  1. Over our last 10 games, I would love for someone to look up how many games our starting 2nd baseman got a hit in that game. I don't think it's more than 3 or 4
  2. I never realized how consistent our 1/2/3 has been. .222 .223 .225
  3. QUOTE (SoxWS05 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:19 PM) Weak pop single, could of been caught, then Masset gives him second. Not good. By who, Quentin or OC?
  4. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 06:19 PM) possible big inning incoming~ Well, we do have the worst pitcher on the roster starting today. Obviously, we weren't going to win this game 1-0.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 05:09 PM) Tough out for Cabrera there - he's finally starting to look like he's getting it at the plate. Hopefully he gets hot. What happened? With a lot of us working today, we'd appreciate detailed info when possible.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 04:47 PM) day game after night game, that's prototypically when you sit your starting catcher. But in this case, with the day off after, plus AJ knowing how to play in that stadium, and with Konerko out... I agree, unconventional thinking was needed here. Twins are going with the same lineup from yesterday.
  7. With the day off tomorrow, I don't get why AJ isn't playing. Considering our offensive struggles and PK being out, you need everyone you can get in the lineup.
  8. Sounds like there's going to be a crazy lineup tomorrow, as PK will get the day off, Hall will be catching, and OC might be on the bench. Can we pray for a rain out?
  9. QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) Wouldn't be surprised to see a tying HR by Reed here. Nice win for the Brewers. That home plate umpire was sensational.
  10. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 29, 2008 -> 06:23 AM) Can someone name a better team then the DBacks? Because I seriously can't. Not only in my mind are they the best team in the NL, but they're the best team in the majors...by far. If only they had some pitcher in the minors they could call up....oh wait, they called up Max. He looks sensational.
  11. Can the Milwaukee bullpen actually hold a lead? They've made a 9-4 game turn into 9-7.
  12. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 04:03 AM) Weren't you just saying how we should be concerned over Jenks yesterday? You wanna get your stories straight. Of course I'm concerned about him, but he's going to be with this organization for a long time.
  13. Who cares if we have a speedy leadoff guy. We have a #2 hitter who can't do anything fundamentally right at the plate.
  14. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:49 AM) The problem isn't losing it is the way the offense simply disappears and not only gives away at-bats but they give away entire games. There have been 5 games this year where they had no chance at all of winning the game and the pitchers were not that good. Tonight Oakland Monday game Detroit bullpen game Sonnenstine 1st game Saturday No chance at all in any of those games. The lack of situational hitting has cost another 3 or 4 games (ie. yesterday). This rotation is getting absolutely f***ed right now. This team should have maybe 7 losses right now tops. When the schedule gets tough they better not b**** because pissing away these games will haunt them....or maybe they just are not that good. I like this post a lot....our offense just didn't show up in those games. And in almost all cases, there has been very little in terms of hard outs.
  15. Never in a million years did I think I would be disappointed in seeing Gavin Floyd go 6 innings, 3 runs (2 earned) when he had no command of his fastball.
  16. QUOTE (Soxpranos @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:42 AM) You and your OPS, now if we had a Manny like hitter at the number 3 or 4 hole than yes, you can argue that this offense is one of the best. Damn OPS has not done crap the last 2 games, but hey, were an offensive juggernaut.
  17. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 02:40 AM) Even if the season is a disappointment, at this point in time(a lot could change) the Sox have 3 solid young players in Quentin-Floyd-Danks that will make things much easier on Williams. I would include Fields in that, and Swisher's locked up for so long, I consider those 5 and Jenks as the future of this team.
  18. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:37 AM) division or league... division right now would be like being the tallest midget, with one team over .500 Think about it this way....we've only had 2 or 3 offensive players hot at the same time this whole season. If our starting pitching struggled out of the gates, we could be 5 games below .500. I'll gladly take where our record is at, and hope the offense turns it around.
  19. That was quite the half-assed "stretch".
  20. Why can't every game be on Sunday? If we were an NFL team, we'd rule. The Sox have dominated on Sunday all season.
  21. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:31 AM) we've never come back against nathan, IIRC Jermaine Dye's towering line drive disagrees
  22. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:32 AM) been watching all year. Starting Pitching= B+ Middle Relief= B Closer= B Offense= C- Defense= C Managing= C+ Overall Baseball IQ= C Starting pitching gets an A+
  23. QUOTE (joesaiditstrue @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:28 AM) the losing streak might start tonight. i'd say we could easily get swept this series and possibly lose a 4th or 5th dropping us a game or two below .500 sad. ozzie needs to do something, make a change for the sake of making a change if anything. just do something different. because this is 2007 all over again. the ENTIRE LINEUP (sans Quentin, and Crede) IS SLUMPING AT THE SAME TIME. COINCEDENCE? Unlikely. We had won 3 of 4 coming in....I'm all for doom and gloom, but just calm down a little.
  24. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Apr 30, 2008 -> 03:28 AM) Please describe in fuller detail. Was it worse than Erstad versus Zumaya last year in Detroit? Yes. He swung at an 0-1 pitch that was a foot off the plate, and then literally went into take mode on a fastball down the plate. He didn't make any movement on the 0-2 pitch.
