Great base running by Ramirez....get the runner in! No more of this stranding a runner on 3rd with less than 2 outs.
-
Two very long fly outs....guys are laying off the slider and hitting the fastball.
-
That was fairly close by Thome...pretty crappy announcing and camera work.
-
I love watching CQ bat.
-
Babe Hamilton homered again, at least it was against Indians.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:19 AM) I'm gonna always love Shingo for the 3 months or whatever he was with team for in 2005 as well... I'm going to love everyone on the team who played even the least of everyone. Hell, I love Ryan Meaux for getting us Blum. Awesome Meaux comment!

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:17 AM) Well, overrated or not, I'm ALWAYS gonna love Joe for 2005. Of course....I'll always have a special place in my heart for guys like Pods, no matter what they did outside of that postseason.

Another horrible defensive play by one of the most overrated Sox players in history. I agree with Tony, Javy might be the most underrated now.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 11:39 PM) Over 10 years ago I saw Pippen at a gas station. I also saw Bill Carmody at a Panera recently. Carmody applying for a job?

My mom was in an elevator with Carl Everett and Tom Gordon at the Skydome. She said they were very nice, even if she told Flash that he let the game get a little too close.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:07 AM) Please. How many times do we have to hear about Ozzie thinking about quitting? 2005,2006,2007 and now 2008. He was going to quit 3 times then signed a 4 year extension. Ozzie thinking about quitting is full of more s*** than anyone who thinks the White Sox can win with this offense.Any manager thinking about quitting during the season when the team is struggling a little bit isn't all that tough of a guy. Measure a manager by how he handles the tough times. Anyone can handle it when everything is bouncing your way. I don't think he returns after this season if we don't make the playoffs.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:06 AM) I'm honestly looking forward to Guillen if the offense looks terrible tonight. Not that it's unreasonable to expect that with Greinke, but it'd be especially bad since he promised lineup changes, didn't deliver, and nothing changed. What a flip-flop from him on the pregame show. Talking about not throwing Williams "under the bus?!" Does he think we're idiots? Boo birds will be out tonight if the offense struggles.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 4, 2008 -> 12:23 AM) Hosmer. Word is the Royals are willing to pay the big bucks for him, and he is a legit top 5 talent, IMO. I see that top 7 going as: 1. Rays - Tim Beckham 2. Pirates - Pedro Alvarez 3. Royals - Eric Hosmer 4. Orioles - Brian Matusz 5. Giants - Buster Posey 6. Marlins - Kyle Skipworth 7. Reds - Aaron Crow I wouldn't be surprised to see a flip-flop with Matusz and Crow, and I wouldn't be surprised if KC changes their mind to Smoak. One surprise I could see happening is if Crow is gone by 7, I could see Cincinnati going with Casey Kelly. I've heard Cubs will take Kelly if he's there for their pick. I really think we might see Posey fall to us (despite what my brother says).
-
I know this isn't much, but the word around the BA offices today is don't expect any surprises in the top 7. That means T. Beckham, Matusz, Crow, Posey, Alvarez, Smoak, and who, Alonso?
-
According to Bruce Levine, people close to Ozzie said he spent the last 48 hours contemplating if he still wanted this job. Obviously, he must have decided that he does.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 11:55 PM) David Haugh cracking me up on Chicago Tribune LIVE being realistic about the Cubs while Kaplan and Zaidman are overdosing on the Kool Aid. Kaplan and Zaidman might be my two least favorite radio guys, besides for Mike Murphy, of course.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) And Swisher does? No...but maybe Swisher will take 6 pitches in each at bat and run his pitch count up.
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) The good news is that Brian Anderson has been appropriately punished for daring to get a hit or two on Sunday. I have no problem with that tonight....Anderson would likely have no prayer against Greinke.

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) it's really too bad that he's getting hammered for blowing his cool. He's pissed off that these guys aren't hitting. Guess what? So are the rest of us. I for one like him throwing the hitters under the bus, and Kenny too. Ozzie pales in comparison to the s*** earl weaver got away with. You don't talk about making changes...and then do nothing. That makes this type of rant worthless.
-
This is why you can't erupt like Ozzie did. Buster Olney had a great column about it yesterday if you get ESPN Insider.
-
Some of the lamest fans I've ever seen at the Padres game tonight...of course, they were Cubs fans. Piniella's doing his best to blow out Marmol's elbow, so at least Lou's trying to help us out. On the other hand, I can't believe Barrett's wasn't gone. Looked like a no doubter off the bat.
-
QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 05:24 AM) from chicagosports.com Not sure if I'd make the trade. I'll have to think it through. Would a lineup of Hinrich Wade Deng Beasley Gooden be good enough to win the East? You'd have to think for a trade of basically Wade and Beasley for Rose?
-
QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Jun 3, 2008 -> 03:42 AM) David Ortiz out for at least a month with a torn tendon in wrist. Season ending surgery may be required. So he tore his tendon on a regular swing? Another wrestling style injury.

Nice job of pitching to Fukudome with an open base.
-
Zambrano's 2 for 2 with a triple. He honestly might be a better hitter than PK and Thome now. Of course, the big inning started for the Cubs because the good fielding A. Gonzalez whiffed on an Edmonds double down the line. Zambrano, Edmonds, Soto, Soriano....what an unlikeable ball club.
