QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 10:02 PM) That move won't do anything. We need productive middle of the order hitters. Either have our own get going or bring in other guys who can. Good luck trying to acquire middle of the order guys. This move allows OC to move into the 2nd spot, and you can put AJP into the middle of the lineup.

QUOTE (WCSox @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:56 PM) That said, the Sox still have a really good shot to win the Central. The Royals and Tigers are terrible and the Indians will struggle to win 85 games this season (and that's assuming that their lineup begins to hit). And, as usual, the Twins simply don't have the talent/resources to dominate. If the Sox continue pitching the way that they are, they could probably take the Central with 89 wins. I still think Tigers have a good shot to win the division. Maybe not by 10 games though!

Couldn't agree more, Walker is like a family member to guys like Crede, Thome, Dye, PK, Uribe, and AJP. However, that might be the problem. Maybe they need a different point of view and a different type of r'ship with the hitting coach.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:54 PM) If your going to make a crazy move, you bench Swish, move Alexei to CF, waive Uribe, and call up either Richar or Getz (probably Getz right now) and play him at 2B. That'll never happen though of course. Trade Egbert and Richar (I don't think organization is too high on him) for C. Guzman, and then play him at 2nd base and leadoff. Move Ramirez to CF, and have Swisher rotate around the field and play 4 games a week until he gets it going.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:40 PM) Best pitching coach in baseball. I feel so bad for him watching this offense, if we could hit at all, we'd be a team that would win our division and Don Cooper's work with the pitching would be the #1 reason why. Keep it up Coop. No kidding, the pitching staff has been amazing. They keep us in 90 pct of the games it feels like. Great job Coop!

Even if it's not his fault, you HAVE to make a change or two. This pitching has been too good for this team to only be a few games over .500. These hitters that are struggling have no constant at the plate to go to when they need it. They look so stressed when there's RISP. I feel bad for Walker in some ways, as he gets so much blame when he does NOTHING that effects the actual game. However, he's failed at his "job" for so long, and this is the real world where you get canned if your area fails.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) No. But you've been throwing that out there every day now. I think we all know by now that you think Swish was on something which I'm not sure I agree with but it definitely has legs to it. Just don't need to hear it all the time. That's jmo though. That particular comment I just made had little to do with Swisher, in all honesty. Bureau was on here the other day talking about how certain teams, like the Indians, have seen huge offensive declines since PED testing went into place. It just seems like the Sox are going through similar things, as they started off so strong in 2006, and then everyone just seems to have hit the wall since then.

QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) Didn't have a problem with it. Linebrink has been awesome. Yes, Linebrink has been awesome. However, they would have ph Gomes for Floyd in that situation if we would have just let Thornton go out to the mound. From there, we could have just pulled him for Linebrink.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 08:24 PM) You need to give that a rest. Fair enough....so no PED reference for anyone? I know that's how it used to be on here, and then that policy seemed to change. Honestly, I have no issues with that. Thanks for clearing it up.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 1, 2008 -> 09:05 PM) Ya, there's no downside at all. It might not make a huge difference but things can only get better. Can we just find a PED supplier to infilitrate our clubhouse? That seems to be the one constant over the past few years.

Unless Carlos Quentin is injured, Ozzie Guillen should be ashamed of how he managed today's game. This entire series has been a pathetic showcase of managing by Ozzie, highlighted by making it so Cliff Floyd could bat against Linebrink.
