  1. Thanks for nothing today Ben Francisco
  2. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:18 PM) I don't see him as the problem do you? Not at all, but if you can get great value for him based on how he's done this year, you make that trade. I have doubts about Dotel being able to handle the workload he's had with regards to the future.
  3. PK with the nice protect swing...on the 0-1 pitch
  4. QUOTE (G&T @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) Maybe nobody wants him for the value KW expects? Actually, Fields still does have a lot of value. I guess scouts haven't seen him play this year.
  5. If we just completely tank over the next month, KW should really try to pass Dotel through waivers.
  6. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:11 PM) Murton played plenty in the last couple of years, and Patterson isnt all that bad either. If Harden were on the Sox people would be b****ing about how he taxes the bullpen because you cant pitch him past 5-6 innings, and how he is an injury waiting to happen, etc. Pretty much the same things they say about Griffey Yeah, since so many on this board ask Ozzie to keep starting pitchers in for longer than he does.
  7. Does Hawk get royalties every time he mentions Mully or Hanley?
  8. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:32 PM) Because if Juan goes down, then we have no 3rd baseman? Chris Getz has been playing 3rd for Charlotte.
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:05 PM) I'd say that is average on the road. Slowey has a 4.70 ERA on the road and Blackburn has a 4.50. Below average was a little off for me to say but they are average and far from above average. With the terrible road records in baseball this season, I would assume that the average ERAs for starters on the road is quite poor.
  10. Hey OC...that's how you catch a f***ing soft liner. At least CQ continues to see a lot of pitches.
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 08:01 PM) "The market was ridiculous and out of control". "You can't trade away a dollar if you only get back 50 cents". "We currently don't have the resources to make trades due to Duane Schaefer's tenure, and the lies of David Wilder". etc etc. Chad Gaudin would sure look nice as our 5th starter.
  12. If Contreras isn't ready, then maybe we'll see Poreda?
  13. QUOTE (Karko's Throat Skin @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:57 PM) Jesus Christ. If the Count isn't ready yet...bring Broadway up Broadway sucks also. If Contreras isn't going to be ready, shame on KW for not acquiring another starter.
  14. To think that Ozzie let this kid face Morneau in that 5th inning earlier in the week.
  15. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:55 PM) Egbert still hurt? Egbert is not good...the organization thinks very little of him anyways.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) The last 4 are good at home, below average on the road. Baker's ERA is 4.14 on the road and Perkins is 4.17 on the road....that's way above average on the road.
  17. Twins are winning 1-0, as B. Harris has been an extra base god lately.
  18. I refuse to believe OC hit another pop up with a runner on base.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) The scary thing is the end of what you said. It would be one thing if the injuries were what were clearly hurting us, such as if we were just having issues with Clayton Richard, 3rd base, and the 8th inning exclusively. The problem is, we're having issues in every facet of the game from every angle except offense. Thus, even though getting healthy will help us if it happens, it might not be enough. Isn't our strength of schedule much more difficult than the Twins? Hopefully the Twins suck on the road.
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:49 PM) Of course, Liriano has a no-hitter through 3 innings, although he has had to use 53 pitches so far...the only hope for us is getting into that Twins' bullpen in the 6th and 7th. I'm sure Matt Ginter will keep the shutout going for the Indians. Liriano, Blackburn, Perkins, Slowey, and Baker is a very good starting rotation.
  21. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:48 PM) because our drafting and player development is simply horrible, among the worst in baseball. Check out the power numbers on our 2nd pick this year....ouch
  22. This team flat out sucks right now with all the injuries and fading pitching staff.
  23. QUOTE (JFields27 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) That error may have bitten Richard, but Gload would not have been out if we got Olivo ... the score would just be 4-0 instead ... but yeah Richard was hyped up a bit too much ... i think we did the Olympic team a favor by taking him off their roster Hyped by who?
  24. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 3, 2008 -> 07:45 PM) 11.81 ERA Why can't we EVER seem to produce a decent starting pitcher??? It seems that we should be able to find a starting pitcher more than once a decade (Mark Buehrle). Because the pitchers in our minor league system have terrible stuff?
  25. Will Ozzie treat this like yesterday and pull some of our starters?
