  1. What a perfect game.....Garland's ERA goes down, Thome homers, and the Sox gain a game on Tampa.
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 08:02 PM) I'd be down for Atkins, arms for Jon Garland. Safe to say 3b is the last position we need to get someone for.
  3. QUOTE(BearSox @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 07:31 PM) How about Ian Stewart... there isn't much for him with Hawpe, Atkins, and Helton. They're trading Atkins this offseason.
  4. Brewers were up 8-1....and now it's 8-5. Needless to say, I won't be very happy if they happen to blow this.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 05:40 PM) Unfortunately, there's not a chance in hell that happens. The voters have no clue what the words "positional adjustments" mean, and the Tigers aren't making the playoffs as of today, and God forbid you EVER vote for an MVP on a non-playoff team. At this point it's quite clearly A-Rod's to lose. It should be ARod, but Granderson should get 2nd. Sadly, they'll probably vote Mike Lowell 2nd.
  6. No doubt in my mind he deserves more MVP votes than Ordonez this year.
  7. Getting Fuentes as the main part of a trade for Garland would be just about the dumbest thing imaginable. His velocity has already started to decline, we don't need another lefty reliever, and he'd be a FA after 2008. Like I've been saying, I'm nervous KW will severely overpay for relievers.
  8. Have a feeling tat the Ankiel HGH stuff destroyed any momentum that team had.
  9. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 02:47 AM) Brewers and Cubs win. Let's get hot again. PS: LaRussa is one of the greatest facilitators of steroids in the game. The Bash Brothers, Rick Ankiel, plenty of guys on the rosters besides the names, I'm sure, and he's always right there, steady like San Francisco. Pretty interesting that not all franchises operate like that, though, or managers. Arizona is on record as saying that they got rid of people they thought were on steroids and Glaus was one of them. That's funny, cause check out Arizona's best hitter the year they won the WS.
  10. Weeks gives the Brewers the lead in the 9th. Can Cordero pitch well on the road, for a change? Also, it looks like Braun is finally slumping. It was just a matter of time....but they need his production big time over the next three weeks.
  11. Brewers tie it in the 8th....but my boyfriend Estrada can't give them the lead with Hall on 3rd and two outs. The Brewers catchers have just been horrible since the ASB.
  12. Wow, Jack Wilson missed a game-tying grand slam by a few feet there.
  13. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) You must have missed the montage where they compared him to Tiger Woods and Sidney Crosby Oh I saw it, don't worry. About 10 minutes ago, Dick Vitale was gushing about the "Cubbies" and that they're going to win the NL Central.
  14. Just saw that Orlando Hudson is out for the season. Please, please, please, don't let the Cubs face them in the first round of the playoffs (which would happen if the scores stand up today and you projected the playoffs based on standings).
  15. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 12:06 AM) You'll still complain that they won one. Sure, any win for the Cubs is bad right now. They're playing terrible baseball, and they're still going to be in the lead in the NL Central after today. And you have to know that Zambrano is going to go on a good stretch sooner or later.
  16. This has got to be the worst announced game I've ever heard. Every single play Clausen doesn't make, they say it was a good decision. Hell, if you want good decisions made by throwing every pass away, put me in the game. I'll run around and throw it out of the end zone.
  17. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Sep 9, 2007 -> 12:01 AM) Well they will next time. Cool
  18. Stop me if you've heard this before.....the Brewers are a f***ing disgrace on the road. Oh, and the Cubs face the Astros next week, and they'll miss Oswalt.
  19. Why in the world would we want Andruw Jones? He's a Boras client anyways, so it doesn't make any sense. If the Sox can't get Hunter or Rowand, they'll just put Owens out there.
  20. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 10:44 PM) AJ has been arguably the Sox' MVP for the past three seasons. I'll let one of my fellow stat buddies make my argument for why it's been Konerko, Dye, and Thome over the last three seasons. Don't get me wrong though....I can see why you would say he was in 2005. His attitude changed an entire clubhouse.
  21. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 10:39 PM) AJ plays day in and day out, plays the most demanding position and plays it well, and comes through in the clutch. And every now and then does something "controversial" to win big games. Um, yeah. What has he done controversial to win games this year?
  22. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 10:35 PM) So to kick us fans in the balls a little bit more, is this the part where the Sox go on a small winning streak at the end of the season to end up with the fifth overall pick instead of #2? 'Cause that's what I'm feelin'... Absolutely....at least Greg will be happy. Jordan Danks, come on down!
  23. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 8, 2007 -> 10:32 PM) Amazing return by Williams for Penn St. there. And I hope Penn St. just takes Travis Thomas to the woodshed after that bulls*** he pulled. And Weis puts him right back into the game.
  24. Thru 2 games, the Irish are showing as much class on the field as their coach does. Thomas should have been ejected for that unsportsman-like play earlier.
