  1. QUOTE (kane0730 @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:53 AM) not a chance. did he at least hit it hard? Nope, and he had great pitches to hit. Swisher makes it seem like there's 20 defenders on the field, same as OC.
  2. Just a terrible team....Swisher's load mechanism is so messed up. That's why he can't hit hanging curves.
  3. QUOTE (rafacosta @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:51 AM) Let's see what Swisher is about...so far he has been a huge disappointment. .100 with RISP?
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ May 15, 2008 -> 03:50 AM) Theres a bunch of angry dudes out there with chains and brass knuckles who are ready to give Paulie two bad thumbs now. He was only allowed 2 pitches and he had to hit into a double play. The weirdest post in soxtalk history goes to.....NorthSideSox15
  5. Nice hit by Crede...too bad we couldn't at least get Dye into scoring position. A definite pet peeve of fathom is when there's a leadoff hit, and a 2 out hit doesn't score a run.
  6. PK has completely lost his power. He got all of that, and wasn't even that close to going out.
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:48 AM) Paulie has two pitches or someone's going to break his legs. Great job with the Thome vs relievers stat.
  8. How about a hit-and-run with PK up?
  9. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:45 AM) Hawk was spot on. Last year, he wasn't close to having this kind of control with the fork. That sequence to Vlad a few innings ago was sick. Just like Jenks, it all starts with confidence in the heater. Contreras is throwing 92-93 mph this season, which is up from 88-89 mph last year. Thus, he no longer drops down as much as he did last year. If you think about it, throwing a forkball when dropping down is basically impossible.
  10. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ May 15, 2008 -> 03:43 AM) Seriously. I'm trying to remember the last time I saw his forkball working like this. Maybe at Cincinnati in 2006, a game he got a no decision in, but he was racking up the strike outs.
  11. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:42 AM) When Contreras is in control, he is so fun to watch. For some reason, it seems like the Angels always look hopeless against his forkball.
  12. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:38 AM) Seriously. 9, 8, 9, and 11 pitches in innings 3-6, respectively. I said it earlier, and maybe I am beating a dead Thome, I mean horse, but is someone paying these guys to be impatient and see less than 10 pitches in an inning? We were working him in the first two innings. This offense is impotent. Someone get them some Viagra. This happens a lot with this team. The top of the order is pretty patient, and the first two innings, you'll see the starter around 40 pitches. However, we get to the bottom of the order, and then the starting pitcher starts getting more 2 or 3 pitch outs, and it all goes downhill.
  13. How about a pitch out...but that would require the bench being awake.
  14. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 15, 2008 -> 03:35 AM) You heard it here from Hawk Harrelson, folks: IT'S NOT GREG WALKER'S FAULT! Rule of thumb...when Hawk has to defend someone, that means they should be fired. I'm also getting sick of hearing that Buehrle's not pitching bad.
  15. QUOTE (kane0730 @ May 15, 2008 -> 04:30 AM) Well that was quick. Angels win this game 2-1. 81 pitches for Lackey after being at 45 after 2 innings.
  16. Impressive performance by this offense after the first 3 hitters. What an atrocious, underachieving offense.
  17. QUOTE (kane0730 @ May 15, 2008 -> 03:25 AM) I'm shocked they put 1 on the board. To be honest, it was set up by bad defense on OC's "hit". It's amazing how many hits he's been credited with that could and should have been errors.
  18. Excellent job of not giving him a fastball. Can this offense pick it up please, this starting rotation deserves it!
  19. Jose's wildness getting him in a lot of trouble. I can't remember who said this on the radio today, but the White Sox are just really boring to watch right now.
  20. How evident has the speed and hustle difference been this series? The Angels are having everyone on their roster steal successfully if they reach base, and the White Sox can't even get a double on balls hit down the line (Crede last night, AJP tonight).
  21. They miss a hit and run, and still steal easily. AJ is such a bad throwing catcher. And then, PK shows just miserable range after we throw a perfect pitch for Quinlan to hit to right field.
  22. No walks Jose! I feel bad for our starting pitchers, so much pressure.
