  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 5, 2008 -> 11:05 PM) I missed his AB, what did he do? Weak chopper on the FIRST pitch. He can at least pretend he's a leadoff hitter. I would love to know what he's hitting on the first pitch this year. Sure seems like he makes a lot of weak outs on the first pitch.
  2. Funny stuff...I would guess Swisher. I can't wait for the uptight crew to go nuts about it.
  3. If it does go the way SurveyUSA projects, I assume that will be a bad night for Obama supporters? All along, I've thought that Obama needs to win NC by a greater percentage than Hillary winning Indiana in order to stop some of the momentum she's picked up.
  4. Great lineup, I love to see Ozzie shaking things up like this.
  5. Maybe I see things differently, but the Chicago media is very soft on the White Sox. Heck, they were absolutely brutal last year, and there was hardly anyone claiming KW or Ozzie should have lost their job. The Cubs are criticized much more heavily. The other day, Piniella received tons of criticism for not replacing Soriano in LF. Does Ozzie really want to get the spotlight on his managerial decisions. He's made some brutal decisions in the last week, starting with the BA squeeze attempt. Gibbons has managed circles around Ozzie this series. How easy can Ozzie make it for him by never have a PH for one of our batters. Gibbons has been going lefty/lefty righty/righty in the 8th and 9th innings.
  6. I really like the Sun Times article where he says the Sox are Chicago's b****.
  7. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 4, 2008 -> 07:54 PM) We are 29 games into a 162 game schedule. We should have won the game today. You can't blame the team or any one player for this loss We only had one inning where we had a base hit (should have been an error in the 8th).
  8. Does OC have a horseshoe up his ass or what with the official scoring this year? He's had a few gift hits, and the official scoring has sure gone easy on him defensively. Maybe his agent has a deal with them to get a portion of his new deal after this season
  9. QUOTE (WCSox @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:21 PM) If we're still playing Corpseball at the deadline, we should try getting good value for Crede, Dye, Cabrera, and Thome as well. One way or the other, this team will be in need of a significant overhaul this winter. No point in trading OC now....his value won't be nearly high enough to turn down the two draft picks when he goes elsewhere. Hopefully he stays an A.
  10. QUOTE (CWSGuy406 @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:20 PM) So... how useless is Pablo Ozuna? Let's see: Can't hit... check. Can't field... check. (But by golly he can suck at multiple spots on the field! Versatility, baby!) Can't run anymore... check. (I'm exaggerating a bit here, but when one of your top claim is that your fast... well, Pablo's below-average for a 'speedy' player). It sucks, too, because the Sox have at least three players (Bourg, Getz and Owens -- if only for the fact that he's actually fast) who'd be better suited for the bench than Ozuna. The biggest issue with him is he's not horrible vs LHP, but we keep playing him against RHP. Nothing like knowing your personnel!
  11. Great game for Contreras...maybe we can get some good value for him at the deadline.
  12. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:17 PM) seriously, your reactions are over the top. Considering the owner of this site basically said the same stuff yesterday, I don't feel like I'm being over the top with this.
  13. Is Ozzie even trying to manage anymore? Substituting Ozuna for Uribe doesn't count as shaking things up. In all three games of the Jays series, he's had our pitchers pitch to a tough hitter when 1st base was open and men on base.
  14. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:15 PM) Listen, it's all well and good to complain about Thome versus Lefties. I hate watching that, too. But "I hate watching Thome bat!" and "I can't wait until his contract is done with!" are crazed reactions. No, I really think he's not a winning baseball player. And you should know how much I must hate watching him bat when I give Toby a vote of confidence.
  15. Great pitches to hit for PK and Dye, but the ball isn't jumping off of the bat.
  16. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:13 PM) I really wish we had Fields on the team for situations like pinch-hitting for Thome against a lefty. And I wish we had Owens on the team for situations where Uribe or Ozuna have to bat late in the game leading off an inning.
  17. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 4, 2008 -> 07:12 PM) I hope you're the only one who would rather have Toby Hall up at the plate against anyone rather than Jim Thome. Against a tough lefty reliever, Thome's probably the worst hitter in baseball.
  18. Just think, if Toronto had kept Frank Thomas, we probably win this game!
  19. Great performance by Contreras. A bad umpiring call and stupid decision to pitch to Stairs robbed him of a stellar performance.
  20. QUOTE (Gregory Pratt @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:08 PM) Meanwhile your hero Paul Konerko can continue to light things up. At least he's not completely useless in late game situations. It's really sad when I think a lot of us would rather have Toby Hall up in that situation before than Thome. And BTW, at least Paul Konerko proved he can lead this team to a playoff level.
  21. The good news is that Thome won't bat again in the 9th inning. Isn't it time for him to strain an oblique or something?
  22. QUOTE (Capn12 @ May 4, 2008 -> 08:06 PM) Thome with a late inning K, who'da thought? I can't wait until his contract is finished.
