  1. Just some fantastic at bats by Swisher....he's been very consistent all season.
  2. I missed it...was Uribe close to a homer?
  3. Impressive to see Danks pitch over the leadoff hit to such a fast player.
  4. Jermaine's inability to bust his ass to the line and get in throwing position hopefully won't cost the Sox.
  5. It only took the Cubs two batters to take the lead today. Reed Johnson was a superb pick-up for the Cubs. He was the righty platoon outfielder the Sox lacked the past few seasons.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 06:29 PM) I've actually been out with a group including him and his brother a few times. Did you wear a bulletproof vest?
  7. QUOTE (max power @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 06:16 PM) What is the score? 2-0
  8. Hawk sounds like a real idiot discussing Thome being better against LHP. I guess he hasn't watched Sox games the last two years.
  9. Thanks Tampa for foolishly not intentionally walking Thome.
  10. And what do you know, Cabrera fails to deliver in a situational hitting spot again.
  11. You don't usually see someone stealing a base who can just round the base like Uribe was able to. Sox have to score at least one run here.
  12. Impressive at bat for Uribe. He took a lot of good pitches to earn the walk.

My wife loves "Rules of Engagement". The younger woman on that show is stunning (I'm pretty sure she's married to Landon Donovan).
  14. AJP's first hit in a week it seems like. I'm sure that makes him happier.
  15. I had more fun trying to spot celebrities in the crowd.
  16. Danks showed great control in that first inning.
  17. QUOTE (sox-r-us @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 06:38 PM) If Frank ever decides to retire, I hope the Sox will sign him to a one day or so contract and let him bat for the Sox for one game so that the fans can give him a final goodbye .... I would love to attend that game if it happened. Guaranteed sell out. I don't think Frank would do that.
  18. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 06:39 PM) THERE's a line drive, fathom. I had to try and get a rally started.
  19. If that ball landed that far into the seats, it makes me think Friday's night would have landed over the video screen.
  20. They guys are making hitting line drives seem difficult. Shocking, I know, but I don't like our chances today.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 06:32 PM) If Juan Uribe is hitting 9th, Konerko is hitting 4th, Swisher is hitting 1st, and Thome is hitting 3rd, you're simply going to be wrong on the GIDP, because Swisher will almost never have anyone on base for him. Swisher's hit into 3 in the last 5 games. Just wait until Uribe gets hot.
  22. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 20, 2008 -> 05:23 PM) You might be right. At this point in his career how can he reasonably expect to be a full time DH knowing guys like Bonds and Piazza are unemployed ? You can't rock the boat without expecting a plunge into the water. As much as I loved Frank's career with the Sox his mouth has always been his worst enemy. Bonds being unemployed has nothing to do with his talent.
  23. BTW, I guarantee that Swisher ends up with more strike outs and GIDP than Konerko this season.
  24. Cabrera's intensity has been amazing on these blown rundowns! I look forward to more posts from the author of this thread.
