's squaring up that outside pitch a lot more than he was early in the year, and most of his homers are going to the opposite way. I don't know why a team would ever pitch him a fastball away.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 7, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) what gives? I like it. He got plunked in the ribs last night, and then fouled a ball off of his shin. I think he needs the break, as he's been pull happy for the last two weeks.
