Just looking at the statcast and pitch chart numbers, Thorpe’s fastball whenever it was belt high or higher got hit extremely hard tonight. I just don’t think his repertoire is going to work.

I’ve read up on the play clock for football. Reason it seems delayed is the ref has to see it go to zero and then look if it’s been snapped.
