  1. 3-4, 2b, homer for Berkman tonight. He has 24 hits in last 9 games.
  2. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:01 AM) And on that one, I turned the mlb.tv off. Great effort Defense, Buehrle, 2-3-4 hitters, OCab, Ozzie
  3. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:00 AM) god does this ever feel like last year I believe our record was better at this point last season.
  4. This isn't good. I'll turn on Astros game to watch Berkman bat.
  5. QUOTE (hammerhead johnson @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:57 AM) Volquez is looking like a guy that can lead the NL in strikeouts. The Texas Rangers currently have the worst starting rotation since baseball started back in the 1860s. There is no argument. You keep the potential ace. I agree with you that Texas should never trade their pitching.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:57 AM) I know the defense has been horrible tonight, but the next time Buerhle pitches over an error will probably be the first time in a long time. BTW, Wassermann really isn't a major leaguer. Sometimes I think sending players to AAA might hurt their development. The talent level in the IL is just awful, and maybe it gets players into bad habits that they think will allow them to excel at the major league level.
  7. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:54 AM) Hamilton's past has done significant damage to his body, which is why Cincy wanted to trade him so much. He has hall of fame talent, but will struggle to stay healthy long term (he didn't stay healthy much last year in fact). That's bulls*** and you know it...the Reds traded him so Dusty could play C. Patterson over Jay Bruce in CF!
  8. QUOTE (daa84 @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:53 AM) yeah, frankly i think hamilton is the more likely player to keep this up too Hamilton is awesome...thankfully the Cubs didn't get him, as I'd hate to not be able to root for him.
  9. I love pitching to Vlad here with the open base....good baseball!
  10. Remember how KW was holding out to get Hunter Pence, along with Hirsh, Taveras, and Bucholz?
  11. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:49 AM) Speaking of cases where fans got what they asked for ie somebody not traded, and now I say be careful what you ask for. At least it's fun to watch Lance Berkman bat.
  12. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:48 AM) You don't trade Volquez period, even if you have 4 other great starters, his stuff is just phenominal. Remember when we crushed him in 2005, second game of a doubleheader? Dye hit some bombs off of him, and McCarthy was great.
  13. Gold Glove Crede nears double digits in errors.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:46 AM) Volquez alone is better than what that package is and will be, but bah your probably right it'd have gotten Cincy to pull the trigger. Volquez wasn't an absolute blue chip talent though...it was quite the risk for Cincy. Volquez has always had a big reputation, but with his advanced age, it's not like he was a Kershaw or Jay Bruce.
  15. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:45 AM) That called strike looked off the plate, but what else is new for this oofesne. How many times have we left the sacks full in the last few games and couldn't get the big runs in when needed even when we won the game. The guys doing the best job are the bottom of the order. He swung
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2008 -> 04:44 AM) We didn't have anything 1/10th as good as Volquez to give up. I guarantee we could have got Hamilton for the Swisher package.
  17. There were 4 shortstops available this offseason via trade...Furcal/Tejada/Renteria/OC. I think KW chose wrong...at least we didn't lose a valuable commodity.
  18. Well, that was a horrific at bat. I absolutely despise Orlando Cabrera. What a terrible trade!
  19. QUOTE (almagest @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:37 AM) Don't know about that. He reminds me of Garland when he was young -- great movement and sink on his FB, yet lives on the outer half. Adenhart has a better curveball though. His curve was good, but his fastball seemed straight as an arrow. Just because it's low doesn't mean it has sink.
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:34 AM) Except for the fact that I and a lot of others here (probably the majority in fact) thought it would have been the right move to trade him at the time. It's not hinsight when you said it as it happened. Don't forget that Orlando Cabrera's defense has absolutely destroyed Buehrle this season. OC, without his amazing luck, could easily have 10 errors this season.
