QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 02:07 AM) I'm not sure he was worth a Starting Pitcher though. Just be thankful we didn't give him a 4 yr, 48 mil extension.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 02:00 AM) Bulls***. Total bulls***. I, like many others, "hate" Uribe because he has been completely unproductive at the plate for the last 3 seasons, and still has a starting role. He has been terrible his last 1300 AB's, if not longer. No s*** he's horrible, you know I won't disagree with that. But DA keeps asking why Uribe gets so much blame, and I think it's because people feel there's actually a chance he won't be at that position all year.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:55 AM) I wonder if the bullpen had been pitching better lately if we'd have gone to it at the start of this inning or had a quicker jook with javy when someone got on base. Doubtful....Ozzie has kept Javy in for worse situations in the past. I have no issue with Javy being in there.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:57 AM) 30? It was AT LEAST half and half last night. Ha, and I deleted it because I didn't want to be too down on the crowd.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:57 AM) Didn't you hear Hawk, Javy is just unlucky, was last year and in 2006. In fact, he's always unlucky if he loses. Has any pitcher had more excuses made for him in his Sox career? BTW DA, I realized why so many people hate Uribe. I think it's because it's the only position where it seems possible that a move can be made. No one complains about other players near as much because it's set in stone they'll be there.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:55 AM) I can't think of a single good thing about this game. f***ing embarassment. We're still in first place after tonight.

Yankees are just a better team right now. We better win 3 against the Orioles this wknd.

Javy got unlucky in '06? I seem to remember a pitcher who gave up blast after blast in the 6th inning.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:49 AM) realistically they have 2 innings left to do anything, because I imagine Joba is available and Rivera obviously should be I doubt Joba goes after pitching 1.2 innings last night.

QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:49 AM) i have no problem with swisher hitting leadoff and really have no problem with the fact that we dont have speed...i just wish swisher would hit like he his capable of hitting He's not exactly a high average hitter.

One of these days, it would be nice to add another lefty bat to our starting lineup.

QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:36 AM) That's game right there. As I said yesterday, we are pathetic right now. Well, we're not facing a team that has 9 guys slumping and no bullpen like we did when we beat up on the Tigers. This team has to start playing better. AJP and Dye have cooled off, but only Thome has stepped up.

QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:37 AM) Can't really blame Swisher for that, the ball was slicing sharply away from him. Anderson wouldn't have gotten to that either. Yes, but diving the way he did probably allowed the 2nd run to score. But no, he couldn't have caught it.

2008 Chicago Cubs Catch-All Thread
Yost leaving Dave Bush in to die again. Sad to see the Pirates come back from a 4 run deficit against the Cardinals. The Cubs are just winning games easily now...the bandwagon is quite full.

Ugh, not good by Swisher. Our pitchers just can't get the 3rd out.

QUOTE (chisoxt @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 01:25 AM) Is it me or does it seem like we play so flat at home...Even the games we win are nail biters or games that we trail much of the way. It also seems as though the attendance is way down this year and there is not as much energy in the park...last night, only 25,000. A friend of mine from work went to the game last night, and he was shocked at how bad the crowd was. Like you said, he said the crowd seemed to not care about the game.

It's crazy to think that a Sox loss and Tigers win tonight would make the Tigers only 3 games out of leading the AL Central.
-
White Sox vs. Yankees, 4/23, 7:11, ESPN
This reminds me of a few games last week where the players had no energy. These swings are pathetic.

White Sox vs. Yankees, 4/23, 7:11, ESPN
Might be my first negative post about Swisher all year, but his near .200 batting average vs righties has to pick up.

Our pitching staff has had trouble getting that 3rd out of the inning in the last week.
