  1. Wow, what a swing by Crede. Give him that extension, he deserves it!
  2. I agree with whoever said something about getting Duque, Marte, and Hermanson some work tonight.
  3. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:50 AM) Plenty of pitchers succeed without showing an ounce of toughness. Let's find other things wrong with Jon like his control or consistency before attacking his character. Would it be better if I said intensity instead of toughness? I meant it more in regards to physical attribute rather than emotional/mental attributre.
  4. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:49 AM) This stadium is such a piece of crap Why? That ball was absolutely smoked. I happen to enjoy this field, as it brings another dimension to games.
  5. This would be the greatest comeback in Sox history tonight. They don't have a lick of momentum in this game, and you can tell the Astros sense this game is locked up already.
  6. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:44 AM) You forgot about not showing toughness. I'm not one of the Friends of Judy posters, but I've long thought that main thing that keeps Garland from being a top-notch MLB pitcher is his lack of consistent toughness. I know he's a laid-back guy, but sometimes when the game gets intense, you need to match that intensity. Not to get annoying, but we're not facing Vlad and company anymore. These guys have taken great swings throughout this series, and in a way, we're lucky we're up 2-0 coming into today.
  7. I just hope Ozzie is aware that it's quite possible Garland will have to pitch on Sunday. Thus, absolutely no reason to keep him in this game for 7 or 8 innings if the Sox continue to trail in this game.
  8. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:43 AM) Pissed himself again..yes cause he's been pissing himself while being a defensive wizard all post season long. I love how when anyone screws up they're always choking or pissing themselves. Well said
  9. QUOTE(Whitesoxfan56 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:41 AM) No Konerko shouldnt get blamed. he was on the correct side of the bag, uribe just pissed himself again and f***ed up...o well u gotta move on PK was standing flat-footed on 1B as if he was expecting a throw where their was a force out at first. He didn't come close to giving Uribe a good angle to throw.
  10. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) can i say i don't like this umpire not giving the outside corner? What has the umpire done to dictate anything so far tonight?
  11. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:36 AM) How the hell do you determine toughness from a pitcher? Are you tough if you don't give up runs? Are you tough if you get lucky and the batter hits it right at a fielder? What exactly establishes toughness in a pitcher, and how the hell do you judge it? I think we've all seen a lot of the good and the bad Garland this season. When he's gone out and showed some balls, you could seem him buckle down in big situations and not just throw poor pitch after poor pitch. We're lucky Ensberg didn't end this game in the 3rd inning. His sinker is extremely flat, and like I mentioned earlier, our starters aren't coming close to keeping their hitters off-balanced.
  12. QUOTE(bmags @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) okay, thanks to Uribe's brilliant throw (did he realize that everett was not a sox) we are down 2 more...f***ing awful I've changed my tone, and that was PK's fault. Look at the replays. He gave Uribe no angle to throw that ball.
  13. Get the bullpen ready, cause Garland hasn't shown an ounce of toughness so far tonight.
  14. I'm very worried about how our starting pitchers are matching up with these Astros hitters. None of them have come close to fooling their hitters.
  15. We need something positive to happen soon in this game. So far, this is the exact script that the Astros wanted for the game.
  16. Wow, will our outfielders please charge the ball a little harder? Dye seemed to take forever to get to that ball.
  17. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:26 AM) wow, we NEVER throw out runners attempting to steal a base. ^^^^^^^^
  18. I'm not sure why PK was just stationed at 1b. He has to give Uribe a better angle to throw the ball to first.
  19. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:24 AM) I hate Everett. The speed of the Astros has really played a factor so far, surprisingly as really only Everett and Taveras are fast.
  20. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) Disagree there, the pitch to scott was basically the same pitch jon threw for ball 4 last inning, both balls imo. The ump ain't going to get every call right though. Yes, but since the pitch was an offspeed pitch, the umpire was able to anticipate where it crossed the plate. I personally have no problem with any of the umpires calls so far, and that's definitely not the reason we're losing.
  21. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:21 AM) That inning was very discouraging. A lot of times in the NL, facing the pitcher to lead off the inning can help get the starter in a groove on the mound.
  22. QUOTE(GasHeGone @ Oct 26, 2005 -> 01:20 AM) Strike 3 to Garland was WAY low...so was strike 2 to Pods. They were both strikes.
