  1. I really wish we would have given Wood a multi year deal around 5 million. Considering what guys like Dotel get, it could have been a huge bargain.
  2. QUOTE (Wanne @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:14 AM) Yeah it was horrible. I'm sick of pissing away VERY winnable games. That's about 3 I can remember so far. That wasn't a winnable game. The score doesn't reflect how one-sided it seemed.
  3. We'll see Pods bat in the 9th.
  4. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:12 AM) Wow, Sox loss and the Cubs just took the lead in the matter of seconds. Someone check on Fathom. I'm here, thanks. At least Prince delivered tonight. I had someone go to me at work today "guess who's great on the Cubs right now....everyone". The sad thing was it was hard for me to come up with someone. I go "well, I heard Lilly was only throwing 85 mph yesterday".
  5. And the Cubs take the lead....f***!
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:10 AM) His WS battle with Bagwell when he was just throwing gas was epic. His Ricky Vaughn moment.
  7. QUOTE (WhiteSoxfan1986 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 04:08 AM) Who knows. He could be taking velocity off on purpose for more control, his walk rate really went down last season. I'd rather he get back to the effectively wild Jenks. It would prevent players from sitting on his offspeed pitch.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 04:07 AM) Last year, he said something about being less concerned with trying to throw hard and being more concerned with trying to pitch. He said to the fans 100 isn't a big a deal as it's made out to be. FWIW. That's such BS though. At this point, we just have to hope he continues to be effective.
  9. I guess AJ forgot to read the scouting report regarding Rivera's cutter.
  10. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 04:06 AM) Can someone explain to me how Jenks goes from occasionally hitting 100 to occasionally hitting 94? I mean seriously... I guess I'm not that worried about his general effectiveness but there has to be a reason for the loss in velocity, right? I'm concerned....I never thought I'd see the day that Hawk said he threw a batting practice fastball on 3-2.
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 04:03 AM) If Jenks still threw 100, they would have tried to blow him away. After seeing Jenks lately, I really hope KW considers trading him for a huge package (please no penis jokes).
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:02 AM) Why do we keep walking Giambi? To get to Ensberg, I understand. I don't understand why we set up our rotation so that Buehrle wouldn't face the lefty dominant Yanks lineup.
  13. Can we end this Uribe nonsense? Both on the board and on the Sox!
  14. QUOTE (frankie5angels @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 02:57 AM) Reed Johnson was a big pickup for the Cubbies, even though he just grounded out to end the 8th inning with the tying run on 2nd. Be careful, I said how great of a pick-up it was, and got ridiculed.
  15. QUOTE (BearSox @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:55 AM) Broadway's cup of coffee last year seems to disagree with fathom's source. On the brightside however, I think you can watch archived games of milb.tv for free. So, I think we can watch tonights Knights game for free tomorrow. Big difference between being a long reliever and an actual rotation starter. I actually really like Broadway in the role that Masset has now.
  16. QUOTE (Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:53 AM) You're wrong says random internet fan I thought it's been established here that I know someone who works for the Durham Bulls front office.
  17. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 02:53 AM) Yea Rivera is still damn good.... Dye has a very good pitch to hit, but he overswung and missed it for strike 2.
  18. Dye chases ball four above his head.
  19. QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 02:49 AM) Who's telling you that Broadway isn't an MLB starter? Whoever it is, I think they're wrong. Someone who's at the game surrounding by scouts (he said there were more scouts than usual at the game tonight).
  20. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:42 AM) I think I heard Joe Morgan say he didn't understand why the Sox went and got Swisher. lol, typical. If he was a minority, Morgan would say he's the best clubhouse person in baseball.
  21. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) I'll take a .300 average, 19 RBI and a league leading 6 homers anytime. Some of the posts tonight make me shake my head....that's hard to do.
  22. Brief review of what I heard about tonight's game: Owens was fantastic, including a great diving catch. Fields oppo field homer wasn't hit far. He's hit the ball hard the last few days though. Broadway was decent, but isn't a MLB starter. Wasserman was filthy, and Egbert's motion was weird, but not very good stuff.
  23. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 12:36 AM) Matt Stairs with two home runs so far tonight. Ass...I was just typing that!
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 24, 2008 -> 03:32 AM) Crede is really looking bad. Double, single and Rbi last night, homer tonight. Awful. I found that post funny also, as Swisher has only a few hits in the last week. And the Cubs come storming back...why can't that team just lose!
