Griffey leaves game

hmmm

Sit him tomorrow, and bring him back for any righties we might face on the next home stand.

The heat index is 111 degrees. Cramping isn't unusual in those circumstances. Its very easy to dehydrate.

He was limping in the outfield prior to the game according to people in attendance.

Better to not take a chance and have Griffey get hurt seriously.

Is it his time of the month already? :D

. . .

Too soon?

I hope it was just the heat getting to Griffey and not injured.

Agreed.

Yeah even top athletes are susceptible to cramps in these conditions. He probably didn't even feel any serious cramping, but just a hint of a cramp is good reason to leave the game especially for Griffey. A bad cramp can you leave you sore for days.

The heat is an excuse. If the conditions were so terrible on the field why weren't more players affected?

I knew he'd have injury problems at some point, but Day 2?

Team spokesman said he's day-to-day. I didn't know you could be day-to-day with cramping?

Of course the Suntimes handles it like its the end of the world.

You've never had that bad of one then.

Indeed, anybody who's had a bad cramp knows it can cause some issues that last more than half an hour.

Not everyone on the field is 38

Some players may have been affected but aren't on super close injury watch like Griffey and simply played through a lingering cramp.

My wifes last a week. :lolhitting

As Mr. Garrison once said, "I don't trust anything that bleeds for seven days and doesn't die." :o

Didn't seem to affect him when he made that nice diving catch.

Tim Lincecum came out of the Giants game with cramping and Lincecum is like 16 years old.
